The Forest Best Base Designs

The Forest is a game that takes the survival genre very seriously. One of the things that you will have to do in order to survive in The Forest is building a base. It will provide you with shelter from the dangers of nature, cannibals, and mutants. However, some players often find it hard to choose the whereabouts of their bases, and others are completely clueless on what a cool base would look like. So, we’ve gathered some of the best base designs to help you with everything you need to know about base building in The Forest.

10) Farket's Cheap Yacht Build

Farket displayed the best possible way to build around the Yacht that was ever showcased in The Forest.

Building on the water in The Forest might not be as safe as building on the land, especially by the Yacht. But as always, Farket came through by showing us the safest way possible to do so.

  • Farket’s Yacht Build is one of the safest water structures to be displayed by a Youtuber in The Forest.
  • It might be a bit tricky and dangerous for most players to set the foundations for this base, but Farket does a great job of guiding players through it and providing you with tips and tricks on how to accomplish this build.
  • It won’t cost you much. The Yacht Build is designed in a way that you won’t need much time and effort to gather the resources for it.
  • You won’t be disappointed by the results. This is a build that could be accomplished in the early game days of a playthrough and will benefit you long-term.
  • You can ignore the sharks once you finish the base.

9) Official LGG's Peninsula Base

If you're building yourself a home, at least get one with a view.

This particular base build has a very interesting location. It is set around the great Sacred Tree on the cape near the Yacht. You will find it in the southern part of the peninsula.

Many players try to build their bases there – including myself – but some bases seem to be more practical than others. Official LGG’s Peninsula Base is the base that by far takes the most advantage of this location.

  • This is a very basic base and can be built in your early game-days of a playthrough.
  • The first step here is the main wall. You can change the design of the base any way you like.
  • Once you finish the main wall, the location will become very remote.
  • Who doesn’t like a good view?

The Battlement Wall will allow you to expand later on, and build more so that your base becomes larger.

When building a base in the forest, some players want space, and others settle with security. ZumaArcade achieved both with his Great Wall of Zuma. This is a design that takes a bit more effort than the previous two on our list. But my! Oh my! Is the outcome worth it.

  • Zuma built his base around a small pond. It’s a smart choice in case something actually manages to break in.
  • The essence of this base is its wall. It’s a very effective wall. A structure that stands, and a beautiful design.
  • Rocks! Rocks! Rocks! You’ll need so many rocks to achieve this.
  • The buildings inside the base, especially the main home look very cool and are suited to their tasks (storage, sleep…) But given the large space that will be provided once you build The Great Zuma, you can always change things up or do build entirely different structures. It’s really the wall that is of value here.
  • The Battlement Wall is actually built around the Mega Storage Fort. we’ll be talking about it later on in the article. You’re going to absolutely love it.

 7) Broadbent's Bunker

Broadbent's Bunker is very sophisticated, very creative, and very medieval.

Ever felt like there’s a war between you and the cannibals, with them coming in waves all the time, or surprising you near your base, or even inside it? Broadbent has got just the thing for you.

  • Broadbent’s Bunker is squeezed in at the bottom of a mountain. It gives you a strategic advantage since you’ll only have to defend it from one direction.
  • It’s actually the perfect size of a small home that will be easy to defend. You could also customize the interior any way you want.
  • He built his Bunker in a gap at the far north of the peninsula, but you could do this design basically anywhere that fits its purpose.
  • It might be one of the smallest bases on this list, but you could always expand. Or at least add some walls around the base to make it larger, and start from there.

6) ZumaArcade's Mega Storage Fort

ZumaArcade shows us exactly how to build a beautifully horrifying fort.

ZumaArcade did an astounding job of building a fort large enough for storage and that has a dangerous aura to it. It’s built around his Battlement Wall. Building these two together will set you so much forward in terms of establishing a larger base.

