In the really cute photo above the text, we can see Hu Tao, the character from Genshin Impact we’re going to talk about, her helper and paternal figure Zhongli, and one of her future clients, the zombie Qiqi. And we aren’t going to talk only about her, but about the teammates that will make her shine the most, Zhongli being one of them. If you are making a team for Hu Tao, this guide is for you.

10.  Hu Tao + Xingqiu + Zhongli + Mona

The first of the 10 teams does indeed contain Zhongli. In this team, the elemental resonance we make use of is the Hydro resonance, which increases the healing received. We also have a variety of roles: shielding, healing, crowd controlling, enabling, and, of course, damage dealing.

Obviously, you should use the Geo archon’s shield first. Use Mona’s elemental skill so they all run to it, and then activate both Zhongli’s and her burst. This way all enemies will receive additional damage and be immobilized. After using Xingqius burst, Hu Tao can spam attacks causing vaporize reactions to stack damage before Mona’s burst explodes (and everyone dies).

Roles:

  • Hu Tao: DPS
  • Zhongli: Shielder
  • Xingqiu: Enabler and Healer
  • Mona: Enabler and CC

Why This Team Is Great for Hu Tao:

  • Good CC and increased damage with Mona
  • Best shield in-game
  • Zhongli can CC with petrification
  • Hydro resonance increases Xingqiu’s healing
  • Constant vaporize elemental reaction

9.  Hu Tao + Sucrose + Yunjin + Yelan

Xingqiu and Yelan are really similar, both in appearance and in combat abilities. They both can launch Hydro attacks even off-field, buffing Hu Tao with the Vaporize reaction. However, Yelan is more DPS and damage-centred, rather than energy recharge and elemental mastery-centred.

Well, she’s just as useful as Xingqiu, so there’s no complaining. At the same time, Yunjin can increase her Hydro attacks, as well as Hu Tao’s. Moreover, the damage done will be even greater thanks to Sucrose’s ability to increase Elemental Mastery and decrease resistance.

Roles:

  • Hu Tao: DPS
  • Sucrose: CC and Enabler
  • Yunjin: Shielder and Enabler
  • Yelan: DPS and ENabler

Why This Team Is Great for Hu Tao:

  • Good CC thanks to Sucrose
  • Sucrose’s passive abilities increase damage
  • Can always shield with Yunjin
  • Normal attack damage buffed
  • Constant vaporize elemental reaction
  • High off-field damage

8.  Hu Tao + Kazuha + Yelan + Zhongli

This is a similar team, but with better character. Well, every character can be amazing so let’s just call them 5-star characters. Yelan will do the same job as before, creating vaporize reactions and dealing off-field damage. Zhongli will also shield your team and petrify enemies when in need. Finally, Kazuha, with his CC and off-field damage, could even sweep the field by himself

Roles:

  • Hu Tao: DPS
  • Kazuha: CC and Enabler
  • Yelan: DPS and Enabler
  • Zhongli: SHielder

Why This Team Is Great for Hu Tao:

  • Good CC thanks to Kazuha
  • Kazuha decreases enemies’ elemental resistance
  • Unbreakable shield by Zhongli
  • Secondary CC with petrification
  • Constant vaporize elemental reaction
  • High off-field damage

7.  Hu Tao + Fischl + Beidou + Xingqiu

In this team, we introduce two new characters: Beidou and Fischl. Both of them are Electro characters that can deal damage as well as act as a support, shielding, and enabling, respectively. Moreover, these two together can activate the Electro resonance for the team.

Fischl’s skill comes first, summoning Oz to attack enemies inflicting Electro damage. Xingqiu’s burst will deal Hydro damage and activate various elemental reactions, while Beidou’s burst will make Hu Tao’s normal attacks deal more damage and extra Electro damage. Not only that, if you see a big hit coming, you can use her shield to counter your enemy's hit.

Roles:

  • Hu Tao: DPS
  • Fischl: Enabler
  • Beidou: Shielder, Enabler and sub-DPS
  • Xingqiu: Enabler and Healer

Why This Team Is Great for Hu Tao:

  • Passive Electro damage with Fischl’s skill
  • Powerful counter-shield
  • Healing with Xingqiu
  • Electro resonance increases energy recharge
  • Various elemental reactions: over-charged, electro-charged, and vaporize

6.  Hu Tao + Xiangling + Rosaria + Diona

All these teams’ purposes will be to increase Hu Tao’s damage and time on the field. In this case, Xiangling is a Pyro character, activating the Pyro resonance; while Rosaria and Diona activate the Cryo resonance. More ATK and more Crit. probability, what more do you want?

Once in battle, you should start with Xiangling’s burst, inflicting Pyro damage. Then, you should use either Rosaria’s or Diona’s burst to affect enemies with Cryo in an area. It’s recommended to use Diona’s when you need healing. Afterward, just use Hu Tao’s skill and cause melting reactions which double your damage to kill enemies.

