[Top 5] Genshin Impact Best Noelle Builds That Are Powerful

Noelle (and Amber is there I guess)
Updated:

Who is Noelle?

Noelle is training to become a Knight of Favonius in Mondstadt, albeit a somewhat unsuccessful attempt, having taken the exam and failing said exam 8 times. As she studies, she has become a maid for the Knights, and has since then has become a workhorse for not just the Knights, but for the entirety of Mondstadt. A character featured within the newcomer banner, she is a character that almost all players will get from the start, and has a small, albeit strong fan following (I myself started my Genshin career as a Noelle main). Let’s take a look at her shall we.

This, is Noelle *Ding*

Key strengths of Noelle

  • Jack-of-all trade: With her kit, as well as with the options of her artifacts and weapons, she can fill quite a lot of roles, whether that be DPS, Sub DPS, or a Support.
  • Well equipped for support: Her elemental skill shields, heals, and buffs both DEF and damage, all team members, and while it might not be as strong as a dedicated healer or shielder like Kokomi and Zhongli respectively, she is a strong option for support, and opens up other team slots for more dedicated DPS characters.
  • Crowd control: Both her charged attack and her elemental burst has a wide AoE, helping to deal damage to large swaths of enemies.
  • Helps teammates both on-field and off: Her elemental skill provides healing, not just for the active character, but for all characters on her team. Conversely, if the active character drops below 30%, she grants an emergency shield, even if she herself is not on-field.
  • Comparatively easy to build: While a main DPS build is hard to achieve without getting her to C6, for the most part, most of her personal builds can be easy to create, as many of her ideal builds can be easily created, even by those who are Free-to-play or beginners.
  • Accessible: As she is gotten early on, players can more easily start building her, long before having to compete with other characters for resources, and because of the aforementioned Jack-of-all trade trait, means that Noelle could be a valuable powerhouse for early game players, that could still maintain utility as players make progress.
  • Claymore: As a claymore wielder, she is able to access some of the many aspects of claymore wielders. These include dealing high damage at the cost of speed, increased damage to geo and certain shield types, and being able to trigger shatter on frozen enemies, even without using elemental skills.

1.Noelle Pure Geo Team

Image

The triggering of Gorou's burst

What this team does:

This team focuses on Noelle being either a DPS, or a Sub DPS (though her build will remain the same), with the rest of the team being other geo characters. These other geo characters not only create resonance with shielding, but also helps boost both shielding and damage.

  • Noelle takes the role of either a DPS or a Sub DPS if paired with Itto (this will be explained)
  • Gorou takes the role of support, boosting both geo DMG and DEF
  • Zhongli takes the mantle of support in the form of more shielding
  • Albedo acts as a Sub DPS with his elemental burst, as well as generating energy for Noelle
  • IF Itto is added, he and Noelle basically acts as joint main DPS/Sub DPS
  • Some versions may include Fischl, who can help generate energy for Noelle as a support
  • Gorou’s skills and burst provides DEF and Geo DMG bonus to Itto and/or Noelle (especially when he is C6)
  • Albedo’s burst DMG is maximized (especially at C2) by Gorou’s Geo DMG and DEF buffs
  • Itto uses his Elemental burst, at which point Noelle jumps in to help hammer enemies further

Advantages of this build:

This team is well suited for boss fights. With high defense and high DMG, this team can outlast most bosses you will face, such as the Primo Geovishap.

  • Energy generation: One of the big drawbacks for Noelle is the fact that her burst requires a lot of energy. This team however is designed in a way so that Noelle is essentially connected to a battery, provided by either sub DPS or support characters
  • Your team is essentially an 800 pound gorilla: You have a team of pure geo, where the resonance increases shield strength, increased geo DMG, and decreased geo RES for enemies. Did I mention that you have anywhere between either one or two shielders. Good luck scratching Noelle’s armor’s paint job, let alone Noelle herself.
  • Hits like a truck: With near constant buffing, and both DPS and Sub DPS bursts being buffed, giving buffs, and dealing wide and gross amounts of damage, as well as elemental resonance, you might not get scratched, but you’ll definitely leave craters where enemies once stood.
  • Surprisingly flexible and accessible: Shockingly, the only must haves are Noelle and Gorou, with the rest being more “strongly recommended”. This means that realistically, if you don’t have Albedo, Zhongli or Itto, other Geo characters like Yun Jin or Ningguang or even Fischl can be subbed in. (that being said, for best results, use Albedo, Zhongli, and/or Itto)
  • Strong synergy: With Gorou’s buffs plus further DMG and buffs given by other characters such as Zhongli, Albedo, or even Noelle herself, this means that Noelle becomes a powerhouse once she starts swinging

2. Noelle–Xiao Core team

Image
image
The triggering of Jean's burst

What this team does:

This team places Noelle as Sub DPS, with the main DPS role fulfilled by Xiao. That said, Noelle is firmly a Sub DPS, as the support role is taken by a dedicated healer and a dedicated shielder, usually Jean and Zhongli respectively.

