[Top 15] Dota 2 Best Turbo Heroes

A typical game of Dota can be taxing to play as it requires all of your focus and energy, as well as a good chunk of your time. Not all players have the same free time to sit back and play a potential one-hour-long game. Some players just want to fight while also saving time, hence the Turbo mode. The game mode has similar rules as All Pick, but you gain gold and XP faster, along with other things such as the pick phase and ban phase all being done faster. Pretty much everything that you can think of, is faster in this game mode, hence saving time for players in a hurry.

Even though this is a light-hearted game mode, it still requires the right hero to dominate the game. Some heroes are naturally fast-paced, hence they can adapt well to this game mode, giving you an edge over your foes. We bring you the Best 15 Turbo Heroes that are dominant in the current meta.

What is Turbo mode?

  • A typical game of Turbo mode is essentially 1/3rd the duration of an average Dota game.
  • The purpose of this mode is to have short yet intense matches where all the rules of the All Pick mode are applicable, except the draft time is short, XP and gold gain is increased anywhere it is applicable (Kills, Wisdom, and Bounty Runes)
  • There is no loss of gold on a death, neutral items drop faster, and mega creeps are more powerful. In a nutshell, everyone is powerful in this mode and the games are generally short.
  • Essentially this mode is Dota on steroids, hence it requires fast-paced yet relevant heroes who can end up triumphant on the battlefield.

15. Timbersaw

The mighty Timbersaw fares extremely well against melee and ranged heroes alike in the Turbo mode. He is quite a dominating force in Turbo mode as the enemy does not have much resistance to his magical and pure damage. Timbersaw can dictate the pace of the game with his moves, due to him being such a tanky hero. Most enemies can surely hinder Timber’s gameplay but the latter does not rely on attack damage to kill creeps or heroes. His abilities are enough to decimate his enemies.

This forces his foes to jungle early on in the game, which makes him lag in the farm and XP department. Timber can triumph in the late game as well if he is given free rein, he can purchase various items which allow him to maintain control and dominance against his foes, including Eul’s Scepter of Divinity or Heaven’s Halberd. Even if the enemies manage to secure a decent farm, Timber’s Reactive armor stops Lone Druid from advancing any further and ignoring him in teamfights.

Why is Timbersaw a great turbo hero?

  • Timbersaw is a tanky hero, thanks to Reactive Armor, making him withstand heaps of damage in the early game in this mode
  • Timbersaw, with the help of all his AoE abilities, can farm quickly and engage in battle with his useful items
  • Timbersaw’s high magical damage is a menace for squishy heroes to deal with in this mode

14. Zeus

Zeus, the Thundergod is quite undoubtedly a great Turbo pick if you are just starting in the game. Zeus fares extremely well if he is laning against certain heroes as he can smite them down in the early game as soon as he reaches level six. This allows him to gank other lanes without even being there! Zeus is also an excellent farmer, allowing him to acquire multiple items to help him further dominate the game. The game gets slightly icky if the enemies get magic resistance items but as long as Zeus is in the backlines, he can pump out enough damage to turn the tides in his favor.

Zeus acquires items like Aether Lens and Veil of Discord, squish mid heroes can’t handle the DPS, which proves to be extremely lethal. Ideally, most heroes do not want to build a BKB, but facing a magical Zeus will force them to opt for it, slowing down their progress on other more useful items, which can give his carry an edge over them in the late game. The late game is where Zeus is known to shine bright like a star.

Why is Zeus a great turbo hero?

  • Zeus' abilities deal high amounts of burst magical damage, which is highly useful in the turbo mode as most heroes just want to fight it out quickly.
  • Zeus’ famous combo of Thundergod’s Wrath into Nimbus can decimate squishy enemy heroes in the game, it can further be worsened if Zeus purchases a Refresher’s Orb which allows him to do twice the damage
  • Zeus has multiple AoE spells which help him farm fast and acquire items quicker in this mode

13. Naga Siren

Not even the water gods can handle the havoc of this breathtaking siren. Naga emerges from the deep seas as a beautiful yet threatening entity whose voice can cure the worst diseases! She deals some heavy physical damage right off the get-go, making her a perfect turbo hero. Along with her damage, she can also lock enemies down with her net or the ultimate. You may pierce the ultimate with BKB, but with her Aghanim’s Scepter, you can’t pierce the net. She can pin you down and rip you into pieces with the assistance of her mirror illusions.

