I’ll be mentioning the best three T2 planes in the gorgeous world of War Thunder. We will quickly analyze their biggest pros, how they look like and why they kick butts. 

American planes in that tier are not exactly THE best, but they’re pretty good and worth grinding for. Let’s start then, with one of the greatest T2 planes there are in the Yankee faction!

3. P-38G-1 Lightning

Unique-looking plane!

This plane is pretty big for a fighter but despite its size, it can easily make turns and the armaments located in the nose of the plane are quite accurate. Stacked with ammunition, both for the cannon&machine guns, you can stay in combat for long periods of time. The plane is also fast, which means that you can easily outfly other planes chasing you!

Why this plane is dope:

• Good for destroying bombers
• Plenty of ammo
• Decent speed

2. P-39Q-5 Airacobra

Lovely piece of machine!

Wikipedia about this plane says that it’s a jack of all trades, but a master of none - and it is true. Despite the armaments being powerful, they tend to overheat and the reload time is kinda meh. The dive speed is capable of reaching 800 kilometers and decent(but not perfect) turn time. It has 4 heavy machine guns in total and they are great as secondary armaments. Fun plane to play!

Why this plane is dope:

• Pretty decent armaments, 4 MGs are enough to get stuff done
• Alright general speed/diving speed, perfect for boom and zoom action
• Decent turn time, not some slow bomber BS

1. P-51 Mustang

A plane with a cool name!

So why this plane is awesome? Because of it’s name AND because it’s a decent plane. It performs well at higher speeds and because of its armaments+ammunition, it is capable of downing even the heaviest bombers. This plane is so good in fact, it’s even capable of destroying higher rank players. The plane should be kept between medium and high altitudes, it’s decent for boom and zoom tactics and bomber-hunting. Fun to play, incredibly efficient and durable!

Why this plane is dope:

• Performs well at high speeds
• Armaments can shred bombers to bits, especially when you unlock the air-targets ammo
• Can destroy higher BR planes