  • Xiao takes the role of main DPS, as his elemental burst enables him to do consecutive plunge attacks, which deals massive anemo DMG, even without another element to swirl.
  • Noelle takes the role of a Sub DPS, dealing constant DMG while Xiao is off field, helping to either destroy weaker foes, or chip away at more powerful ones.
  • Jean takes the role of healer support, doubling both as a healer and as a battery for both Noelle and Xiao.
  • Zhongli takes the role of a shielder support, providing safety through shielding his fellow teammates.
  • Zhongli provides shielding, and as Jean does healing with her basic attack, she also helps provide energy for both Xiao and Noelle to do their bursts.
  • Xiao does his burst and deals large DMG through his plunge attacks, before switching to Noelle to do weaker, but more broad attacks through her burst, or vice versa.

Advantages of this build:

This team is also well suited for boss fights such as the Legatus Golem and Abyss runs as well as the Imaginarium Theater.

  • Safety first: Due to Xiao’s elemental burst slowly leeching his own health, between Zhongli’s shielding, Jean’s healing through both her normal attack and burst, and Noelle’s everything, this means almost everyone will get constant shielding and healing, so unless the enemy gets access to an ICBM, then your party should be fine.
  • Double the resonance: Because this build consists of two anemo characters and two geo characters, this results in the team having two elemental resonance; one that provides extra shielding, geo DMG and reduce enemy RES and one that provides decreased stamina consumption, increased movement speed, and shorter cool downs. A very good combination indeed, as your team now resembles the average Leopard tank.
  • Straight forward: This team is shockingly simple to employ. Just rotate through the characters, popping off their bursts and skills, before finally charging up Xiao’s burst, and then go to town. There’s a simplicity in it found ordinarily within AKs or hammers.
  • Surprisingly accessible: While Xiao and Zhongli might be harder to obtain due to them often being found within limited banners, Jean and Noelle are much easier to obtain. This could mean that this team can be made anytime once a Xiao and a Zhongli is acquired.

The specifics of this build:

  • Noelle (4 star claymore)
    • Role: Sub DPS
    • Talent priority: Normal Attack>Elemental Burst>Elemental Skill
    • Weapons: Redhorn Stonethresher>Serpent Spine>Whiteblind

3. Noelle Geo Pyro team

Image
image
The triggering of Xiangling's Burst (admittedly, can be hard to see, but to be fair, that's what happens if you trigger it on flammable materials)

What this team does:

This team is akin to the previous teams, but instead of anemo, you go with pyro instead. This team focuses on Itto and Noelle both being DPS/Sub DPS to each other, with the fun twist of a third Sub DPS of Xiangling and good (but unlucky) Bennett taking the mantle of a healer support. Itto and Noelle deal the damage on-field, while Xiangling deals it off-field.

  • Itto takes the mantle of main DPS
  • Noelle takes the role of Sub DPS, while also providing shielding
  • Itto and Noelle will function much like the pure geo team, with the two constantly switching in for each other to deal DMG
  • Xiangling takes the role of Sub DPS as well, as both her elemental skill and burst deals pyro DMG even if she is off-field
  • Bennett becomes a healer support, providing both DMG buffs and healing

Advantages of this build:

This team is well suited for Abyss runs or boss fights, as the constant DMG both on-field and off-field would be found quite useful.

  • Pain is constant (for enemies): Itto and Noelle provide on-field DMG, while Xiangling provides DMG off-field with her burst and skill. Bennet meanwhile can provide buffs to all of the above, so no matter what, DMG will be dealt.
  • Resonance has synergy: Two pyro characters result in the party dealing 25% more DMG. Two geo characters provide boosted shielding, extra DMG, and reducing enemy RES for a short time. Don’t know about you, but one that reduces RES, and one that makes each swing hurt a little more sounds like a good deal to me.
  • Secure for your party: With Noelle’s shielding and healing, and Bennetts buffs and healing, your party can last a fair amount of time in fights.
  • Accessible for many: While Itto can only be gotten from timed banners, the other 4 are characters that can be very easily attained. This means that this team is very accessible for many players, notably free-to-play and some beginners (depending on luck and timing admittedly, but still).

