If you tend to lean more towards ruin diving and loot in My Time at Portia, then you will have fought a fair share of monster bosses and lamented at your ever-diminishing Health Bar. There are various types of healing buffs and items in Portia, and it can get pretty confusing which ones you need to keep an eye out for.

That’s why I am here with this list to equip you with the knowledge of these precious healing items that you can either buy or make yourself at your workshop!

7. Herbs

Herbs are very common in the world of Portia. They cannot be grown but can be gathered, purchased, or sold. They spawn in the fields around the town and the player can harvest it as they walk around the area.

Why are Herbs great?

Restores 10 HP
Easy to find
Can be gifted to Dr. Xu for +2 relationship points
Can be sold at almost every shop in Portia

How to get Herbs?

Gathering
Can be bought from Dr. Xu’s clinic
Occasionally earned as rewards after winning sparring matches

6. Simple Antidote

This is a lesser-known healing item in the game. It helps in detoxification and is very useful when ruin diving. This cannot be purchased so the player either needs to craft it or receive it as gifts/rewards. Phyllis will give five of these items when the Medical Research mission is completed.

Why is Simple Antidote great?

Removes poison and makes the player immune for 30 seconds
Can be sold for 22 Gols at almost all shops in Portia
Useful for diving into ruins infested with monsters

How to get Simple Antidote?

Can be crafted at the Worktable with 2 Chrysanthemums and 3 Animal Bones
Can be obtained after beating Level 1 of Sewage Plant
Gifted by Phyllis

5. Herbal Juice

Herbal Juice is a tad bit more effective than just herbs. And the great thing is, it doesn’t take much to make it! It can also be gifted to Dr. Xu and Phyllis (Basically the medical people) for +6 and +2 relationship points, respectively.

Restores 25 HP
Easy to make
Can be sold/gifted

How to get Herbal Juice?

Crafted from Blender by using 2 Herbs
Can be gained as a reward for winning some sparring matches
Sometimes Dr. Xu sends it in the mail if the player is ‘Friends’ with him

4. Herbal Mixture

Herbal Mixture is especially good for small injuries. This healing item can be crafted at the worktable. It can be gifted, sold, or consumed. When gifted to Dr. Xu or Phyllis, it earns the player +6 and +2 relationship points, respectively.

Restores 60 HP
Easy to make
Can be gifted/sold

How to get Herbal Mixture?

Can be crafted at Level 1 Worktable with 2 Herbal Juice and 1 Tree sap
Can be obtained as a gift in Day of the Bright Sun festival
Sometimes, Dr. Xu send this to the player in the mail
Can be found in Treasure Chests hidden in Portia
Seldom obtained as a reward for winning sparring matches

3. Simple Ointment

This is one of the best healing items in the game and much more effective than everything mentioned above. The great thing is that it is fairly easy to make! It also fetches +6 relationship points when gifted to Dr. Xu and Phyllis.

Can be crafted at the Worktable with 2 Herbal Juice and 3 Cotton
Can be purchased from Dr. Xu’s clinic
Phyllis grants 5 Simple Ointments as a reward for the Medical Research mission
Gale grants the player with 5 Simple Ointments during The Eufaula Tunnel mission

2. First Aid Kit

First Aid Kit is a very valuable item to keep handy especially when venturing into monster-infested ruins. In fact, it is recommended to stock them up. We all know how annoying it is to run low on the HP in the middle of a fight. Toby and Lee grant +6 relationship points when they receive this as gifts.

1. Bamboo Incense

A great healing item with a refreshing smell! A must-have for ruin diving. Bamboo Incense cannot be crafted. It can only be purchased from Dr. Xu’s clinic. Sam from the Civil Corps loves this. Gifting this item to her will fetch +12 relationship points.
