If there is farming and combat in a game, there is bound to be a dwindling Health and Stamina Bar. Only Food can save you now! 

Anything you do, whether it is something as menial as cutting trees, or building through the day to fulfilling commissions as the badass builder you are, your stamina points will decrease alarmingly, and your Health Bar isn’t going to be as full as you would expect when fighting monsters in a dungeon. You can upgrade your clothes, get good gear, and top-tier weapons but the cheapest and the most reliable way to maintain your HP and SP is by consuming food.

After deep-diving through the internet in search of powering foodstuffs, I have created this ultimate food guide for you! You never need to go hungry again or worry about that receding Health and Stamina bars.

10. Strange Soup

Strange soup is… well, unique. It is a blend of many different and random sugary, sweet, and spicy ingredients. It is a mix and match of all flavors. 

This particular dish isn’t a favorite of many, but Nora from the Church of Light and Merlin from The Research Centre love this dish. So, even if you don’t use it in combat or it isn’t your go-to meal in Portia, keep it handy to gift it to Nora and Merlin to increase your relationship with them!

Why Strange Soup is great?

• Grants +10 defense points, lasts for 180 seconds
• Flavorful
• Easy to cook
• Can be sold for 23 Gols
• Can be gifted to Nora/Merlin

How to obtain Strange Soup?

• Can be cooked in the Cooking Set
• Ingredients required: 1 Spicy Seasoning (either ginger/chili pepper), 1 Sweet Seasoning (either sugar/honey), 1 random Seasoning (cinnamon/coriander/cumin), 2 different random ingredients (Fish/meat/milk…)
•  Each ingredient added should be unique and not repeated

9. Bacon Fish Roll

Bacon Fish Roll is a favorite of a long-haired handsome NPC in Portia. You guessed it. Gust! A close contender would be Scraps the dog, who loves it almost as much as Gust.

This dish is very useful, especially when exploring ruins. It affords certain defense points which is handy when battling monsters. Bacon Fish Roll can be cooked by the player or obtained by participating in the Fishing Day Event. 

Why Bacon Fish Roll is great?  

• Grants +45 defense points that lasts for 120 seconds
• Has bacon! Need I say more?
• Can be sold for 93 Gols
• Can be gifted to Gust/Scraps

How to obtain Bacon Fish Roll?

• Either by securing 1st,2nd, or 3rd position on Fishing Day/cooking
• Ingredients required: 1 Blade Fish, 1 Meat, 1 Rock Salt (normal salt cannot be used), and 1 Palm Jujube

8. Bubblefish Stew

This recipe is pretty interesting because it mixes bubblefish with tea leaves to get the stew. This stew is pretty pricey if the player needs the Gols. 

It can also be gifted to various NPCs. This stew can raise a whopping 15 relationship points with Tody and Scraps when gifted. Makes me wonder how a dog in the game could love fish so much. Scraps loves any dish with fish in it! This dish is also much-loved by Mars and Molly.

Why Bubblefish Stew is great?

• Grants +35% Critical Chance which lasts for 180 seconds (Much better than Bubblefish Soup)
• Can be sold for 219 Gols
• Can be gifted to Scraps, Tody, Mars, or Molly

How to obtain Bubblefish Stew?

• Can be achieved by winning The Martial Arts Tournament, or by predicting the winner
• Can be cooked in the Cooking Set
• Ingredients required: 2 Bubblefish, 1 Tea, and 1 Random seasoning (Cumin, coriander, ginger, honey… anything!)

7. Pumpkin Shrimp Soup

If you love pumpkin, this dish is for you! Even if you don’t, this is a good dish to keep handy when exploring ruins. We all know that the sly Stamina Bar always runs low when needed the most. This dish grants +40 stamina. It is a great emergency dish.

Phyllis and Yeye adore this dish. So, if you are looking to befriend them, this is the dish to gift them.

• Grants + 40 SP
• Can be sold for 23 Gols
• Can be gifted to Phyllis/Yeye
• Easy to cook

How to obtain Pumpkin Shrimp Soup?

• From the cooking set!
• Ingredients required: 1 Pumpkin, 1 Lobster Meat, and 1 vegetable (Potato Fruit, Bamboo Papaya, Layered Carrot, or Lettuce)

6. Roasted Pork with Honey

This dish is very easy to make and useful to keep handy. It increases the player’s HP, so it is particularly useful when exploring ruins and battling monsters. We don’t want to run low on HP and die at the last minute!

