[Top 3] Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Best Dual Blade Builds

Best Monster Hunter Dual Blades
Two times the blades, two times the power.

The Dual Blades are one of the most fun to use and visually exciting weapons included in Monster Hunter Rise/Sunbreak. They are extremely fast, stylish, and are capable of outputting some of the highest DPS of any Blademaster weapon in the entire game.

Strengths of the Dual Blades:

  • Incredibly high attack speed allows for constant offensive play
  • Ludicrous DPS potential
  • Extremely stylish gameplay
  • Comparatively easy to master compared to other weapons in the game
  • The absolute best melee weapon for outputting elemental damage

While there are countless builds out there, many of which are completely viable, I have narrowed down three that I find particularly impressive. These builds are all capable of outputting some crazy high damage numbers, often in the 200s in a single hit, while also remaining relatively customizable. Without further ado, let's get into the list.

3. Heaven-Sent Build by “Huntress Baked”:

The fourth build described in Huntress Baked’s video, this Heaven-Sent oriented build is capable of outputting some truly insane DPS. It is extremely versatile as it only requires a little tweaking to be effective alongside a weapon of any element, making it a good choice for hunters that don’t want to tailor a new build to every single element. This build also includes a number of skills that help the hunter more effectively manage sharpness, stamina and health.

Build Strengths:

  • Completely removes sharpness consumption while Heaven-Sent is active, allowing for constant offensive play.
  • Bloodlust allows this build to occasionally achieve an affinity rating higher than 100%
  • Extremely high elemental DPS.
  • Works for any element so long as skills like Water Attack are changed for the element of whatever weapon the hunter has equipped.
  • The inclusion of Intrepid Heart changes the damage the hunter receives into chip damage and negates knockback from enemy attacks, allowing for even more offensive pressure and easier health management.

Build Components:

  • Mud Shredders (can be changed for a weapon with a different element)
    • Augments:
      • Attack Boost lv 1
      • Element Boost lv 8

2. Ragnarök (Version 1) by “Yokai Nox”:

This build, as highlighted by Yokai Nox in their video, is the first version of their max DPS Dual Blades build. However, the reason I have chosen this one over the others that Nox showcases in their video is that it is considerably easier to craft. While it does not give the hunter access to the absolute pinnacle of damage potential this weapon has, this build is still capable of producing insane DPS while having relatively low crafting requirements.

Build Strengths:

  • It has a 100% critical hit chance on enemy weak spots.
  • Excellent synergy between Mail of Hellfire, Berserk, and Strife, leading to insane DPS that counters much of the negative effects of these skills (see 5:58 - 7:50 in Yokai Nox’s video to learn more).
  • Extremely high elemental damage output.
  • There is still some room within this build to slot in a few comfort skills like Shock Absorber.
  • Skills like Kushala Blessing allow the hunter to ignore certain kinds of damage to maintain their offensive.

Build Components:

  • Daora’s Ventus
    • Augments:
      • Attack Boost lv 1
      • Element Boost lv 8
  • Chaotic Helm

  • Berserk lv 2
  • Strife lv 3

1. Blood Awakening Build by “Darcblade”

This build was crafted by Darcblade to get the most out of the skill Blood Awakening, which increases the hunter’s damage depending on how much health they receive from attacking while inflicted with Blood Blight or taking advantage of the Bloodrite skill. This build’s synergy with Bloodrite allows it to achieve truly insane damage numbers.

Build Strengths:

  • Utilizes the same synergy between Mail of Hellfire, Berserk, and Strife as the previous build, but adds Blood Awakening to the mix increasing its raw and elemental DPS.
  • Entirely usable with all of the different elements in the game, meaning that the hunter can switch their weapon to the appropriate element for each monster they take on without having to make an entirely separate build (see 1:48 - 2:15 in Darcblade’s video to learn more and for Dual Blades recommendations for each element).
  • Provides the hunter with virtually unlimited stamina so long as they properly maintain their health.
  • The inclusion of Partbreaker alongside Blood Rite and Blood Awakening mean that maintaining your health, despite the constant health drain, is more than achievable.
  • Ludicrous elemental and raw DPS.

Build Components:
