How the Battle Would Go Down
There’s a lot of ways this battle could play out and each scenario gives one or the other a different outcome. Does Iron Man have his suit? Does Batman have time to study and analyze his opponent? Are they simply fighting as Tony Stark and Bruce Wayne in hand to hand combat?
If Iron Man doesn’t have his suit, it’d be game over for him. While he isn’t totally incapable of a fight with fisticuffs, Batman is a master in 127 different martial arts. His physical strength is far superior to Tony’s, so if they were to fight without any gadgets or suits, the win would easily go to Batman.
Giving Bruce and Tony time to analyze each other before going into a fight would probably leave Iron Man defeated as well. Tony wouldn’t spend much time trying to learn his opponent’s strengths and weaknesses, as he would feel like he has already won with his suit. Bruce being the master tactician that he is would analyze Tony’s entire being.
Bruce would figure out how to take down Iron Man far before going up against him and he would be prepared when they finally met. It wouldn’t take long for Iron Man to go down, most likely realizing he was outmatched too late.
If the two were to meet randomly, without ever knowing of each other’s existence, and Tony had his Iron Man suit and Bruce with his Batman suit, this is where it gets interesting. Tony is now stronger, more durable, and can fly incredibly fast.
Jarvis would help him analyze the fight the entire time as well, giving Iron Man the same tactical edge as Batman, if not better. Batman still has his own gadgets and physical attributes to fall back on. He has his grappling hook and batarangs as well as emp and smoke grenades. Batman’s utility belt is not lacking for this fight.
Bruce also has the element of stealth. If they’re fighting in any place where Batman can hide and come in for a surprise attack, that could be a huge advantage for him. Iron Man can use heat signatures or some other means of finding Batman through his suit, but it would take him a while before he would figure out Batman was hiding.
It’s hard to say in a scenario like this who would win. Iron Man would have far more physical capabilities, but Batman isn’t powerless. They’d both put up a good fight but I think at the end of it Iron Man’s suit would triumph over Batman’s capabilities alone.
And The Winner Is...
Batman. After several scenarios, Batman won all but one of them. Iron Man would put up a good fight, but he relies on his suit while Batman’s capabilities come from his own body and mind.