QQ the pig loves this dish. Again, how weird is it that a pig loves a dish which contains pork? Cannibalism! This dish can also be gifted to Siwa and Scraps to increase relationship points with them.

Why Roasted Pork with Honey is great?

• Restores 60 HP
• Can be gifted to QQ, Scraps, or Siwa
• Can be sold for 25 Gols

How to obtain Roasted Pork with Honey?

• Can be cooked in the cooking set
• Ingredients required: 2 Meat, 1 Sweet Seasoning (either sugar or honey), and 1 fruit (snake berry, apple, etc.)

5. Mushroom Crepe with Fruit Sauce

Mushroom and Fruits. I know what you’re thinking: How can mushrooms go together with fruits?! Well, ask Martha. This dish can be found in Martha’s bakery and I can assure you, despite your reluctance, it will not disappoint.

Lee from the Church of Light, and Scraps love this dish. Scraps seems to love basically everything as long as it is edible.

Why Mushroom Crepe with Fruit Sauce is great?

• Restores 60 HP and 10 SP
• Can be sold for 33 Gols
• Can be gifted to Lee/Scraps
• Easy to cook/purchasable

How to obtain Mushroom Crepe with Fruit Sauce?

• Can be purchased from Martha’s Bakery for 132 Gols
• Can be cooked in the cooking set
• Ingredients required: 1 Apple, 2 Flour and 1 Mushroom

4. Dried Blade Fish

Now we’re talking! Dried Blade Fish had been my go-to dish for the majority of the game after I constructed the Drying Rack. It is the ultimate food that can be mass-produced (depending on the number of blade fish you possess) and stored in the inventory. It grants the highest HP compared to other dishes that you can prepare.

Dried Blade Fish is also a favorite of hard-to-please cat, Pinky. It goes without mentioning that Scraps loves it too. That dog is a staunch foodie!

Why Dried Blade Fish is great?

• Restores 160 HP
• Can be sold for 80 Gols
• Very easy to prepare
• Can be gifted to Pinky/Scraps

How to obtain Dried Blade Fish?

• Can be prepared using the Drying Rack
• Ingredients required: 1 Blade Fish and 1 Salt

3. Dragon Soup

Dragon Soup is an Old World dish that is made from rare birds. This dish can be obtained as a reward for ranking #1 in the workshop rankings at the end of each month or by winning the first position on the second day of Snowball Battle in Winter (it’s not as difficult as it sounds! The answer is, commissions, commissions, and more commissions).

This dish is oddly not giftable. But I wouldn’t know why someone would want to gift a gem like this instead of consuming it when exploring the deepest ruins and its many monsters. This dish cannot be cooked or purchased. It can only be won!

• Increases player’s Defense permanently
• Rare and powerful
• Useful when exploring ruins and dungeons
• Can be sold for 250 Gols

How to obtain Dragon Soup?

• Be #1 ranked Workshop at the end of the month to receive this as a reward
• Be #1 during the second day of Snowball Battle to receive this as a reward

2. Ocean’s Fortune

Again, a formidable dish to keep handy when exploring ruins! It permanently increases player’s Attacks, so go get them monsters!

This dish, despite its usefulness, is not very difficult to obtain. It can be obtained as a reward for ranking as the #1 Workshop in Portia, Martial Arts Tournament, Portia Cook-off, or as a gift from Ack. This dish is also an Old World recipe with a mixture of different seafood. This dish cannot be cooked or purchased.

• Increases player’s Attack permanently
• Useful for Ruin diving, and battling monsters
• Can be sold for 250 Gols

How to obtain Ocean’s Fortune?

• Be #1 ranked Workshop at the end of the month to receive as a reward
• Successfully predicting the winner of Martial Arts Tournament
• Win the Martial Arts Tournament
• Cook at least one dish in Portia Cook-off
• Being ‘Buddies’ with Ack gifts the player with this dish sometimes

1. Foie Gras with Orange

This dish can never, ever go wrong. This dish cannot be cooked, purchased or gifted. But it is not as difficult to obtain either. The player can find it in the mail after the Workshop ranking at the end of the month, or after Snowball Battle.

This gem of a dish increases the player’s HP permanently. Great for ruin diving. Hoard this dish as much as possible and use it generously while battling monsters in ruins.

How to obtain Foie Gras with Orange?

• Be the #1 ranked Workshop and receive this as a reward
