The armor you wear in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will determine everything. This article will dive into the best armor sets in the game. The choice of armor is crucial, as it can set your whole build and you can easily make it suitable for your preferred style of play. 

The armors in the game have specific boosts and perks, which can be fully used when combined with the player's purchased abilities and style of play. That is why choosing suitable armor is so crucial. In this article, I will guide you through, what is in my opinion, the top 10 best armor sets in AC Odyssey. 

The first thing you have to know is that the armors in Odyssey are not suited to wear them constantly. Unless you choose legendary sets, there is no reason to stick with one armor piece for the whole game. You can exchange armor as often as you come across better ones.

However, when you obtain the legendary sets, it is best to collect all armor pieces to have extra boosts that set offers. Once you get a hold of such armor and you choose the one that is the best for you, wear it. Upgrade it or add engravings, you can do everything to make them even better for your style of play. 

To show you the options amongst legendary armor sets I created this ranking to guide you for boosts of each piece of armor in the set. I also wrote about armor sets’ abilities and how to find them. Here is my ranking of the best armor in game sets in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey!

 

1. Snake Armor Set

Snake Armor Set is one of the legendary armor sets available in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Its main focus is to boost your Assassin and Poison Damage. The armor is a great fit along with Poison Abilities. 

You can get this armor fairly quickly and obtain the legendary set before reaching the 19th level. This is probably the earliest you can get the whole legendary set and that’s what makes Snake Armor the perfect early game armor.

This armor is probably the best one you can wear at the early to mid-game stage. The first piece of armor you will find will be Scaled Torso, which can already be obtained around the 10th level. Practically all pieces of the armor can be obtained aside from the main storyline, so you decide when you will get it. 

What Snake Armor excels in: 

• boosts to assassin damage
• boosts to poison damage 
• intoxication boost
• best suited when used with poison abilities

How to get Snake Armor Set: 

The Scaled Torso will be available to you after killing and looting Elpenor in the main quest “Snake in the Grass”. From there on finish a few main quests to unlock the list of Cultists. Once you unlock the list you can start getting the whole armor set. You will have to eliminate all 5 members of the Eyes of Kosmos branch to get Snake Armor.  

 

2. Pirate Set

Another legendary armor set you can get in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. This one is probably the second you will be able to obtain in full around the 30th level, which makes it perfect for mid-game. The Pirate Set is a perfect choice for any player who likes to sneak and inflict assassin damage on the opponents. 

In my opinion, this set is great in terms of assassin abilities and damage. The players who like to sneak and kill from the shadow will use the full capabilities of this set. Moreover, the critical chance boost can also come in very handy in many tough battles.

Pirate Set is also perfect for this stage of the game because most players would have already determined their favorite style of play. The Pirate Set will be then a great boost to all players enjoying a more stealth approach to fighting the enemies.

What Pirate Set excels in: 

• Assassin damage 
• it is relatively quick to get all the pieces of the set 
• you don’t need to follow the main storyline to get all the armor pieces
• boosts CRIT chance and damage 
• perfect for mid-game 

How to get Pirate Set:

Pirate Set can be obtained by defeating the members of „Gods Of The Aegean Sea”. You will have to look for clues to find the members of this branch of the Cult of Kosmos. The latest members of this branch can be unlocked around the 30th level and that’s when you will be able to complete the last piece of the set.  

 

3. Immortal Set

Immortal Set is another example of the armor set that can be collected throughout the early to mid-game stage. Its main advantages are the boosts in warrior damage and CRIT Damage and Chance. Moreover, when fully worn, it makes you feel as if you were immortal. 

This armor of course boosts warrior damage significantly. Aside from it though, we have great boosts to both CRIT Chance,and Damage, while Low Health and Adrenaline. Plus its additional boost when you wear the whole set allows you to resurrect which is awesome.

This set is perfect at mid-game because it can be completed in full around the 34th-36th level. Moreover, this set can allow you to fight the toughest enemies without a holdback. Perfect armor for risk-takers who like dangerous and difficult gameplay. 

