Even if an originally good warrior is able to get by with any weapon, pairing a warrior with a fitting weapon would make the best out of them.
There are 5 types of weapons in Genshin Impact: Bows, Catalysts, Claymores, Polearms, and Swords. Each character can only use one of them. Out of the current 29 characters, there are 5 Bow users, 6 for Catalyst, 6 for Claymore, 9 for Sword, and 3 Polearms.
I’m going to be completely honest: listing them into one general list is a pain. There are 5 types of weapons and a variety of unique users. If at least one of each makes it into the list, there goes half of the list already. Tell you what, I will put two each in this list.
So, a small note here! To make it a tiny bit easier, this list will not include the weapons that come as rewards from the Battle Pass’s Gnostic Hymn. This list will consist of weapons you get from the banners.
10. The StringlessImage
Let’s be honest. Not anyone can play Archers. I’ve got Fischl for, like, two months now and have only started using her the last few weeks because I simply can’t use a bow to save my life. But I will not let that cloud my judgement and turn their weapons away.
The Stringless raises the damage done by your Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst by 24%. This is arguably a big boost of DMG even if you might use your Bow user just for their Elemental Burst.
Keeping that very note in mind, I think this four-starred Bow deserves its place in this list.
Weapon Details:
- Type: Bow
- Stars: 4
- Obtainable through: Gacha
- Base ATK: 42
- Base Bonus Effect: Elemental Mastery 36
Why The Stringless Is Great:
- The numbers given by this bow are great if you’re not good at using Bows but want to use your character that use a Bow like me.
- A boost on your Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst means you can just use these skills and switch character afterwards.
- Even more if you’re using Amber whose Elemental Skill is Crowd Control.
9. Festering Desire
This limited edition sword is practically a free weapon you get as a reward from The Chalk Prince and the Dragon event. I feel like the ‘free’ part plays a lot in this weapon making it to the list, but I promise I’ve got a good reason regardless of that.
If you finished all of the quests from the Chalk Prince and the Dragon event, it is assumed that you’ve got this sword up until the 5th Refinement. It’s not easy to get that far with your usual four-starred weapons.
The Festering Desire increases the DMG done by your Elemental Skill by 16% and its CRIT Rate by 6%. If you’ve got this Sword to its 5th Refinement, that means the numbers are raised to 32% and 12% respectively. All this for finishing an event. Please always make sure to finish events from now on.
Also, it gives you a bonus of 10% for your Energy Recharge. I hope your Sword wielder is keen on playing Elemental.
Weapon Details:
- Type: Sword
- Stars: 4
- Obtainable through: The Chalk Prince and the Dragon event.
- Base ATK: 42
- Base Bonus Effect: Energy Recharge 10%
Why Festering Desire Is Great:
- It’s… practically free. And up to the 5th Refinement, too.
- A push on CRIT Rate is a really good boost even only by 6%.
- A great suit if you have a Sword user (even the Traveler) that is big on Elemental Skill.
- Limited edition, baby!
8. Lost Prayer to Sacred Wind
As the first Catalyst to be mentioned in this list, the Lost Prayer to Sacred Wind has a quite rare boost compared to the other weapons on the list.
This Catalyst boosts your speed movement by 10%. If you’re up against Ruin Guard, Ruin Hunter, Bosses, and so on, I’m pretty sure this is more than helpful. Or maybe even simple things like, well, wanting your Catalyst user to move faster.
During battle, it gives you a +8% Elemental DMG every 4 seconds, which can be stacked up to 4 times. However, this only affects your character and not the whole party. Thus, it demands your character to keep being on, which is why this shows up pretty low on the list.
Weapon Details:
- Type: Catalyst
- Stars: 5
- Obtainable through: Gacha
- Base ATK: 46
- Base Bonus Effect: CRIT Rate 7.2%
Why Lost Prayer to Sacred Wind Is Great:
- Its unique Movement SPD boost. And 10% at that.
- It increases both your CRIT Rate and your Elemental DMG.
- If you have a Catalyst as your main DPS and you enjoy using them continuously, then here you go!
7. Skyward Pride
Ah, the great Skyward family. The Skyward Pride is the first of its members to appear on the list. Yes, there would be more ofthem.
The Claymore boosts… all DMG by 8%, it doesn’t matter how you attack. On top of that, if your Claymore user attacks the opponents with a Normal, Charged Attack, or an Elemental Burst, Skyward Pride would send off an 80% ATK to them.
It lasts for 8 seconds.
Please use it if you’ve got a Claymore user.
Weapon Details:
- Type: Claymore
- Stars: 5
- Obtainable through: Gacha
- Base ATK: 48
- Base Bonus Effect: Energy Recharge 8%
Why Skyward Pride Is Great:
- The Energy Recharge boost makes quite the team with the Elemental Burst bonus DMG.
- It increases all of your DMG no matter how you attack.
- It goes fairly well with any of Claymore users, though better suited for them with a short Elemental Burst CD.
6. Primordial Jade Winged Spear
Genshin Impact weirdly has a lot of good Polearms remembering currently there are only 3 Polearm users. The Primordial Jade Winged Spear in particular suits well with your main DPS Polearm user.
This Polearm raises your ATK by 3.2% for 6 seconds on hit and the effect can be stacked up to 7 times. This very skill can go on effect once every 0.3s. That means if you stack it to its maximum, you practically get a 12% DMG boost.
