Butchering armies and ransacking treasures, Axe is a feared mogul in all the realms. The incessant vigor and strange charm of the red beast have made him one of the most famous heroes in Dota.
Apart from his stature and demeanor, Axe has various qualities that make him a devastating laner. This includes everything from high armor to high DPS spells. This explains the high pick rate of this hero. We bring you the best 10 Axe players from around the world!
10. Fbz
This player is relatively new to the pro Dota scene, hence you may not have heard of him before. Though he has found instant success in the SEA region with his team BOOM. Fbz’s excellent and calculated playstyle has made us include him on this list!
Fbz loves playing the offlane and is known to play a wide variety of heroes. These include heroes that provide crowd control and immense tempo. Even in the losing games, Fbz puts up a show with his impressive game knowledge and map awareness. He is one of the most sought-after players in the SEA region.
Fbz has a very calm and slow-paced playstyle. This means that he prioritizes farm and levels over kills, but he does not shy away when the iron is hot! Fbz loves to rotate as early as he can on his Axe, often when he gets his ultimate. Rushing Blink Dagger along with the Blade mail is preferred by him due to the mobility and resistance it provides!

9. Monkeys Forever
With such a peculiar name, you may start doubting this player’s skills. But there is not much to doubt as his gameplay speaks for himself. Staying consistently high ranked and entertaining the viewers while streaming at the same time is considered to be a hard task by most players. Monkeys defies all the odds and remains one of the strongest offlaners in the NA dota scene.
Monkeys is a reputed Dota veteran, he has found his calling in streaming and has managed to successfully attract an audience of loyal watchers and subscribers. Along with being an impressive player, he is also PMA and encourages his watchers to do the same. Axe is one of the few heroes in his pool which has been constantly the talk of the town.

8. IceIceIce
The man, the troll, the legend himself, Iceiceice is one of the best players to emerge out of the SEA region. Despite the age-related stigma in esports, Ice continues to play professionally and excels at doing so. He is regarded as one of the last standing old guards of Dota.
Ice is an exceptional player, with in-depth knowledge of the game. He is known to be a silent mastermind while having fun in-game and trolling his opponents every chance he gets! There are a lot of heroes he loves to play, Axe falls in this category! Ice loves to maximize this hero’s potential by harassing his enemies with Battle Hunger and utilizing his Counter Helix passive efficiently.
Ice has a lot of tricks up his sleeve! He loves to play an offensive Axe, often seeing harassing the enemy supports and chasing them down to decimate them. 7. DM
Unpredictable, Dynamic, Versatile are all the names that suit DM’s playstyle. Beginning his pro Dota journey as a mid-player, he quickly shifted focus to the offlane which became his calling. He is known to outperform his enemies by a margin if given his favorite heroes, and trust us when we say this, he has a lot of favorite heroes!
Axe is one of DM’s most spammed heroes in the offlane, as he has reached the Platinum tier on this hero! Being a bully in the lane is a specialty of his, a trait that is often overlooked in the offlane. Bullying his enemies allows him to control the pace of the game and secure more farm, which he can do quite well as the Axe!
Axe is played quite aggressively by DM, jumping on heroes, destroying enemy supports, shoving foes out of the lane, and ganking enemies quite early on, proving that he is an active laner! Blink Dagger, Force Staff, Aghanim’s Shard, Blade Mail, Heart of Tarrasque, Assault Cuirass are some of the most common items built by DM.

6. Zai
Zai made his splash on the competitive scene at a very young age, he lead big teams to victory with his impressive gameplay. He is also very versatile and has played a wide range of roles throughout his pro career.
Zai is now playing the offlane role, he is often seeing picking bizarre heroes on his streams. Axe remains his favorite to chill after intense games, and he is quite good at it! Zai is always impressive on his Axe, jumping into enemy backlines landing amazing calls, and catching his enemies off-guard!
Axe is played very aggressively in lane by Zai, often relying on levels and then rotating to other lanes for kills. Zai loves to build initiating items, including Blink Dagger and Force Staff which are later combined with Blade Mail and Black King Bar which turn him into a nightmare! There is no escape if you let Zai acquire these items!