What Immortal Set excels in:

• allows for resurrection when you lose all health 
• it has great additional boosts
• it significantly boosts your warrior damage

How to get Immortal Set: 

Getting this set is only possible after finishing the 3rd episode of the game. To obtainthis set you will have to defeat the Worshippers of the Bloodline, a branch of the Cult of Kosmos.

The cultists you will have to defeat are Zoisme, Diona, Chrysis, Melite and Harpalos. While you can defeat Chrysis during the Main Story Quest, you have to find the rest of them on your own. The one exception is Diona, who you can defeat during the “I, Diona” side quest, which can be found on Kythera Island.

This is a typical Spartan armor that resonates perfectly with Spartan Heroes. It is concentrated on attacking and crushing your opponents. Add to it the badass look and you will get the perfect Spartan War Hero Set. 

The set is focused on all-around damage. It boosts both Warrior Damage and Damage on Athenian Soldiers. What’s more it also boosts All Damage and CRIT Chance & Damage. All concentrated on inflicting as much damage as possible.

The Spartan War Hero Set is perfect to wear at mid-game because you can already begin collecting it around the 20th level. It is designed for aggressive players who like to fight against odd numbers. This armor can help you level up quickly and gather the whole set in no time.

How to get the Spartan War Hero Set: 

Yet again you will have to hunt cultists to obtain the set. This time, you will have to defeat all of the members of the “Peloponnesian League” branch. In the case of this branch, you will have to hunt some of the cultists on your own through side missions, while you will be able to kill the others through mainline quests. 

 

5. Agamemnon Set

Agamemnon Set is the legendary armor named after the King who led Greece into the battle against Troy. The armor is just as legendary as its name bearer. Only take a look to see this glorious set. 

Now, here is something for all the players who like to leave the earth scorched. This armor will fit you best when using Fire Abilities. Not only does it boost it significantly, but it also boosts the burning duration, damage, and buildup. It makes it ideal for all players who use primarily those abilities.

This armor is also very good in the early game, however, it can only be fully worn in the late mid-game. You can start wearing certain pieces of the armor early on in the game and collect them by the time you reach the 45th level. Overall, this can be one of your long-lasting armors. 

What Agamemnon Set excels in: 

• Fire Damage boost
• Warrior Damage boost
• Longer Burning Duration 
• Elemental Buildup boost
• huge burning rate boost when the full set is worn

How to get Agamemnon Set: 

You can start collecting this set already around the 10th level. To obtain all pieces you will have to kill all members of “The Silver Vein”. Track them all down, gather clues, and kill each member to receive the whole Agamemnon Set.

 

6. Amazon Set

The Amazon Set is probably one of the most all-around sets in the game. Fitting perfectly the warrior nation of the mythical Amazons. The legendary set is one of the more advanced armors in the game and you can start collecting it around the 20th level, but most of it will be found around the 35th-45th level.

I think that this armor is perfect for anyone with a balanced style of play. The set boosts multiple aspects of your character, giving perks to multiple different statistics. It also boosts Warrior Damage all around,  so this makes this set unique.

This armor is good after you reach the 32nd level and it is ideal for the mid-game. By that time you will be able to collect almost all pieces and play with almost whole armor. There is also not much armor you can collect to such a huge extent at this level.

What Amazon Set excels in: 

• huge Warrior Damage 
• Adrenaline per Hit boost
• CRIT Chance boost
• All Damage boost
• CRIT Damage boost  

How to get an Amazon Set:

To gather all pieces of the Amazon Set you will have to kill all members of the “Heroes of the Cult” branch of the Cult of Kosmos. Almost all of them will be reachable outside of the mainline quests. You can also find one of the cultists in the Arena at Pephka.

 

7. Greek Hero Set

The true armor of the Hero of Odyssey. This armor is one of the best sets in the game, however getting it can be long and tiring. Nevertheless, this armor is certainly worth the struggle.

The Greek Hero Set is one of my favorites. It’s perfect in terms of defense and resistance boosts. If you want to fight with multiple enemies at once and need heavy armor that can protect you from damage, the Greek Hero Set is perfect. 

