The combat system in Genshin Impact is fun and versatile. All characters have a set of normal attacks, an elemental skill and an Elemental Burst (AKA “ultimate”), these last ones are the strongest abilities of each character. In this section we’ll go over the Top 15 Best Ultimates That Are OP.

15. Stormbreaker

(Beidou's counter can deal massive damage)

Beidou’s ultimate has excellent crowd control potential thanks to the electro dragon that is created when casted, this becomes better when you pair her with other elements to create reactions. Her ultimate is famous because of how useful it is for the Abyss.

What makes Stormbreaker great

• It deals electro damage that bounces between enemies.
• With a Hydro applier, such as Xingqiu or Tartaglia, the crowd control gets better thanks to the electro-charged reaction.

Stormbreaker details

• When Normal and Charged Attacks hit, they create a lightning discharge that can jump between opponents, dealing Electro DMG.
• Increases the character's resistance to interruption, and decreases DMG taken.
• A maximum of 1 lightning discharge can be triggered per second.

14. Kamisato Art: Soumetsu

(Ayaka's ultimate does extremely well against frozen enemies)

Ayaka’s ultimate is this powerful snowstorm of freezing Cryo damage that can be devastating, hitting up to 20 times. It moves forward in the direction that it’s casted, it knocks back small enemies and stays in place against bigger enemies until it explodes or defeats them.

Why Kamisato Art: Soumetsu is great

• The damage this skill can do even with a free-to-play weapon and with no constellations it’s immense.
• Freezing enemies won’t be hard with an Hydro support, and frozen enemies will take all the damage, making things so easy, it’ll make you laugh.

Kamisato Art: Soumetsu details

• A storm of whirling icy winds that slashes repeatedly at every enemy it touches, dealing Cryo DMG.
• The snowstorm explodes after its duration ends, dealing AoE Cryo DMG.

13. Ryuukin Saxifrage

(Yoimiya's ultimate works great against multiple mobs)

Yoimiya’s ultimate is a good ability when it comes to damaging multiple enemies at once. It’s really useful in places such as the Spiral Abyss, where you’ll find lots of mobs.

Why Ryuukin Saxifrage is great

• Thanks to this ability you get to apply a Pyro mark to enemies that will explode when you attack them.
• Because Pyro is the strongest element in the game so far, it’s amazing to create a chain of reactions to end enemies quickly.

Ryuukin Saxifrage details

• All Normal/Charged/Plunging Attacks, Elemental Skills, and Elemental Bursts by any party member other than Yoimiya that hit an opponent marked by Aurous Blaze will trigger an explosion, dealing AoE Pyro DMG.
• When an opponent affected by Aurous Blaze is defeated before its duration expires, the effect will pass on to another nearby opponent, who will inherit the remaining duration.
• One Aurous Blaze explosion can be triggered every 2s. When Yoimiya is down, Aurous Blaze effects created through her skills will be deactivated.

12. Spirit Soother

(Use Hu Tao's ulti to clear everything in seconds)

Hu Tao’s ultimate is good to just delete everything with one single strike, things become more simple due to the fact she has a Pyro vision, so those Vaporize or Melt reactions will hurt.

Why Spirit Soother is great

• This ability is simple and straightforward, one single strike that can hit as many enemies as there are in front of you.
• Because Hu Tao’s Elemental Skill costs her HP, if you hit from one up to five enemies with the ultimate, you regenerate HP based on the amount of enemies hit.

Spirit Soother details

• Commands a blazing spirit to attack, dealing Pyro DMG in a large AoE.
• Upon striking the enemy, regenerates a percentage of Hu Tao's Max HP. This effect can be triggered up to 5 times, based on the number of enemies hit.
• If Hu Tao's HP is below or equal to 50% when the enemy is hit, both the DMG and HP Regeneration are increased.

11. Kazuha Slash

(An excellent ability to do elemental reactions)

Yes, you guessed right. Kazuha’s ultimate creates this useful zone that deals Anemo damage, as any other Anemo ability, it can create a swirl reaction when in contact with another element that’s not Geo, hitting enemies with Anemo and the Swirled element.

Why Kazuha Slash is great

• So far, Kazuha is the only Anemo character that has a priority over the elements that will be swirled.
• With some strategy you can use this to your advantage to do elemental reactions with your main DPS.