5. Attacker
There aren’t many streamers who are consistent enough to float in the top 100 MMR leaderboards in Dota, Attacker is an exception. With over 4,000 games played on this hero, he is known to be synonymous with Kunkka, though this is not the only hero he is good at! Apart from being a talented streamer, he is part of the famous Team Nigma Galaxy.
Attacker is often considered to be one of the best Axe players in the game. His breathtaking skills are often evident in every game he plays. He exhibits clever and interesting gameplay, often teaching us newbies some unseen tactics on stream. He is also given credit for introducing offlane and support Axe, which was once a fad in the pro scene.
Primarily playing Axe in the off-lane, Attacker builds items that offer him great damage, initiation, and resistance. This includes items such as Blade Mail, Blink Dagger, Shadow Blade, Black King Bar. There is no way you can contain this beast if you do not gank him repeatedly in the early game! Attacker is also known to invent new item builds for Axe, which changes eventually with the meta.

4. KheZu
Khezu has been in the MOBA scene for over a decade, most of his expertise comes from HoN. His switch to Dota was an instant success, he has played and captained various teams over the years, often coaching on the side. He is seen having friendly banter on his streams as well.
Khezu is primarily an offlane player and he is quite the versatile one. He rarely spams any heroes but when he does, he ends up winning all his games! Axe is one of his comfort heroes, often playing it in despair. His builds and playstyle are guaranteed to confuse new players, there is a lot to learn from this genius!
The standard item build on Axe by Khezu includes Blink Dagger, Force Staff, Eul’s Scepter, Aghanim’s Shard Black King Bar. There are a few other situational items that guarantee your sustain in fights such as Octrain Core and Shadow Blade. Khezu focuses on ulting only the top priority targets, this means he does not go for the flashy 5 man calls.

3. Faith_Bian
Not all the players in the mentioned list have won the prestigious TI, Faith_Bian is one of the few Chinese players to have done the unthinkable. Winning Ti at a very young age did not reduce his hunger to compete and win further tournaments, as he is quite dedicated to the game.
Offlane is the primary lane played by Faith_Bian, it is one of the only lanes where Axe suits the most. His threatening aura in-game is quite the opposite of his real-life humble persona. He is often considered to be one of the most skilled offlaners from the CN region! Winning Ti has only increased his hunger for the game!
Axe is a lethal hero and Faith_Bian is a lethal player, one fits the other like a glove! He loves opting for items such as the Blink Dagger, Blade Mail, Boots of Travel, Black King Bar which allow him to use his spells to the fullest without worrying a bit about his HP and resistance. If not controlled, his Axe can quite easily capture the tempo of the game!

2. Mind_ControL
This beast from Bulgaria has garnered praise from fans all around the world for his intense gameplay. MinD_ControL has been immensely popular in the European region due to his high game sense and fast-paced gameplay. He is also one of the few Ti winners on this list!
Versatility has been the name of the game for MC, he has every other offlane hero in the Gold or Platinum tier. He is known to exhibit some flashy gameplay and has been a pivotal reason behind Liquid’s victory at Ti7. He is often seen spamming Axe in pub games, building rather peculiar items but still winning the game!
MC changes build according to the heroes he is facing. Some standard items include Blink Dagger, Shadow Blade, Blade Mail, Aghanim’s Scepter, Shard, and even a Lotus Orb at times. These items are considered to be essential on Axe, as they offer initiation and sustain potential. Your enemies can’t survive if you follow this build!

Ceb was always known as a misfit in the pro scene but he overcame all his problems to go on and both coach and play in the best dota team in history. Ceb is a dota veteran, along with that he is an extremely versatile player. His world-famous Axe gameplay in the third game of the grand finals vs PSG.LGD in Ti8 still gives goosebumps to millions of fans all around the world.
Axe is played as a utility core hero by Ceb, often opting for team items that provide initiation and resistance. Ceb builds items such as Blink Dagger, Pipe of Insight, Blade Mail, Force Staff before opting for the Black King Bar. This build is quite useful to save your teams and provide them with endurance in team fights!
