In any firefight, a handgun is understandably not your first choice for a weapon. That doesn't mean they can't save your life in the right situations. Have you ever run out of ammo with your primary and your only saving grace is a handgun? No need to worry, this list will help keep you alive in Battlefield 2042 with the top three most powerful handguns.

1. MP28

Starting off this list is the most balanced of the three handguns, the MP28. Without focusing on firepower or rate of fire, the MP28 has a healthy mixture of both. The base version of this gun will do its job, but I definitely recommend unlocking the drum magazine to give you 25 bullets per mag. The MP28 is an excellent companion to bring along with any primary weapon.

• Handling - 64
• Rate of Fire - 450
• Magazine - 10

The MP28 is unlocked upon reaching level 17.

2. M44

The M44 is the Mike Tyson of handguns. Due to its slow rate of fire and small magazine size, it can be slightly difficult to master. However it by far packs the heaviest punch with its insane firepower. It will take some practice because you definitely don't want to miss a shot but when you hit, your enemy knows it.

• Accuracy - 60
• Range - 58
• Handling - 52
• Rate of Fire - 150
• Magazine - 6

The M44 is unlocked upon reaching level 29.

3. PF51

The PF51 is an absolute menace of a handgun. Don’t let the low firepower number fool you; with its extreme rate of fire and large magazine size, the PF51 is a beast. Within seconds, you will have emptied up to 50 bullets into one of your enemies. Ouch! This handgun is the most powerful in the game, and you will never go wrong by including this one in your loadout.

• Range - 34
• Handling - 70
• Rate of Fire - 900
• Magazine Size - 50

The PF51 is unlocked upon reaching level 22 of the Battle Pass.
