Are you a fan of Star Wars Battlefront II, but have no idea which Specialist class weapons to use? Need more Battle Points? Or do you simply want to get more eliminations? Lucky for you, you have come to the right place. Read on to find a ranking of all Specialist weapons and attachment combinations, along with meta recommendations and which ones to avoid.

Weapons, stats, and analyses (ranked worst to best)

5) Default blaster

This is a decent starting rifle, however it takes last place due to its lack of attachments. best used at long range. be mindful of your surroundings.

Stats:

  • Cooling Power: 3/10
  • Range: 8/10
  • Rate of Fire: 4/10
  • Damage: 6/10

Blaster for each Specialist Trooper type:

  • Valken-38X - Galactic Republic
  • E-5s - Separatists
  • DLT-20A - Rebel Alliance
  • DLT-19X - Galactic Empire
  • A180 Sniper - Resistance
  • DLT-19D - First Order

4) IQA-11 - unlocked after 50 kills with the Specialist class

The very slow firing rate and poor cooling power make this blaster cumbersome at close and medium range. I find it can be useful in maps with lots of open space (e.g. Hoth), but it is very risky to use without cover. The damage, however, is quite good. I can usually eliminate standard troops with 1–2 headshots or 2-3 body shots. Equip the Dual Zoom and Bolt Speed attachments for best results.

Stats:

  • Cooling Power: 2/10
  • Range: 9/10
  • Rate of Fire: 2/10
  • Damage: 9/10

Attachments:

  • Dual Zoom - unlocked after 25 kills with the IQA-11
  • Bolt Speed - unlocked after 75 kills with the IQA-11
  • Improved Cooling - unlocked after 150 kills with the IQA-11

Recommended builds and use:

  • Dual Zoom + Bolt Speed (long range build)

3) Cycler Rifle - unlocked after 50 kills with the Specialist class in Co-op

This blaster is a good all-round Specialist weapon. It has a decent rate of fire and good damage and range. However, it is not as useful at short / medium ranges as the A280-CFE, or at long range as the NT-242, making it slightly redundant. However, I certainly find it more useful than the IQA-11, making it worth playing Co-op to unlock it, especially if you’re still working on unlocking the other blasters.

Stats:

  • Cooling Power: 2/10
  • Range: 9/10
  • Rate of Fire: 3/10
  • Damage: 8/10

Attachments:

  • Dual Zoom - unlocked after 25 kills with the Cycler Rifle
  • Reduced Recoil - unlocked after 75 kills with the Cycler Rifle
  • Improved Cooling - unlocked after 150 kills with the Cycler Rifle

Recommended builds and use:

  • Dual Zoom + Reduced Recoil for best accuracy (medium-long range combat)

2) A280-CFE - unlocked after 200 kills with the Specialist class

This blaster is versatile thanks to its quick rate of fire and exceptional cooling power (for a specialist weapon). It is (more or less) a marksman rifle variation of the Assault A280 blasters. I find it is by far the most useful for short-medium range scenarios and fast paced gameplay. If you’re playing in an intense game mode (e.g. Supremacy) on a map with little open space (e.g. Tattooine) this is the Specialist blaster to use. In medium or close range combat, make sure you have the burst mode attachment equipped for maximum damage.

Stats:

  • Cooling Power: 5/10
  • Range: 6/10
  • Rate of Fire: 5/10
  • Damage: 4/10

Attachments:

  • Dual Zoom - unlocked after 25 kills with the A280-CFE
  • Burst Mode - unlocked after 75 kills with the A280-CFE
  • Ion Shot - unlocked after 150 kills with the A280-CFE

Recommended builds and use:

  • Burst mode (Specialist meta for medium range / fast-paced combat)
  • Dual Zoom (medium range build)

1)  NT-242 - unlocked after 400 kills with the Specialist class

The most traditional ‘sniper rifle’ of the specialist blasters, this blaster has a very high damage output and good range, but poor cooling power and rate of fire. I can usually get an elimination with two shots. Make sure you’re on target, as you will be vulnerable between shots. Equip the Improved Cooling and Dual Zoom attachments for much better accuracy and reloading speed

Stats:

  • Cooling Power: 1/10
  • Range: 10/10
  • Rate of Fire: 1/10
  • Damage: 10/10

Attachments:

  • Dual Zoom - unlocked after 25 kills with the NT-242
  • Improved Cooling - unlocked after 75 kills with the NT-242
  • Disruptor Shot - unlocked after 150 kills with the NT-242

Recommended builds and use:

  • Dual Zoom + Improved Cooling (meta specialist build, best for long-range)

Conclusion

Without a doubt, the best Specialist weapons are the NT-242 and the A280-CFE for long and medium range maps respectively. Which of these you choose will depend on your playing style and the mode and map you’re on. I prefer the NT-242 for most maps due to its high damage, range, and accuracy. If, however, you prefer being in the heart of the action, the A280-CFE is the way to go.