  • You get to decide how much room you’re going to put into this one. And you could always add some more if it ever gets stacked.
  • The decoration possibilities for the Mega Storage Fort have no limits. The Ceiling Skull Lamp on top of the entrance alone gives you so much inspiration to make this into a creepy home. Some effigies at the front and at the ledge behind it would be so badass.
  • The main purpose of this fort is obviously to store your resources. But you could definitely add a Bench and a Fire Pit somewhere inside to make it a bit more comfortable.
  • The Mega Storage Fort gives you the advantage of higher ground. This makes defending it easier and allows you to zipline from this building to another.

6) Farket's Double Stack Wall Burger

Need bigger walls? Then watch Farket's guide on how to build yourself the perfect surroundings of a base.

I think that if you’re ever talking about The Forest, one way, or the other, you’re going to have to talk about Farket. The man did everything that could ever be done in the game and for it. This is why you will always see us talking about him. His accomplishments have no limits. And another one of them is his Double Stack Wall Burger.

  • It might look typical and easy to accomplish when showcased, but this is actually very complicated. This is why he does it on several attempts (you could see that in a couple of episodes before this one).
  • However complicated building this structure is, if you focus on how he manages every layer, you’ll get the gist of it.
  • This is a structure that will take a while to finish. So, pay attention to every resource as you build it (including food and drink).
  • Farket built this base in a cannibal village. But you could decide the whereabouts of yours however you like.
  • This structure can later become the first step to building a small fort or an outpost of your liking. So, pay attention to how big you’re going to build it. You want to make it big enough for your future plans.
This is a fortress that will help you in the long run when larger waves of cannibals and mutants start to attack you.

This impressive fortress looks like something out of a Mount and Blade campaign. The amount of time and effort put into it is so much worth it.

  • The Ultimate Prison Fortress gives you the medieval vibes that always seemed to be missing in survival games. The king of this peninsula will always need a worthy castle.
  • It gives you so much room for storage and to build a small home inside.
  • This structure is well-fortified and could stand its ground against any attack from your hordes of enemies.
  • Weapons are placed strategically all around the fortress to help you fight off any attack.
  • If you get overwhelmed with attacks, you could always use the Glider to leave the castle, and double back to surprise your enemies from the back.

3) GrimyGamer's Ultimate Island Fortress

Ever fantasized about having your own little island where you get to escape from everything in The Forest? Well, GrimyGamer's got just the thing for you.

Having your own island in The Forest is very tempting. You just need to find a small island not far from the mainland.

  • Appropriate isolation is needed in order to survive in The Forest.
  • Make sure you build a Small Raft in order to make your way back to land when needed.
  • You get to decide the height of your walls because living on an island is safer than living on the mainland.
  • Having a Catapult in hand could help you clear out the shore if you ever find it to be crowded with enemies, and you need to get there.

2) ZumaArcade's Magical Medieval Village

This is about the only thing that will make you wish you live in the world of The Forest.

Ever launched The Forest with your friends and felt like every structure you build is getting crammed up, or wanted everyone to have their own independent space? Well, ZumaArcade has the right guidelines for you.

  • You get to have your own piece of land in The Forest.
  • Everything would be well-organized from the inside and out.
  • Going about all your daily tasks like farming, decorating, and organizing will be much safer inside your fortified space.
  • This is absolutely magnificent. It reminds you of how much you could accomplish in The Forest in terms of aesthetics.
The Pond House is a base that will take care of your every need. It's a home.

Every time I watch Farket building something in The Forest, I keep wondering. Is he an architect of some sort? The dude improvised this house on the spot!

  • If you follow his exact guidelines, your Pond House will be well-proportioned, and aesthetic.
  • You will be able to add more floors if you keep adding floors instead of ceilings.
  • Farket built The Pond house around a pond in the Fertile Lands. But you could build yours anywhere in The Forest if you understand the basics of building it.
  • Defending the Pond House on the Tree Bridge at the front entrance will be easier and more fun than having to face your enemies on land since you will have the higher ground.