The devastating force of Naga Siren is felt from the mid-game as she acquires certain items which help her farm quickly as well as stand her ground, making her tanky. Naga indeed requires more of her items to have an impact, but when she does acquire those items, there is no way you can put an end to her destruction. She cuts deep and drowns her enemies with her Rip Tide.

What makes Naga Siren a great turbo hero?

  • Naga has Rip Tide which deals AoE damage while also reducing enemy armor, making her a vital carry hero in this mode
  • Naga can also split push with her mirror illusions, while she farms away securely in the jungle, proving her reliability as a carry hero

12. Sven

Sven, the rogue knight, is a deadly fit in the Turbo mode. His toolkit allows him to lock down enemies or charge at them with increased movement speed, making it impossible for them to escape his wrath. Sven's abilities are enough to dominate the battlefield, with items only complementing his strength in team fights. Sven’s pub appearances were low before this patch, but with the buffs to his cleave and ultimate, he has quickly risen through the ranks as one of the most-played carries heroes in this meta.

There are several reasons why Sven is considered a powerful turbo hero. His toolkit allows him to dominate and lock down even the toughest enemies, while his farming ability and item progression enable him to gain a significant advantage as the game progresses. Sven is capable of taking on entire teams by himself, especially in the late game, making him a nightmare for weaker opponents. His strength lies in his ability to face multiple heroes at once without crumbling, thanks to items like Satanic, Daedalus, and his massive physical damage.

What makes Sven a great turbo hero?

  • Sven’s cleave allows him to deal high damage in an AoE, which makes him easy for him to farm creeps and deal damage to multiple heroes in a fight if combined with his ultimate.
  • Warcry provides Sven and his nearby allies with increased movement speed as well as armor which help them sustain a teamfight.
  • Sven can also lock enemy’s down with his Storm Hammer which stuns multiple units in an AoE, allowing him to mow down his enemies while they’re stunned.
  • Sven has the toolkit to dominate the battlefield and fight multiple heroes at once.

11. Kunkka

The Admiral almighty himself! Kunkka is known to be a great turbo hero, this is due to his strength gain, armor, and HP. His physical damage is also naturally high from the early levels. He can effortlessly survive ganks as his high-status resistance and HP pool come to the rescue. His ultimate proves to be of great use as well as it makes sure he and his allies take the least damage in fights, allowing the fight to be in their favor. The tanky nature of Kunkka is only amplified further by high armor and high HP items.

Just like most heroes on this list, Kunkka is suited for Turbo mode due to his naturally fast-paced gameplay. If Kunkka is let loose in the later stages of the game then there is no way the enemy team recovers from this deficit. Kunkka is an exceptional laner if we theorize a purely 1v1 matchup, he ensures that his enemies are shoved away from the lane, reducing their farm efficiency. Sure, some heroes are highly effective in the late stages but Kunkka can match their farm due to his AoE physical damage which his foes can’t negate easily.

What makes Kunkka a great turbo hero?

  • Kunkka farms exceptionally in this mode due to his Tidebringer ability, making him acquire gold even faster than before
  • Kunkka’s Torrent and Boat combination makes it hard for enemies to contest him or gank him in this mode, while he has the upper hand to gank them whenever he wishes to
  • Kunkka has various active abilities which make him a fun turbo hero as he can quickly cause havoc on the battlefield

10. Spectre

If there is one Turbo hero that has given multiple nightmares to us, then it has to be Spectre! She knows her way around catching heroes off-guard, especially catching them when they least expect it. Spectre is highly devastating due to her mobility which allows her to escape or initiate the teamfights. Her high damage is amplified when she catches enemy heroes all by themselves, which never ends well for them! Haunt is an excellent spell that has great potential to cause deep wounds in the enemy gameplay, decimating squishy heroes in the Turbo mode.

Spectre does not even need multiple items to have an impact on the game. Spectre relies more on levels, which allow her to deal more damage and is also highly team-fight-oriented. But, in Turbo mode, she can farm faster than ever, ensuring that she has the upper hand when it comes to lane dominance and teamfight potential. She may lack in the farming department in the early game but it's the kills and ganks that reward her with gold, making her devastating in the late game.