Roles:

  • Hu Tao: DPS
  • Xiangling: Enabler
  • Rosaria: Enabler
  • Diona: Enabler and Healer

Why This Team Is Great for Hu Tao:

  • Possible healing and shielding from Diona
  • Constant melt elemental reaction (x2 damage)
  • Two elemental resonances

5.  Hu Tao + Kazuha + Xiangling + Xingqiu

You can probably already see a pattern in these best teams for Hu Tao. All of them are based on elemental mastery and elemental reactions, increasing her damage through these reactions and resonances. This is the case with Kazuha’s team as well.

Xiangling’s burst will cause enemies to be affected by Pyro, which Kazuha’s burst can use to create a Pyro swirl and decrease its resistance. After that, Xingqiu’s Hydro burst will help Hu Tao create vaporize reactions with her skill, destroying all enemies in her way.

Roles:

  • Hu Tao: DPS
  • Kazuha: Enabler
  • Xingqiu: Enabler and Healer
  • Xiangling: Enabler

Why This Team Is Great for Hu Tao:

  • Constant vaporize reaction
  • Pyro resistance reduction with Kazuha’s swirl reaction
  • More attack thanks to Pyro resonance
  • Possible healing with Xingqiu

4.  Hu Tao + Yelan + Zhongli + Mona

A good team that makes use of the updated Hydro resonance between Yelan and Mona. Both Yelan’s damage and Zhongli’s shielding (and burst damage) scale off their HP. This resonance is perfect for both of them, amplifying their HP by 25% of their total.

The strategy is similar to the previous ones, although with much more damage. Mona will CC and prepare the buff for the team, while Zhongli can shield Hu Tao. SHe, together with Yelan’s Hydro lances burst will crush enemies with normal attacks infused with Pyro.

Roles:

  • Hu Tao: DPS
  • Yelan: DPS and Enabler
  • Zhongli: SHielder
  • Mona: Enabler

Why This Team Is Great for Hu Tao:

  • Hydro resonance
  • High off-field damage
  • Ultra-buff thanks to Mona
  • Can petrify enemies if needed
  • Constant vaporize reaction
  • Unbreakable shield from Zhongli

3.  Hu Tao + Raiden + Sara + Xiangling

In the top three we find the improved version of the 7th team. This team has two DPS, Hu Tao and Raiden Shogun, with a battery and enabler of their element for each of them, Sara and Xiangling.

Xiangling’s skill and passives can increase Pyro damage while recovering Pyro energy, which is amazing for Hu Tao. Sara can also increase Raiden’s attack with her skill, readying her nuker burst. Now, you can choose the first DPS to have their burst, or maybe use both for an Overloaded reaction,

Roles:

  • Hu Tao: DPS
  • Raiden Shogun: DPS
  • Sara: Enabler and Battery
  • Xiangling: Enabler and Battery

Why This Team Is Great for Hu Tao:

  • Double battery implies quick burst charging
  • High off-field damage
  • Double elemental resonance: Pyro and Electro
  • Constant Overloaded reaction
  • Various buffs thanks to the two enablers
  • Nuker burst from both DPSs

2.  Hu Tao + Ganyu + Ayaka + Zhongli

This is also an improved version of the last melt-centred team, now with many more 5-star characters. Instead of Rosaria and Diona, we have Ganyu and Ayaka, two of the best DPS in the game, as well as the best shielder a.k.a. the Geo Archon.

Hu Tao should be the main DPS because she’s the only one who can activate the melt reaction. Ganyu and Ayaka are able to deal tons of damage as well, but their priority is applying Cryo to enemies, such as with Ganyu’s AoE burst or with Ayaka’s infused normal attacks. And Zhongli, well, the same amazingness as always.

Roles:

  • Hu Tao: DPS
  • Ganyu: DPS and Enabler
  • Ayaka: DPS and Enabler
  • Zhongli: Shielder

Why This Team Is Great for Hu Tao:

  • Zhongli's shield is invincible
  • Constant melt damage
  • Cryo resonance
  • Huge burst AoE
  • Three of the best DPS in the game

1.  Hu Tao + Albedo + Zhongli + Xingqiu

In the first place, we find what is the best team for Hu Tao at the moment. Not only is this a good team for her, but it’s one of the best teams in the whole game. It’s great for bosses, exploring, and even the Spiral Abyss.

The Geo resonance increases her damage right off the bat. Albedo and Zhongli also do more than that. Albedo’s passive damage within an area, and Zhongli’s shield and nuker meteorite are both valid reasons to have them in the team.

As always, Xingqiu is the best 4-star support for Hu Tao, not only can he help her cause vaporize reactions, but he heals her occasionally as well. With these supports, Hu Tao’s Pyro-infused normal attacks can massacre her enemies without a doubt.

Roles:

  • Hu Tao: DPS
  • Albedo: Shielder and Enabler
  • Zhongli: Shielder
  • Xingqiu: Enabler and Healer

Why This Team Is Great for Hu Tao:

  • Geo resonance increases damage while shielded
  • Best shielder in-game
  • High Geo passive damage
  • Healing from Xingqiu
  • Constant shielding with shards
  • Can cause vaporize reaction

These 10 teams may have some similarities and some differences, making it difficult to guess and choose the best for you. Don’t worry, though, because each one of them is fantastic in their own way, even if their position is not the highest. I mean, there are more than 50 characters in the game, to be the top 10 in hundreds of combinations is a good reason enough to try and build a team with those four characters.