This armor is also perfect at late mid to late game because it lets you fight stronger enemies and still protect you significantly. Moreover, it doesn’t matter who you fight. The Greek Hero Set is the perfect defense for all different types of opponents in the AC Odyssey.

What Greek Hero Set excels in: 

• Warrior Damage
• Armor boosts
• Resistance boosts
• Health Boosts
• Impeccable defense

How to get the Greek Hero Set:

To obtain the set you will have to kill five mercenaries with different suffixes in their names. You can uncover them throughout the game at random. The mercenaries that will drop parts of the Greek Hero Set have “the Resplendent”, “the Frenzied”, “the Translucent”,  “the Lucky Drunk” and “the Flash” in their names. 

 

8. Athenian War Hero Set

Perfect set for the players excelling in archery. If you love using your bow in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and you purchased a lot of abilities connected to bowing, then this set is for you. Not only does it look epic, but it also boosts Hunter Damage and Archery Abilities significantly.

I never really used this set a lot. I am not a big fan of hunting in the game and I didn’t use a bow very often. However, if you focus on upgrading those skills and you use a bow very often, then this will be the set that will take your hunting and archery to the next level. 

Moreover, this armor is good at the late mid-game because by this time you will have bought the most important Archery Abilities. Once you begin wearing this set, those abilities will only be amplified and will turn you into an actual archery master.

What Athenian War Hero Set excels in: 

• Hunter Damage boosts
• Boosts the Archery Abilities 
• Has not one but two additional boosts when the whole set is worn
• Boosts when fighting Spartans  

How to get the Athenian War Hero Set:

This set is quite problematic to obtain. To do it, you will have to kill all the members of the “Delian League”, one of the branches of the Cult of Kosmos. Some of the members can be found by progressing through the main quests, however some can be found by doing side quests or fighting in the Arena. A bit of everything is needed to finally gain this legendary set. 

 

9. Arena Fighter's Set

Arena Fighter’s Set is an armor thatexcels at heavy damage. If you are keen on exploding hits, this set will be perfect. As the name suggests, this armor is for the fighters.

Overall, I did not use this armor a lot, but it has nice perks nevertheless. Firstly, it boosts overpower abilities, which I like to use. Also, it allows for health restoration when using these abilities. This set is also perfect for players who like to change weapons as it boosts damage with different types of tools. 

Like most legendary sets, this armor can be collected in mid to late-game. Its usefulness varies on whether its boosts suit your style of play. If you use Overpower Abilities and like the described style of play, then this armor can fit you ideally.

What Arena Fighter’s Set excels in: 

• Overpower Abilities boost
• Health restoration perk 
• Warrior Damage boost
• Assassin Damage boost
• Boosts to different weapon damage 

How to get Arena Fighter’s Set:

The Arena Fighter’s Set can be collected starting at around the 22nd level. However, the whole armor can be obtained around level 50, making it a mid to late-game armor set. To obtain it, you will have to beat all the champions at the Arena during the “They Just Want Cruelty” side quest. 

 

10. Demigod Set

The Demigod Set is probably the last set you will be able to collect in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. The armor is perfect for the late game, it gives huge boosts and has a great design. Moreover, most of it can be obtained during the main story quest so you cannot miss it.

The powers of the Demigod Set are well-balanced. This armor can be used by players who do not have one distinctive set of abilities. The set fits such a play style perfectly. 

It is also the best armor to collect at this stage of the game because you will be able to have ⅘ pieces of the armor all at once. Moreover, its stats are really good and perfect for the late game.

What Demigod Set excels in: 

• All Damage boost
• Warrior Damage Boost
• Damage Boost to all abilities 

How to get the Demigod Set:

To obtain four out of five pieces you will have to finish the confrontation with Deimos in Episode 9. This is one of the last main quests in the game. You can gain the armor either by fighting or resolving the dispute peacefully.

To get the last piece of the armor set you will have to finish the quest “A Fresh Start”. To get this quest available you will have to uncover The Ghost of Kosmos and confront them.