Weapon Details:
- Type: Polearm
- Stars: 5
- Obtainable through: Gacha
- Base ATK: 48
- Base Bonus Effect: CRIT Rate 4.8%
Why Primordial Jade Winged Spear Is Great:
- As it raises your ATK and your CRIT Rate, the final damage would be a great number.
- The boost on CRIT Rate can go up to 20+% on its max. level.
5. Skyward Spine
Another weapon that bears a rare boost is the Skyward Spine.
This Polearm raises you CRIT Rate by 8% and then another boost of Normal ATK SPD by 12%. Furthermore, when you attack through Normal or Charged attack, it has a 50% chance of summoning a vacuum blade that would give a 40% DMG in a small AoE on hit. It can only be triggered once every 2 seconds, though!
Still, so much free bonus DMG from the Skyward family on hit.
Weapon Details:
- Type: Polearm
- Stars: 5
- Obtainable through: Gacha
- Base ATK: 48
- Base Bonus Effect: Energy Recharge 8%
Why Skyward Spine Is Great:
- You don’t see a boost on Normal ATK SPD a lot, so that’s a unique characteristic already.
- The extra 50% chance of ATK bonus on hit is not to be missed. It’s not that big of a gamble, too.
- (It looks really pretty.)
- Because the Bonus Effect is an Energy Recharge boost, the Polearm isn’t exclusively a main DPS material (though you definitely can use it as one, too).
4. Aquila Favonia
As the weapon with the most users, choosing a Sword to be on this list is considerably harder. The Aquila Favonia makes its way here for many reasons and I’m sure a lot (not all, I’m not that hopeful) of you would agree (for once).
This Sword raises your ATK by 20%. Big number.
Furthermore, it raises your Physical DMG by 9%. It doesn’t end here. When the user takes DMG, the Sword will heal the HP by 100% of the ATK, and then gives off 200% ATK to surrounding enemies. It only occurs once every 15s, yes, but it’s still a very big push.
Weapon Details:
- Type: Sword
- Stars: 5
- Obtainable through: Gacha
- Base ATK: 48
- Base Bonus Effect: Physical DMG +9%
Why Aquila Favonia Is Great:
- It increases not only your ATK but also heals.
- The Sword deals an AoE in return when the user takes DMG.
3. Skyward Atlas
The Skyward series making their ways into this list isn’t surprising. The Catalyst of this series is certainly one of the best Catalysts in the game. If your Catalyst user is a main DPS, then this is your weapon to go.
Skyward Atlas gives you a 12% Elemental DMG boost at Refinement 1. On top of that, when attacking with Normal Attack, it has a 50% chance of calling an orb that would automatically attack opponents nearby for 30s. While this skill can only be triggered every 30s, it gives off 160% ATK DMG.
Weapon Details:
- Type: Catalyst
- Stars: 5
- Obtainable through: Gacha
- Base ATK: 48
- Base Bonus Effect: ATK +7.2%
Why Skyward Atlas Is Great:
- With a boost for both ATK and Elemental DMG, your Catalyst would deal an insane amount of DMG.
- On the chance that the orb is called, you get an extra DMG without even doing anything.
2. Wolf’s Gravestone
This five-starred Claymore is arguably the best Claymore that currently exists in Genshin Impact.
The Wolf’s Gravestone Claymore is so incredible that you don’t have to think about which Claymore users would match with this weapon. If you’ve got a Claymore user and this Claymore then do yourself a favour andt equip it immediately.
As Claymore characters are usually and most likely used as a main DPS, it is not surprising that this one boosts ATK like there’s no tomorrow.
The Base ATK of this weapon (on Lv. 1) is 46. Upon use, the Wolf’s Gravestone also gives a +10.8% ATK bonus. On the 1st Refinement stage, this weapon increases ATK by 20%, and then boosts the whole party’s ATK by 40% on hit if the enemies have less than 30% HP. Talk about numbers.
Weapon Details:
- Type: Claymore
- Stars: 5
- Obtainable through: Gacha
- Base ATK: 46
- Base Bonus Effect: ATK +10.8%
Why Wolf’s Gravestone Is Great:
- It’s suitable with any Claymore users.
- Even without Refinement, this weapon increases the ATK massively.
- As this weapon already boosts the ATK by a lot, you can use artifacts that don’t boost ATK.
1. Skyward Harp
Isn’t it something that the list is opened and closed by Bows? I did not mean that to happen. But the Skyward Harp is truly a greatness of a weapon.
It raises your critical damage by 20%. And if that’s not good enough, the Skyward Harp gives you a 60% chance to bring in a small AoE attack with a Physical ATK damage of 125% on hit. Even if it can only take effect once every 4 seconds, calling this a good boost is offensive.
Giving all this boost on its 1st Refinement? The Skyward Harp basically takes its own throne without doing anything much.
Weapon Details:
- Type: Bow
- Stars: 5
- Obtainable through: Gacha
- Base ATK: 48
- Base Bonus Effect: CRIT Rate 4.8%
Why Skyward Harp Is Great:
- It raises both of your CRIT Rate and DMG. I feel like I don’t really have to explain anything.
- A 60% chance of an AoE ATK is already bigger than the usual 50% chance.
- You can use this on any archer without thinking much about their roles in your party.
Now how was that list? I'm sure there are things you agree with, and some that you don't. Comment down below and tell us your go-to Genshin Impact weapons.