What makes Spectre a great turbo hero?

  • Spectre has an immense global presence with her ultimate, which allows her to hunt squishy heroes and mow them down if they’re alone on the map.
  • Spectre’s lane dominance is something that is both respected and feared since she is a powerful laner and may fetch multiple kills just in the laning phase in this mode.
  • Spectre farms quickly thanks to Dispersion and Spectral Dagger, allowing her to push lanes quickly and acquire fighting items like Radiance or Basher

9. Ember Spirit

Behold the wise Xin! The humble Ember Spirit is widely regarded as one of the best mid-heroes in the game (which also applies to the Turbo mode). This is primarily due to his escape potential. He is known to build into many different routes, making him a flexible pick against pretty much all the heroes. He is also known to farm comparatively faster due to his wide range of AoE abilities, which combined with his ultimate ensures his menacing global presence, scaring his allies off and making them vulnerable. Ember is not a common sight in the current patch, but in certain matchups he makes it feel like a cakewalk.

The fiery spirit of this Ember is unparalleled and it is not a surprise that he is back into the meta! Ember is an exceptional counter to most enemies, due to his immense physical damage as well as his mobility which allows him to chase and further lock the enemy down. Being in a pure 1v1 matchup, especially against ranged heroes can be a hard task, especially in the late stages of the game, but Ember defies all odds and is considered to be a great counter to enemies simply due to his AoE damage output along with the ability to soak up some serious damage.

Why is Ember Spirit a great turbo hero?

  • Ember has various AoE abilities which allow him to deal high damage to his foes in turbo and also allow him to control the crowd
  • Ember is a quintessential turbo hero due to his fast-paced gameplay which is further amplified in the mode

8. Sniper

A Turbo hero list is never complete without the inclusion of certain troublemaking and menacing heroes. Sniper fills that void, with his annoying voice and even annoying set of abilities. Sniper is a highly dominant hero if he has a decent lane, which translates into a significant early-game farm. The dwarf marksman builds high damage dealing items like Maelstorm, Monkey King Bar, Daedalus, etc. and his abilities allow him to be a thorn in the side with increased attack range, slow, knockback, and burst damage! Which acts as a cherry on top in the fast-paced Turbo games.

The late game can be quite tricky for the Sniper as enemies can close the gap with the help of items like Blink Dagger or Shadow Blade, as they allow him to get on top of the dwarf and beat him down. Positioning is always the key while playing against such mobile heroes. A good Sniper player can have an impact in teamfights without being in the forefront. All his items grant him ungodly amounts of damage which can ruin the game of his foes if they do not lock him down.

Why is Sniper a great turbo hero?

  • Sniper is a highly annoying hero due to his range and poking potential, making him a menace in the turbo mode
  • Sniper is a quick team fighter as he relies more on his spells than items to be relevant in a fight.
  • Sniper also farms quickly, making him acquire his items much faster as compared to his enemies

7. Bristleback

Bristleback can be on the Mount Rushmore of the best Turbo Heroes. He is an exceptional tanky and versatile hero because he can keep on disrupting his lane by constantly harassing other heroes without much retaliation due to his high armor and tanky nature thanks to his Bristleback ability. Enemies virtually do zero damage to Bristleback as he has decent HP and armor along with decent armor reduction, while most heroes have low armor as they lane against this grumpy porcupine. He also farms exceptionally and does a great deal of damage to squishy heroes right from the early game, while they need more levels to prove any useful against him.

There are many reasons why Bristleback has quite literally been a thorn in the side of most heroes in the current meta. He takes no damage while dealing quite a ton of damage in return to him. He is an obnoxious laner, he is but he is quite the fun hero to play since all he does is spam his spells without thinking too much, which he can do effortlessly as he is backed by his insanely high armor, which makes him such a delight for new players to pick. He makes them feel invincible!

Why is Bristleback a great turbo hero?