Kazuha Slash details

• A single slash that strikes with the force of the first winds of autumn, dealing AoE Anemo DMG.
• The blade's passage will leave behind a field named "Autumn Whirlwind" that periodically deals AoE Anemo DMG to opponents within its range.
• If Autumn Whirlwind comes into contact with Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro, it will deal additional elemental DMG of that type. Elemental Absorption may only occur once per use.

10. Dandelion Breeze

(Healing, cleansing and damage, it has it all)

Jean’s ultimate creates a quite versatile field that will heal all party members, damages enemies inside of it and cleanses character’s from any element that can be affected by an element.

Why Dandelion Breeze is great

• This ability has high value in any situation because the healing scales off Jean’s ATK.
• It also does some nice damage, plus the fact it can cleanse you from any other element goes well to avoid enemies doing some reactions on you that could hurt a lot.

Dandelion Breeze details

• Jean creates a swirling Dandelion Field, launching surrounding opponents and dealing Anemo DMG.
• At the same time, she instantly regenerates a large amount of HP for all party members. The amount of HP restored scales off Jean's ATK.

9. Stellaris Phantasm

(Pop the bubble to hit your enemies hard)

Mona’s ultimate is often used in DPS showcase videos and clips. It’s interesting the way it works, since it creates a bubble that will mark enemies, after a certain time, the mark will explode doing big damage.

Why Stellaris Phantasm is great

• For starters, the damage multipliers of this skill is huge.
• Being a Hydro ability allows for Pyro DPS characters to cause a Vaporize reaction, one of the strongest in the game so far.

Stellaris Phantasm Details

• Mona summons the sparkling waves and creates a reflection of the starry sky, applying the Illusory Bubble status to opponents in a large AoE.
• When an opponent affected by Illusory Bubble sustains DMG, the following effects are produced:
• Applies Omen to the opponent, which gives a DMG Bonus, also increasing the DMG of the attack that causes it.
• Removes the Illusory Bubble, dealing Hydro Elemental DMG in the process. The DMG Bonus does not apply to the Hydro Elemental DMG dealt in this instance.

8. Secret Art: Musou Shinsetsu

(A first single slash of electro damage)

Raiden Shogun, also known as Raiden Ei, has an ultimate ability that’s unique for the effects that will help your entire party. When activating her ultimate, for seven seconds, her basic attacks will be performed with her tachi “Musou Isshin”.

Why Secret Art: Musou Shinsetsu is great

• The first slash of this ability deals a lot of damage, afterwards you can use her normal attacks, which will now be with her tachi.
• When casting the ability your party members will regenerate Energy Recharge

Secret Art: Musou Shinsetsu details

• The Raiden Shogun unleashes the Musou no Hitotachi and deals AoE Electro DMG, using Musou Isshin in combat for a certain duration.
• She will regenerate Energy for all nearby party members. Energy can be restored this way once every 1s, and this effect can be triggered 5 times throughout this skill's duration.
• While in this state, the Raiden Shogun's resistance to interruption is increased, and she is immune to Electro-Charged reaction DMG.

7. Glacial Illumination

(The warhead of physical damage)

Eula’s ultimate ability  is a nuclear warhead of physical damage. This type of damage is the good old way of finishing enemies, everybody takes physical damage to a certain extent. This ultimate is so powerful, you can delete anything in seconds

Why is Glacial Illumination great

• Again, physical damage is always great, and the damage this skill can reach is absurd.
• It gives you resistance to interruption, which is great to not lose your basic attacks combos.

Glacial Illumination details

• Brandishes her greatsword, dealing Cryo DMG to nearby opponents and creating a Lightfall Sword that follows her around for a duration of up to 7s.
• When Eula's own Normal Attack, Elemental Skill, and Elemental Burst deal DMG to opponents, they will charge the Lightfall Sword, which can gain an energy stack once every 0.1s.
• Once its duration ends, the Lightfall Sword will descend and explode violently, dealing Physical DMG to nearby opponents.

6. Bane of All Evil

(Xiao's max power released)

Xiao’s ultimate skill it’s simple yet fun and broken. Because he’s an Anemo character he can do quite some damage through Swirl elemental reaction, plus this skill has great crowd control for a place like the abyss.

Why Bane of All Evil is great

• It allows Xiao to jump higher than any other character to perform powerful plunge attacks.
• Because you can use his elemental skill in the air, it’s great for defeating flying enemies.

