What Are The Best FFXV Mods?
One of the best ways to keep games alive and dynamic long after initial release is to allow for mods.
Modding, overall, is one of the ultimate compliments fans can give a game, saying that they want to make the game even better and that they aren’t ready for the story to end.
Some mods, usually among the first to be released, fix bugs, others add content, and a load can give games a ridiculous and silly twist (I mean, Sailor Moon in L4D2? Top Notch!). While mod support for console is much more rare, PC gamers get to experience a load of mods and FFXV has some of the best, most fun mods I’ve ever seen.
The following list of mods deserve a special shoutout, in my opinion, for their ability to either enrich the gameplay, help you dive more into the characters and learn more about them and the world, r or, at the very least, make things a bit more fun!
So, without further ado, here are 10 mods that I think are worth giving a try to enhance your FFXV experience! (Reminder, this is for the PC VERSION ONLY)
Disclaimer: None of these mods are perfect, and they’re all made by human beings, just like you and me. That means they are not necessarily professionals, they’re just big fans of the game. Please keep in mind there will most likely be bugs and/or glitches, but that the modders themselves are still actively keeping these mods up to date and making them better. Please be kind!

10. Outfit Retextures
Purpose: Improves the textures
This mod is very simply for aesthetic purposes to to make things prettier and more immersive to look at.For a more in depth delving into the game, it’s nice to have realistic, or at least semi-realistic textures to a game that already comes pretty close!

- Enhances the look of the game
- Makes things more seamless
9. Red Royal Arms
Purpose: Applies a red hue to the 13 Royal Arms.
I don’t know about you, but I thought the royal arms should have looked…….different. Not quite so regular, not something you could have picked up from any regular dungeon. I love the otherworldly quality this brings to the weapons!
Selling Points
- Aesthetics enhanced
- More believable for a Royal/Magical weapon
8. Radio Tuner
Purpose: Plays outside music in the game.
Do you ever wish you could listen to your own songs while driving through Lucis? Wish no more!
Sometimes it’s fun to listen to your own songs instead of the songs preset into the game. I love the previous Final Fantasy game albums as much as the next but sometimes I just need a familiar voice to belt out a badass song while I take down a behemoth... or drive past daemons when I should be at a rest stop!

- Can make your own playlists!
- Listen to your own music instead of previous games soundtracks!
- Curate your tastes along with Noctis and the Chocobros.
- Set the mood!