  • Bristle also has a low cooldown on his spells, making him highly reliable as a spellcaster and team fighter
  • Bristleback is highly tanky, making him stand his ground and soak up all the damage for his enemies in this mode
  • Along with being a tanky hero, Bristleback also deals a ton of damage, making him a relevant turbo-mode pick

6. Luna

Luna, the Moon rider, is a popular hero for the Turbo mode. Her farming abilities and massive AoE damage output make her a force to be reckoned with. Although laning can be tough for Luna, she can fall back on the jungle to farm with the help of her Moon Glaives and decent early-game damage. Luna is a great pick for dealing with hybrid damage as her ultimate Eclipse deals an ungodly amount of magical damage which complements her physical damage. In 7.33, we see Luna back in action as she is constantly picked due to the buffs to her ultimate and also to the general items she builds in the late game.

Luna's quick farming abilities and massive AoE damage output make her a prime pick for dealing with enemy heroes. She clears waves quickly, allowing her to farm and split push at an impressive pace. Other carry heroes often struggle to keep up with Luna if the game goes on for more than 40 minutes. Additionally, Luna can be paired with heroes who have massive crowd-control abilities, giving them an advantage over their weaker opponents.

What makes Luna a great turbo hero?

  • Luna has high base damage, and Moon Glaives allow her to deal immense damage in an AoE, making her a terrific turbo hero
  • Luna also is an excellent spellcaster and fighting hero, which makes her the perfect fit for this mode due to her magical damage potential

https://dota2.fandom.com/wiki/Luna

5. Medusa

Medusa may be a controversial choice for this mode, as she is known to be a slow farmer, but with the buffs to her Mana Shield, the stone-cold, serpentine warrior is quite a hard nut to crack. Medusa is an ultra late-game hero, even if her early game is disastrous, she can bounce back and turn the game around just with one fight. Her tankiness allows her to be the center of the fight without worrying much about her enemies, which she can still crack down on thanks to her immense attack damage. If not ganked, she can perpetually farm and destroy all enemies and win the game even in a 1v5 situation.

If having a good game, Medusa is known to farm faster than most carry heroes. Agreed, some heroes have higher mobility than her, but Medusa has sustainability and effective damage, making her an ideal hero in the later stages of the game due to how well she fares against multiple heroes. This is something that squishy carry heroes can’t excel at. All the attack modifiers and damage are too hot for the enemy team to handle even in the late game, making most players eventually tap out against this serpentine warrior.

Why is Medusa a great turbo hero?

  • With the buff to Mana Shield, you can pick Medusa in turbo mode for her high tank potential as well as her farming abilities
  • Medusa farms extremely fast, making her purchase items quicker than her foes in this mode
  • Medusa’s ultimate, Stone Gaze, makes her an excellent team fighter compared to most carries that take ages to come online.

4. Anti-Mage

Playing Anti-Mage in a normal game feels the same way it feels to play him in Turbo mode, the hero is just a quick farmer! He has what you need to split-push lanes which he can do effortlessly due to his farming speed. He is known to decimate his foes with both Mana Break and Mana Void. An early-game AM can effortlessly decimate enemy mana and make them retreat to base or waste gold to compensate. This will slow down their farm while AM is known to farm at a faster pace, allowing him to get ahead in the net worth within no time.

In the Turbo mode, most carry heroes tend to lose tempo in the late game while Anti-Mage only does swimmingly there by split-pushing lanes and essentially being everywhere on the map. Magic and spell-casting heroes stand no chance when a six-slotted AM pounces on them thanks to Blink and decimates them within no time. Without a doubt, something is soothing about witnessing a fully farmed Anti-Mage beat down his enemies with the help of Mana Void. He can essentially one-shot the entire enemy team if he catches them lacking in the mana department.

What makes Anti-Mage a great turbo hero?

  • Anti-Mage can snowball well when he gets his Battlefury, allowing him to farm and push lanes quicker in this mode.
  • Anti-Mage is highly mobile thanks to the Blink spell, making it easy for him to navigate through the map to find kills and farm
  • He can split-push well and has excellent mobility, allowing him to rat towers if needed in this mode since towers are highly weak and susceptible to high damage

3. Arc Warden

Zet, the Arc Warden is notorious for his Turbo mode shenanigans. Arc is a natural split-pusher and valiant team fighter, hence ticking both boxes required for a Turbo mode hero. His foes know no way of countering him, as there are often two of him with his ultimate. He is known to deal massive damage right off the bat, Arc secures the laning phase versus his opponent. He is also a quick farmer, as he can just duplicate and make his clone push out the lane while he farms the jungle. Late-game Arc Warden can disable and obliterate enemies within a few hits and clicks of spells.

