[Top 10] Disco Elysium Best Outfits (And How To Get Them)

Style isn't given, it's earned (through sidequests, mostly)

Disco Elysium is a narrative game revolving around the murder mystery that you must solve. You play as a detective who has lost his memories of, well, everything at the bottom of a bottle. You can play as any type of cop, depending on what stats you choose and what skills you upgrade as the game goes. As you explore Revachol, you will come across some pieces of clothing that will get you some benefits, such as skill points or achievements – but how do you put those fashion items together? Don’t worry – today I will be your stylist. Here are 10 Disco Elysium outfits I put together for you.

I didn’t list every clothing category for every outfit, and it’s up to you to fill in the blanks. Pick whatever suits your fashion and skill needs!

10. Yeah, I Was in the Military

This jacket will definitely make others listen to you

The benefit of losing your memories is a chance to invent literally any past for yourself. Why not simply pretend to be a former military member? Become attentive, well-spoken, and collected, like a real cop with military experience (that you definitely have).

9. Fuck the Police

Doesn't that just scream "cool cop"?

You’re not like other cops. You’re hip with the kids. Totally radical. You look more like a punk biker than a cop, and you carry yourself like a biker, too. You are empathetic, but take no crap from nobody ‘cause you’re so strong and intimidating.

Items needed and how to get them:

  • Glasses: Jamrock Biker-Cop Sunglasses [+1 Empathy, -1 Logic]

From day 3 onwards, these can be found near the raised roadway on the far side of the water lock. You would need a tool to open the container the sunglasses are in.

  • Jacket: Leather Jacket Fuck the World [+1 Half Light, -1 Rhetoric]

Talk to the Skulls next to Kim’s car and pass an extremely hard Half Light check on day 4 and onwards.

  • Shirt: T-Shirt Man From Hjeimdall [+1 Physical Instrument, +1 Shivers, -2 Authority]

6. Man of Enamel

This T-500 is somehow intimidating while also impossible to take seriously

A detective’s work is dangerous, so you better suit up in this sturdy vitreous enamel armor. You will look distinctly un-fashionable, but nonetheless intimidating and very… durable? The cuirass can stop a bullet, by the way, if that ever comes in handy.

Equipping at least one piece of T-500 armor unlocks the Fairweather T-500 thought. Upon internalizing, it would lower your Savoir Faire by 1 and raise your Hand/Eye Coordination by 2 (but only against enemies in FT-500 armor).

Equipping all four armor pieces would unlock the Fairweather t-500 Vitreous Enamel achievement.

Items needed and how to get them:

  • Hat: Fairweather T-500 Helmet [+1 Half Light, -1 Suggestion]

From day 3 onwards, the helmet can be found in a nest on the islet with the ruins.

  • Shoes: Fairweather T-500 Greaves [+2 Authority, -1 Composure]

Once you take the corpse down, ditch Kim and take the shoes from the corpse. Clean the greaves in the hotel kitchen.

5. Hobocop

This plastic bag is essential for the Hobocop aesthetic

You don’t even remember where your house is, so embrace the hobocop. These items will add points to the skills vital for surviving out on the streets. Gotta get by somehow!

4. The Classic Detective

There is a bit of a vibe mismatch going on between you and Kim

You are the detective around here, and you gotta look the part. The long coat, the wide-brim hat, the dress shoes – anyone looking at you can tell you know how to solve a crime. Mostly because you look like everyone’s favorite fictional detective Dick Mullen, though.

Once you get the hat and the jacket, read Dick Mullen and the Mistaken Identity, then ask Annette and Plaisance for the ending. Wear your outfit, click the orb – and boom! That’s how you get the Modus: Mullen achievement!

Items needed and how to get them:

  • Hat: Dick Mullen’s Hat [+1 Encyclopedia]

Talk to the bookstore owner’s daughter about being a detective and deduce why she bites her nails. Then ask the bookstore owner to let her daughter in and talk to her again inside the store.

  • Jacket: Pinball Maker’s Coat [+1 Empathy, +1 Hand-Eye Coordination]

The coat is located behind the blue door in the hotel kitchen.

  • Shirt: White Satin Shirt [+1 Conceptualization, -1 Suggestion]

The shirt is hanging in your hotel room shower at the start of the game.

3. Brand-loyal Athlete

Pure brand-loyal style!

FALN is a company that makes cars and, more importantly, fashionable sportswear. Roam Martinaise decked out in some brand athletic gear like a real sporty cop you are - strong, dexterous, and a little intimidating. If you put more points into Intellect and/or Psyche, these items would help you compensate for the lack of physical abilities.

Items needed and how to get them:

On day 3 and after, you will be able to find the pipo in the container in the southwesternmost area of the boardwalk, north-east of the execution wall.

These gloves can be found in the Harbor area near Evart’s container.

  • Pants: FALN "Modular" Track Pants [+1 Savoir Faire, +1 Physical Instrument]

This is a hard piece to get. Talk to Cuno about the clothing from the dumpster. You would need to pass a big Empathy check with him, too, to be on his good side. He will offer to sell you the pants for 15 Reál.

  • Shoes: FALN "Ultra" Series Sneakers [+1 Reaction Speed, +1 Hand/Eye Coordination, -1 Encyclopedia]

Pass a Conceptualization check while talking to Siileng, then purchase the sneakers from the box next to him for 50 Reál.

2. Drama King

You look irresistible... In some way or other. Either way, everyone is definitely looking at you.

What are you, some kind of superstar? Maybe so! Show off your wild disco side, make a show, knock some NPCs off their feet with your immaculate fashion sense. This outfit grants you the powers of drama and drug use - truly a must for any self-respecting cop. You will also look really funny the whole time. You’re welcome.

1. The Real Policeman

Everyone keeps telling you you’re a cop, but your reflection in the mirror isn’t so certain. Maybe put on the Revachol Citizens Militia uniform and look like a policeman for once? You can finally be authoritative and really understand the inner workings of the police force you appear to be a part of.