The specifics of this build:

  • Noelle (4 star claymore)
    • Role: DPS/Sub DPS (but the builds are the same)
    • Talent priority: Normal Attack>Elemental Burst>Elemental Skill
    • Weapons: Redhorn Stonethresher>Serpent Spine>Whiteblind
    • Artifacts: Husk of Opulent Dreams (4)
      • Sand: ATK%(DEF% for C6)
      • Goblet: Geo DMG
      • Circlet: CRIT RATE or CRIT DMG
      • Sub Stats: CRIT DMG/CRIT RATE, ATK%, Energy Recharge%
    • Ideal Constellation: C6
  • Itto (5 star claymore)
    • Role: DPS
    • Talent priority: Normal Attack>Elemental Burst>Elemental Skill
    • Weapons: Redhorn Stonethresher>Serpent Spine>Skyward Pride
    • Artifacts: Husk of Opulent Dreams (4)
      • Sand: DEF%

4. Noelle Electro Team

Image
image
The usage of Fischl's elemental skill (yes I know it is underpowered. I don't use her frequently enough, sue me)

What this team does:

This team is distinct, as Noelle takes the role of main DPS. This team is focused around two sub DPS in the form of Beidou and Fischl setting up electro DMG off-field for Noelle to take advantage of. Jean meanwhile plays healer, making sure that everyone actually lives long enough to do anything.

  • Noelle takes the main DPS role, where she takes advantage of Beidou’s burst and Fischl’s skill to deal electro DMG even as she does her normal attacks.
  • Beidou nabs the role of sub DPS, as her elemental burst enables her to provide electro DMG even if she is not on-field.
  • Fischl also takes the role of sub DPS as her elemental skill provides electro DMG even as she is off-field.
  • Finally, Jean takes the role of healer, as her basic attacks heals, her burst also heals, she can act as a battery, and she can also help lower enemy RES.

Advantages of this build:

This team is well suited for either world exploration, or for early game boss fights such as the Geo hypostasis.

  • Always dealing DMG: Between Beidou’s burst, Fischl’s skill, Jean having to hit something to heal, to Noelle also having to hit something to heal, someone or something is always getting thrown at enemies.
  • Always healing: Conversely, because Noelle heals by hitting things after using her skill, and Jean healing by just hitting things, ignoring the fact that her burst also heals by a lot, your party will always have some form of health long before ever needing to revive someone.
  • Accessible and beginner friendly: Aside from Jean, all of them are 4 stars, and all of them can be gained from the standard, permanent banner. This means that almost all players will have all the characters needed for this build.

The specifics of this build:

  • Noelle (4 star claymore)
    • Role: DPS
    • Talent priority: Normal Attack>Elemental Burst>Elemental Skill
    • Weapons: Redhorn Stonethresher>Serpent Spine>Whiteblind
    • Artifacts: Husk of Opulent Dreams (4)

      • Goblet: Geo DMG

  • Beidou (4 star claymore)
    • Role: Sub DPS
    • Talent priority: Elemental Burst>Elemental Skill> Normal Attack
    • Weapons: The Unforged>Skyward Pride>Serpent Spine

5. Noelle-Furina team

Image
image
The triggering of Yun Jin's burst (and apparently the glitching of the sky...)

What this team does:

Noelle and Furina have very good synergy, and so this team exploits that, with Noelle taking the role of Main DPS, and Furina taking the role of sub DPS. Gorou usually finds himself on this team as well taking the role of support. The last slot is the most flexible, with Yun Jin, Yelan, and Albedo all being good options.

  • Noelle takes the role of DPS
  • Furina in turn takes the role of sub DPS, dealing DMG, and buffing Noelle
  • Gorou often takes the role of support, buffing Noelle
  • The fourth slot is more open, with options including;
    • Albedo as burst support, generating energy for Noelle
    • Yun Jin as burst support, again generating energy for Noelle
    • Yelan as support, once again, being a human battery
  • The supports generate energy for Noelle, while Gorou also buffs
  • Furina buffs and helps deal DMG
  • Finally, Noelle uses her elemental burst, dealing DMG, as well as providing shielding as Furina’s skill can deal hydro DMG, which Noelle can use to gain shielding

Advantages of this build:

This build is great for boss fights such as Childe or the Pyro Hypostasis and abyss runs, as this team is thoroughly designed for longer fights against more singular foes.

  • Basically a battery: With the amount of options of support, as well as Furina, this team is the equivalent of attaching Noelle to a nuclear power plant, generating energy for her, fueling her bursts to deal broad and massive DMG.
  • Flexible: The only must haves are Noelle and Furina, with Gorou being highly recommended. This means that so long as the character can generate a lot of energy for the party, specific characters after Noelle, Furina, and maybe Gorou aren’t as specific. If you can somehow make a support built Hu Tao work, then you can add her to the line up. (not sure how you would make a Hu Tao support build, but the point still stands)
  • A team designed to kneecap bosses: With the buffs of Gorou and Furina, alongside any DMG dealt by Furina, Gorou, and whoever you decide to have as the third slot, as well as Noelle, ensures that most foes you face will question the life choice of facing this team.
