At 17:52 UTC ‘Magic: The Gathering’ shut down the matchmaking function for MTG, informing players that “Matchmaking has been disabled as we continue to investigate the issue. Maintenance is on-going.”

‘Magic: The Gathering has promised to make reparations to the players whose games were disrupted during the unforeseen connection issues with the promise of a grant to all “players who had their draft and sealed events forcefully ended as a part of today's extended maintenance.” as per their Twitter.

The scheduled maintenance brings with it a variety of quality of life improvements, bug fixes, and alterations. Also new is MTG Crimson Vow, with eternal night descending on Innistrad as Olivia Voldaren prepares to marry into a position of “ultimate power over the vampire elite.”

And for the final bit of news, at 23:08 UTC on 11 November 2021, ‘Magic: The Gathering’ announced that the matchmaking issues had been resolved and matchmaking could commence as normal.
