As with most Assassin’s Creed games and most games in general, AC Odyssey offers the player a chance to adjust the difficulty level to fit their skill level. Players looking for a particularly difficult challenge will be delighted to know that the Nightmare mode in this game is both very fun and very hard. That being said, the best way to tackle any game’s difficult mode is to prepare yourself the best you can. A strong build will assist the player by providing unique skills and damages that one could capitalize on.

3. Poison Assassin

Make your way through AC Odyssey like a plague

I believe that Nightmare requires a certain combination of smarts, tactical prowess and improvisation. For this reason, a poison build makes sense to use because it also requires those same attributes from a player. By tactically advancing through large forts, the player could use poison and slowly infect the whole populace. While maybe not as thrilling as a berserker build, going on your journey with an affinity for poison will help you for the long haul.

• Passive damage on enemies
• Added assassination boost
• Tactical advantage in large groups

• Viper's Hood: +25% Assassin damage/+10 Seconds Intoxicated duration
• Scaled Torso: +25% Assassin damage/+40% Poison damage
• Venom Gloves: +25% Assassin damage/+50% Elemental buildup
• Slithering Belt: +25% Assassin damage/+40% Poison damage
• Noxious Belt: +25% Assassin damage/+10 Seconds Intoxicated duration
• Arachne's Stingers: +25% Assassin damage/+40% Poison damage
• Fanged Bow: +25% Assassin damage/+40% Poison damage

2. High Energy Assassin

The high speed assassin, deadly and quick.

I must say, this build is impressive. It almost doesn’t feel right watching the video because of how effortlessly the player gets through a crowded fortress. I will note the player’s use of abilities and how they still try to make the best usage of stealth attacks when possible. If you’re looking for a way to absolutely wreck opponents while trying to avoid drawn-out melee fights, this is the way to go. Obviously, the down side to this is you’re pigeon-holed into playing in this style only. Not to mention, the OP has over 310 hours of time played, making this a build that will more than likely take a bit of time to assemble/upgrade.

Why High Energy Assassin is Great for Nightmare:

• Quick, almost instant, kills on most interactions
• Sweep through forts without engaging in massive melee fights
• Fast-paced play style

• Royal Atlantean Helmet: +24% Assassination damage/+50% CRIT damage/+20% CRIT chance while full health
• Stolen Isu Bracers: +24% Assassination damage/+10% CRIT damade/+20% CRIT chance while full health/+100% CRIT chance while full health
• First Civilization Chestplate: +24% Assassination damage/+20% Health/+10% All damage/+18% Assassination damage
• Mercenary Belt: +24% Assassination damage/+100% CRIT damage while full health/+10% All damage/+10% CRIT chance
• Plated Greaves: +24 Warrior damage/+40% Fire damage/+100% CRIT damage while full health/+18% Assassination damage
• Toxarchos Reflex Bow: +24% Assassination damge/+10% All damage/+10% CRIT chance
• Spatha: +24% Assassination damage/+40% Fire damage/+50% CRIT damage/+30% Damage with swords

1. Demi-God Build

The only thing better than a god!

Wow. This build rocks. Rightfully named the “Demi-God” build by the OP, this build is so lethal and fun to use. As a hybrid build, it utilizes different stat boosts and abilities to effectively make the player an unstoppable force. As described in the video, the AoE of the staff, combined with the use of poison and assassination skills, allows the player to take on every activity in this game with ease. It is highly effective against legendary beasts and conquest battles. For these reasons, I am ranking it as the top dog  of Nightmare builds. 

Why Demi-God is Great for Nightmare:

• Useful combination of poison and assassination boosts
• Staff AoE is perfect to fend off enemies and keep your distance
• Effective in every activity

• Hunter’s Hood: +18% Assassination damage/+50% CRIT damage/+20% CRIT chance while full health/+40% Chance to ignore half damage
• Athenian Gauntlets: +18% Assassination damage/+10% CRIT chance/+50% CRIT damage/+100% CRIT damage while full health
• Mercenary Breastplate: +18% Assassination damage/+50% CRIT damage/+40% Poison damage
• Mercenary Belt: +18% Assassination damage/+100% CRIT damage while full health/+10% CRIT chance/+40% Chance to ignore half damage
• Persian Warrior Boots: +18% Assassination damage/+20% CRIT chance while full health/+30% Damage with staffs/+100% CRIT damage while full health
• Rough Staff: +18% Hunter damage/+50% CRIT damage/+30% Damage with staffs/+40% Poison damage
