Top 10 Kazuya Customizations in Tekken 8

Kazuya Mishima is arguably the face of the Tekken franchise. I have always found him interesting as he started out as the hero of the first game only to shift to a villain in future installments. He stands out from other fighting game leads such as Ryu from Street Fighter in his attitude and thirst for power. Kazuya’s appearance is iconic and lends itself well to player customization. If you are a Kazuya main looking for some creative ideas, this is the article for you.

Top 10 Kazuya Customizations

10. Akuma

Kazuya as Akuma

Akuma is one of Capcom’s most memorable characters. Making his debut as a secret character in Street Fighter II, Akuma's presence and power captured the hearts of fighting game fans. He has made appearances in several franchises outside of the Street Fighter series. Perhaps his most shocking appearance was in Tekken 7 as one of the strongest playable characters and part of the main story. While he has not been announced for Tekken 8, Kazuya can pay homage to the Raging Demon via Customization Mode.

What you need:

  • Default Hair (Red)
  • Dark Irises (Red Pupils)
  • Tan Skin
  • Karate Top (Dark Blue)
  • Ripped Karate Bottoms (Dark Blue)
  • Optional Vigor (Red)

9. Heihachi Mishima

Like father, Like Son

Did you really think Heihachi was dead at the end of Tekken 7? A lesson I took to heart from the Mortal Kombat series is that no one ever stays dead in a fighting game. Heihachi is the man that founded the King of the Iron Fist Tournament. His feud with his son Kazuya is one of the most epic stories in video game history. While not being a part of the base roster, Heihachi is scheduled as the next DLC character in the Fall. Kazuya can honor his father ( or mock him) in Customization Mode..

What you need:

  • Devil Horns Black
  • Shaved Head
  • Karate Top (Black)
  • Ripped Karate Bottom ( Black)
  • Optional Electric Aura

8. Iori Yagami

The King of Fighters is a series that does not get enough respect. It has a unique style of 3v3 combat and has an abundance of memorable characters. One of my favorite fighters is the edgy, saxophone loving Iori Yagami. His easy to pick up playstyle usually guarantees him a spot on one of my teams. While Iori often serves as a rival to the main hero there have been times where he has aligned with the side of good. Kazuya and Iori are somewhat identical in their struggles with their inner demons and their great fashion sense

What you need:

  • Asuka Short Hair (Red)
  • Leather Coat ( Black and Red)
  • Trousers (Red)
  • Leather Shoes

7. Demetri Maximoff

I pray every night for a new Darkstalkers game. While Morrigan may be the face of the franchise, Demetri Maximoff is arguably the protagonist of the series. His actions are directly responsible for a lot of the events in the story. Similar to Kazuya, Demetri has a no nonsense attitude with a thirst for power over the world. If you’re a Darkstalkers fan who wants to show your support, try out this customization

What you need:

  • Default Hair (Orange)
  • Default costume (Blue and Red/Orange)
  • Stripped Ribbon
  • Leather Shoes (Brown)

6. OmniMan

The Invincible series has skyrocketed in popularity thanks to the stellar Amazon TV series. Its comedy, heart, and over the top violence is a breath of fresh air when compared to Marvel and DC . OmniMan is arguably the series’ most popular character, outshining even the titular character himself . Omniman has even made an appearance in Mortal Kombat 1 as DLC. Due to Kazuya’s relationship with his own son Jin, I believe that OmniMan is a perfect muse for customization.

What you need:

  • Heroic Short Cut (Black)
  • Blue Eyes
  • Mustache
  • Cyber Suit (Red & White)

5. David Martinez

From the studio that created the highly acclaimed Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2099 was a mess with its debut on consoles. It serves as a cautionary tale for game creators’ lofty ambitions.. That being said, the spinoff anime, Cyberpunk Edgerunners was universally beloved when it hit Netflix in 2022. David Martinez’s rise to power in Night City is short with only 10 episodes, but leaves a lasting impression. He has an iconic look and aura that fits well with Kazuya.

What you need:

  • Smart Hair
  • Wild Camo Jacket (All Yellow)
  • Tan Jeans
  • Dog Tag

4. Kakashi Hatake

Kazuya as Kakashi Hatake

Kakashi Hatake is arguably the coolest teacher in Anime. Despite his tragic backstory and trauma he has a laid back personality that makes him likeably even outside the Naruto fanbase. His design is so simple yet memorable and has been the inspiration for future manga works (Satoru Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen). Aesthetically, Kazuya shares some similarities with Kakashi, with both of them having a red left eye and are wielders of electricity.

What you need:

  • Default Hair or Smart Hair Style (White)
  • Shinobi Mask
  • Japanese Headband
  • Biker Vest (Green and Black)

3. Dio Brando

Kazuya as DIO

Dio Brando is one of the most iconic antagonists in all of anime and manga. He is the epitome of egomania and he loves every bit of it. I remember watching the first episode of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure and was shocked to see his outlandishly cruel deeds. It would be interesting see an interaction between Kazuya and Dio just to see them compete for dominance.

What you need:

  • Default Hairstyle (Gold)
  • Japanese Headband (Green)
  • Default Outfit (Gold, Black & Green)
  • Gold Vigor

2. Sukuna

Kazuya as Sukuna

Jujutsu Kaisen has been hailed as one Shonen Jump’s modern hits alongside Demon Slayer.r. Its fast paced action, memorable characters and darker tone has struck a chord with many manga readers. Sukuna, the main antagonist, has received positive reception for his role in the story. Many shonen stories use the “inner demon troupe” as a way for the protagonist to gain a power boost. Jujutsu Kaisen puts this trope on its head by having Sakuna actively scheme against the protagonist Yuji and even succeed in leaving his body. Kazuya pairs well with Sakuna, as he willingly allows his devil gene to take control over him.

What you need:

  • Claudia Hairstyle (Pink)
  • Third Eye
  • Haori (Black)

1. Vegeta

There would be no Kazuya Mishima without Prince Vegeta IV. Making his debut in the second half of the Dragon Ball manga, Vegeta is as iconic as series protagonist, Son Goku. Initially appearing as a villain, his slow but gradual shift to the good side is entertaining and compelling. Vegeta started out as a brutal space pirate who slaughtered innocent people, but transitioned into a loving family man and defender of earth. I still have hope that someday Kazuya will get his own redemption arc.

What you need:

  • Default Hairstyle (Black, Gold, Blue or Purple)
  • Tank Top (Blue)
  • Training Pants (Blue)
  • Nikias Boots (White)

Kazuya is a great character for customization. His design pairs well with the motifs of many beloved anime and video game characters. Since Kazuya is one of the main characters of Tekken he has the potential for exclusive customization items.