Bane of All Evil details

• Greatly increases Xiao's jumping ability.
• Increases his attack AoE and attack DMG.
• Converts attack DMG into Anemo DMG, which cannot be overridden by any other elemental infusion.
• In this state, Xiao will continuously lose HP. The effects of this skill end when Xiao leaves the field.

5. Guhua Sword: Raincutter

(One of the top tiers 4-stars in the current meta)

Many people underestimated him in the past, but Xingqiu’s ultimate is actually pretty broken and it’s amazing for a 4 star character. Everyone wants the 5 star characters, but the 4 stars can be just as good too.

Why Guhua Sword: Raincutter is amazing

• This skill applies constant Hydro element to enemies by attacking them with rainbow swords (Although they look more like needles).
• The damage is constant and the skill duration is long.
• Because he applies Hydro so fast, he’s great with Pyro characters to Vaporize enemies.

Guhua Sword: Raincutter details

• Initiate Rainbow Bladework and fight using an illusory sword rain, while creating the maximum number of Rain Swords.
• Your active character's Normal Attacks will trigger consecutive sword rain attacks, dealing Hydro DMG.
• Rain Swords will remain at the maximum number throughout the ability's duration.

4. Pyronado

(The protagonist of many Spiral Abyss speed runs)

The ultimate ability of Liyue’s chef, Xianling, is simply the reason why the Genshin Impact community calls her the “True Pyro Archon”. Her elemental skill has an energy level cost, but man, it hits hard and vaporizes or melts even harder.

Why Pyronado is great

• Damage scaling throughout talent levels is big.
• Great company for a Hydro DPS since it allows you to do more damage through elemental reactions.
• Has a very wide area of damage.

Pyronado details

• Displaying her mastery over both fire and polearms, Xiangling sends a Pyronado whirling around her. 
• The Pyronado will move with your character for the ability's duration, dealing Pyro DMG to all opponents in its path.

3. Fantastic Voyage

(One of the most popular ultimates abilities)

In the spot number 3 we can find one of the most useful and valuable ultimate skill in all Genshin Impact, that is nothing more and nothing less than Bennett’s elemental burst. Bennet is a character that goes well in literally any party due to all the things his ultimate has to offer.

Why Fantastic Voyage is great

• It can heal your party fast, faster than some other healer character such as Diona.
• It also boosts your current character that’s inside his ultimate with an ATK bonus that is proportional to Bennett’s basic attack.

Fantastic Voyage details

• If the health of a character within the AoE is equal to or falls below 70%, their health will continuously regenerate. The amount of HP restored scales off Bennett's Max HP.
• If the health of a character within the AoE is higher than 70%, they gain an ATK Bonus that is based on Bennett's Base ATK.
• Imbues characters within the AoE with Pyro.

2. Wind's Grand Ode

(Venti's ulti is desired by many)

Throughout the story of Genshin Impact, if you’ve read enough, you know that the Anemo archon, Venti, is way more powerful than he looks, and we get to understand how powerful and amazing he is thanks to his ultimate.

Why Wind's Grand Ode is amazing.

• This skill is undeniably great because it will create a wind vortex that will pull enemies in.
• With all mobs clumped in one place, it's pretty easy to finish them all quickly.
• Venti can unlock you the easy mode for the majority of floors in the Abyss.

Wind's Grand Ode details

• Fires off an arrow made of countless coalesced winds, creating a huge Stormeye that sucks in opponents and deals continuous Anemo DMG.
• If the Stormeye comes into contact with Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro, it will deal additional elemental DMG of that type.
• Elemental Absorption may only occur once per use.

1. Planet Befall

(So far, this is the only ulti that can petrify enemies)

Planet Befall is Zhongli’s elemental burst, anyone who has seen what this skill does knows how broken it is. Let alone the fact that Zhongli is an amazing support with the strongest shield in the game.

Why Planet Befall is amazing

• Zhongli commands a meteorite to fall in the field that will do a nice damage.
• Plus and, this is where things get broken, the meteorite petrifies enemies for a short period of time.

Planet Befall details

• Brings a falling meteor down to earth, dealing massive Geo DMG to opponents caught in its AoE and applying the Petrification status to them.
• Opponents affected by the Petrification status cannot move.