With the help of his Tempest Double, Arc Warden can split push and control multiple areas of the map, forcing enemies to spread out and defend against his relentless pressure. And in team fights, he can deal massive damage with his spells and disable key targets, making him a force to be reckoned with in the Turbo mode. Arc loves items such as Manta Style, Orchid ofMalovalence, and Silver Edge which provide him with the right balance of disable, escape, and stats which allow him to be a formidable force in the teamfight and stand his ground.

Why is Arc Warden a great turbo hero?

  • Arc Warden is known to build items such as Mjollnir and Hand of Midas which help him push lanes and farm fast; if combined with his Tempest Double, he can farm twice the gold in the same time frame, making him a powerful turbo hero
  • Arc Warden also has extremely unique abilities which supplement his ability to fight and get the most out of the game, hence he can be called an efficient team fighter.
  • Arc is a quick farmer and also a great split-pusher, which makes him relevant in the Turbo mode.

2. Alchemist

Turbo mode and Alchemist go hand in hand as both are naturally fast-paced and high-octane. The greedy Alchemist dominates the Turbo mode with his powerful Orc who guides him around the battlefield. With his Greevil’s Greed talent, it’s expected that he has at least 2 items before the 20-minute mark in-game. With armor reduction from Acid Spray and Unstable Concoction, he can lock enemies down and give them a run for their money with his ultimate. His enemies find it quite impossible to out farm him, his pace is quite unparalleled if he is having a good time. With Greevil’s Greed now being an innate ability, Alchemist enjoys the surge of gold right from level 1.

In this mode, Alchemist’s potential is not only limited to his items but his abilities as well. With the help of Manta Style, he can dispel any debuffs or silence and create illusions to further confuse his enemies, Shiva's Guard gives him a powerful AoE slow armor, making it difficult for enemies to approach him. Alchemist needs mobility in a teamfight, which is fulfilled by Overwhelming Blink which satisfies his mobility needs while also granting him immense damage and strength to withstand a long skirmish. The mentioned items help Alchemist wreak havoc if acquired early on in the game.

Why is Alchemist a great turbo hero?

  • Alchemist is a highly lethal Turbo hero because of his fast-paced gameplay and keenness to hit early-game item timings which are further amplified in this mode.
  • Alchemist is also a dominant team fighter, as he has tools to reduce enemy armor and stun them, hence, disabling them from the teamfight.
  • Alchemist’s ultimate keeps him resilient through a teamfight by increasing his HP regen and attack speed, making him better than most core heroes in the Turbo mode.

1. Tinker

The genius mechanical maniac is known to tinker around with gadgets and fry weak foes with lasers and rockets. Tinker is an ideal turbo hero due to his impeccable ability to deal high amounts of damage within a short duration. He is a highly active laner who does not fall off in the early game, thanks to his shield which keeps him tanky. Even if Tinker has a bad lane, he can just rotate to the other lanes to get kills and help his lagging teammates.

Most low magic resistance heroes are weak laners against Tinker and thus stand no chance as they will always be targeted with constant harassment in the form of magical damage from rockets and lasers. With the addition of the Shield, Tinker can easily escape or otherwise initiate and lock enemies down with his annoying Scythe and Rearm combo. Without a Black King Bar, enemies have no means of staying resilient in a teamfight, let alone have any means of gap closing even if they manage to farm enough.

Why Tinker is a great turbo hero?

  • Tinker has multiple spells which allow him to deal high magical damage right from the early game, making him a great fit for the turbo mode
  • Tinker also can refresh his spells with his ultimate, which allows him to constantly keep on dishing out high damage
  • Tinker is an essential Turbo mode hero due to the quick levels he gets, making him dish out high damage when he gets his ultimate, Rearm.
  • Tinker is the essential Turbo hero due to the fast-paced gameplay that this hero naturally has, making him fit perfectly into this mode
