Super Smash Bros Ultimate Tier List - 2020 Edition
The only stage that matters in the meta-game.
Besides being a family party game, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate separates the casuals from the hardcore competitive players through its tier lists. Follow the meta or don't, but this list will give you a better idea of which characters are more viable than others. No items, no hazards, omega stages only! Own your friends or random players as you "Settle it in smash!"
F Tier:
So basically, all of these characters are TRASH.
All jokes aside, these characters are slow, have a bad recovery, or terrible combos that can easily be punished against higher tiers. You can win one or two matches against higher tiers, but that’s it. Another thing is that these characters can be easily read, again making them punishable.
Pros:
- Downplayed
- Heavy hitters
Cons:
- Easily juggles/punished
- Easily read
- Limited arsenal
Despite his lack of speed, Gannon manages to stay away from the last place.
Little Mac: 1.28/100
Isabelle: 2.56/100
Jigglypuff: 3.84/100
Dr. Mario: 5.12/100
Incineroar: 6.4/100
King Dedede: 7.68/100
Gannondorf: 8.96/100
D Tier:
These characters are able to win matches, but again they can easily be read by other better players with better characters. They can be immediately shut down despite having the potential for better combos and match-ups. These characters also have a hard time getting kills because they lack an aspect in their arsenal that ranges from hit power to defense.
Pros:
- Gimmicky playstyle
- Fun Characters
Cons:
- Mediocre
- Easily knocked out
- Easily readable
A decent arsenal, but was overused and gimmicky.

Mid-Tier:
Good enough in all aspects of their game from hit/hurt boxes, combo potential, and recovery. What separates them from the D tier is that these characters can keep up longer in matches, even against better players. More skill is required in order to gain wins against other opponents.
Pros:
- Can survive matches
- Could win if the skill is available
Cons:
- Something to be desired
- Average
- Barely enough to kill other opponents.

The cream of the crop. These characters have the best defensive/offensive game compared to the whole roster. They also have a lot of combo potential that can make many of the other tiers “rage quit.”
Good players will trade blows against each other even with completely different matchups (Zoner vs Rushdown). The top characters are the most dynamic in their category when considering their hit/hurt boxes. Each has a lot in their arsenal that shows their shortcomings on one side but greatly enhances another.
Pros:
- Exceptional Characters
- Diverse move-set
- Great combos
- Great damage output
Cons:

- Readable
