[Top 10] Fallout New Vegas Best Perks

(Need that 7)

Was up fellow Fallout fans! Your friendly neighborhood Shounen Man here with another Fallout New Vegas list to answer the burning questions within you. Today we will be focusing on the awesome list of perks that are available to you in New Vegas. Which ones do you think are the best? The ones that open dialogue options or maybe the ones that add combat effects? Today we are going to find out which of the perks are the 10 best?

10. Intense Training

(He's been doing pushups)

Coming in at number 10 we have Intense Training! It’s quite possibly one of my favorite perks from all the fallout games. Intense training allows you to add a point to any of your base attributes. It’s so low on this list due to it being a very simplistic perk that doesn’t necessarily add anything unique to your playthrough.

Why Intense Training is great:

  • Intense training allows you to go beyond the limits of the original character creation process. Adding more points to your base attributes.
  • Intense Training opens up dialogue options that you wouldn’t normally be able to see by increasing your attributes.
  • It’s a simple perk that allows you to make your character a master of all trades by getting all its ranks.

9. Lady Killer/Cherchez La Femme

(Oh no look out!)

Coming in at number 9 we have Black Widow/Cherchez La Femme! Here we have a set of perks that has some interesting effects. They aim to make you a suave smooth talker and do a pretty good job at it. These particular perks give you a 10% increase in damage to the opposite sex respectively.

Why Lady Killer/Cherchez La Femme is great:

  • Sometimes with the opposite sex, you will be offered opportunities for dialogue options you wouldn’t see without it.
  • This perk also adds the ability to kill the person you’re talking to. It’s a pretty cool feature that plays out in interesting ways.
  • Overall the damage output is a fairly nice topper to an already very awesome perk that offers new content to be a part of.

8. Swift Learner

(Do you know how to fix that)

Coming in at number 8 we have Swift Learner! This is a very simple perk in its approach to enriching your gameplay experience. The Swift Learner Perk earns you 10% more experience points from all sources in the game. It’s great to have that little bit of punch up to experience gain when you’re grinding for that level.

Why Swift Learner is great:

  • Adding a bonus to your experience gain really helps when your one level away from the skill gain to open that box you’ve had your eye on.
  • The Swift Learner experience gain will let you progress through the game at a faster rate due to your quicker strength gain.
  • This perk makes getting to all your perks that much easier which is one of the funniest parts of the game. You’ll gain perks quicker which is always a plus.

7. Strong Back

(He never skips leg day)

Coming in at number 7 we have Strong Back! The Strong Back perk is a very helpful option for any Mojave traveling courier to choose. Ever been looting and have to make a decision between items in your inventory and new stuff you’ve found? Well, that’s what this perk helps out with by adding 50 points to your carry weight.

Why Strong Back is great:

  • Looting for new weapons, armors and items are quite possibly one of the best parts about New Vegas. The Strong Back perk does a great job in aiding you with your looting.
  • Being able to carry more also adds to your potential arsenal that you can bring to battle. Grab this perk and all of a sudden you got room for that Fatman you found.
  • Strong Back is a sleeping giant for players early on in the game, giving them that extra space they need to build their character up.

6. Tag!

(You're it!)

Coming in at number 6 we have Tag! In character creation, you get to tag three skills. When you do this you gain 15 skill points respectively. Tag is a straightforward perk that allows you to tag a fourth skill to gain another 15 point increase. With the Tag perk, you can get a quick increase on a skill.

Why Tag is great:

  • The Tag perk is a convenient option to have. Giving you a 15 point increase to a skill can be useful in a pinch.
  • Got a lock you can't open or a computer you can't hack. Tag is the perk to get you by that.
  • It's fast and easy to utilize Tag in the most efficient way.

5. Bloody Mess

(Who's cleaning that up!?)

Coming in at number 5 we have Bloody Mess! This is a very interesting perk to gain. It's not necessarily the most practical but there is no arguing that it adds a lot of fun to any New Vegas playthrough. Whether you're a good courier just trying to make your way or you're a raider looking to rule, this perk is for you.

Why Bloody Mess is great:

  • First and foremost the Bloody Mess perk adds the chance that your enemies might explode into a ball of gore and body parts.
  • If the highly entertaining explosions don't grab your attention maybe the 5% increase to all damage outputs will.
  • Ultimately this perk is all about fun and empowerment. Nothing makes you feel stronger than punching someone only to have them explode like you were from the fist of the north star.

4. Here and Now

(They grow up so fast)

Coming in at number 4 we have Here and Now! Here and Now is a convenience perk. It instantly gains you a level up which comes with all the benefits of a normal level gain. Gaining an immediate level can be very useful in a lot of different situations.

Why Here and Now is great:

  • This is a very easy perk to utilize and gives you an instant level up.
  • You can use it in two ways. The first is to level up twice back to back.
  • The best way to use Here and Now is to save it and use it when you hit the really high levels where you have to grind a lot.

3. Piercing Strike

(When I said give me a hand, this wasn't what I meant)

Coming in at number 3 we have Piercing Strike! For these next three entries, we are going to be getting a little playthrough specific. Piercing Strike is an amazing perk for any unarmed/melee character. It allows you to kill things with your bare hands much easier.

Why Piercing Strike is great:

  • The stats of this perk are the best part about them. With this perk, all of your unarmed/melee attacks ignore 15 points of DT.
  • Piercing Strike allows an unarmed build viable for even high-level playthroughs.
  • If you are specifically playing a melee-based character it makes you a nigh-unstoppable force in the Mojave.

2. Grim Reaper's Sprint

(Another day at the 9 to 5)

Coming in at number 2 we have Grim Reaper's Sprint! Grim Reaper's Sprint is a high-level perk only available at level 20. The Grim Reapers Sprint will allow you to become a force to be reckoned with in battle. Like most end game perks this one is very powerful and can really change the way you play your game.

Why Grim Reaper's Sprint is great:

  • Grim Reaper's Sprint allows you to gain 20 AP after every kill in Vats.
  • When killing in Vats as long as you have a target to kill you will continue to have Vats available.
  • Grim Reaper's Sprint will enable you to kill entire squads before they know what hit them.

1. Cannibal

(Come over, he'd love to have you for dinner)

Coming in at number 1 we have Cannibal! This one may seem a bit weird for number 1 but Cannibal is by far my favorite for so many reasons. It allows you to consume your enemies with a karma cost. This perk can change your Mojave playthrough in quite a few different ways.

Why Cannibal is great:

  • Cannibal gives you the ability to heal yourself out in the field when supplies are exhausted. As long as you have enemies, you have health.
  • The perk also gives you access to content that you wouldn't be a part of without it. Including quests and dialogue.
  • Cannibal also leads to the Ghastly Scavenger which allows you to eat ghouls and super mutants.

I created an account just to say these perks are ass. Here and now is completely useless and swift learn is is also a waste of a perk. Everyone starting please avoid these perks. There are way to many ways to level up to waste something on these useless perks. And to the buddy who wrote this go replay the game ffs
