[Top 10] DBZ Best Girls (Ranked)

The Girls

Unfortunately for the longest time, the girls in Dragonball were never really given much attention and screen time compared to their male counterparts. While this doesn’t at all mean that the series is sexist, it’s still worth noting the stark difference.

However, many female characters in the show's decades-long run time have added so much to the series overall and are vital members of the franchise, to the point where it just wouldn’t be quite right if they weren’t there. So, let’s break down the best girls in Dragonball!

10. Vados

Smirks in Ultra Instinct

Link: Whis's big sis

Unfortunately, Vados is a character that doesn’t get much screen time ever since her appearance, though it is still more than any other angels except for our beloved Whis. In her limited time on screen/paper, we are told that she is an absolute badass who was stronger than Whis at some point, having beaten him in a fight a few times.

Personality wise, she is pretty funny and quick witted, always finding a way to embarrass Champa, and on one occasion, even making him scared for his life in front of Zeno and the Grand Priest where she told him that Champa is lazy and just eats all day, ignoring his divine responsibilities. A great and hilarious character that we need to see more of!

9. Launch

One of the OG’s

Link: Where did you come from, where did you go

Launch is a character that will likely be a mystery to most people except for those who have seen the original Dragonball. She was a pretty fun character because usually, she would walk around being all nice and lovely and was generally really good to our main characters, until of course she sneezed.

Whenever Launch would sneeze, she would change completely, both physically and emotionally. When in her blonde form, she was angry and irritable, always willing to take anyone on and always having a vast array of weapons at her disposal. A really fun and cool character that has unfortunately been resigned to the background.

8. Future Mai (Dragonball Super)

Something’s off here…

Link: Maybe not as creepy

The fans of the OG Dragonball series may see the current state of Mai a bit differently as compared to those fans who have gotten into the series through DBZ or DBS. This is because while Mai seems to be a kid, she actually has the mind of an adult woman in the body of a little girl, which is super weird considering her story arc is one where she’s being pushed to be a romantic interest for Trunks.

Future Mai, however, is a greatcharacter. She is the one who helps Trunks the most in the fight against Goku Black. She is smart and very helpful, serving not only as Future Trunk’s love interest, but also as one of the leaders and generals for the remaining population of humans on Earth. Also, this time her involvement with Trunks is fine because, you know, he isn’t a child anymore.

7. Kale

KALE MAAAAAAAD!!!!

Link: The Broly we have at home:

The introduction of Kale’s unique Super Saiyan form was an amazing one as it was the perfect call back to one of the franchises most beloved characters: Broly, the Legendary Super Saiyan. Though Broly would later become canon, at this stage in the story he wasn’t, so they paid the perfect homage to him.

Kale was introduced as an extremely shy and timid girl who was not much of a fighter, but upon gaining confidence from her friend Caulifla, she began to awaken her latent strength and awaken her giant berserker form. Kale goes onto control this form and becomes an insanely powerful force to be reckoned with and destroys much of her TOP competition.

6. Chichi

Why save the word when you can study?

Link: Just shut up for once man

Chichi is a character that has been around in the series for very long, since the very start of it in fact. Ever since Dragonball, she was very clearly pushed to be a fighter and the primary love interest for Goku but as time went on in the franchise, she just got resigned to her role as a housewife.

This character herself is one that does get a lot of hate from fans, and often rightfully so as she is always complaining and nagging about things and is very loud and annoying. However, it shouldn’t take away from the overall character that she is as she has always loved and has been supportive of her family and is a central figure in the lives of Goku, Gohan and Goten.

5. Kefla

The smug face of the strongest mortal

Link: Badass

Kefla was the product of the fusion between Kale and Caulifla, which ended up creating one of the strongest fighters in all of the Tournament of Power. Though much like Vados in the sense that we didn’t see much of her, Kefla makes the most of her time by being an absolute scene stealer each time we see her.

She is insanely powerful and is a huge trash talker as well, which makes her a formidable force on the battlefield, requiring Ultra Instinct Omen Goku to take her out in the show and Ultimate Gohan in the Manga. Each way, she’s a real threat. However, the best part about her is her personality, as her cockiness and very nature of being remind us of a massive fan favorite who was also a product of Potara fusion; Vegito!

4. Caulifla

Always ready for a fight

Link: Kefla Lite

The personality for Kefla is largely based off of Caulifla’s way more than Kale’s, which is also the biggest reason why Kefla seems to remind a lot of people of Vegito. Caulifla is a young, brash and potty-mouthed saiyan from Universe 6 that just oozes personality and charm. While she is reckless and rude, it’s never in an annoying way, which is why she is such a beloved character.

Caulifla, much like Kefla, stole pretty much every single scene that she was in and out of all the Universe 6 Saiyans, she was the most like her Universe 7 counterparts. This was in the sense that she was most willing to always push herself to her limits and get even stronger no matter what the cost and because of this, she was able to master SS1 and SS2 within the time of the TOP!

3. Videl

A true badass

Link: Underrated character

Videl is an amazing but a very underrated character. She has unfortunately been in the background a lot as of Dragonball Super and we have not even really seen her all that much, but in her prime during the Buu saga when she was introduced, very few other characters were as inquisitive and fiery upon their introduction.

She was the one to figure out Gohan’s Great Saiyaman secret and was also the one to get him to train her, eventually going on to help him as well. Being the daughter of Mr. Satan, the most famous man on the planet, one would expect Videl to be a spoiled brat but she is nothing like that and is a very humble, driven and kind person. It was great to see her become a permanent member of the group after marrying and having a child with Gohan.

2. Android 18

World’s #1 mom

Link: Number 1 mom

Android 18 has gotten some of the best character development throughout the whole run of the franchise. Starting off as a killer robot that was able to defeat even Super Saiyan Vegeta (who was the most powerful character at that point in the story), she went through a lot of  character development and ended up marrying Krillin and even having a daughter with him.

She is still one of the most powerful fighters in the entirety of Universe 7 and was able to be  very helpful for her team during the TOP, eliminating many enemies. However, what makes her truly special is that she changed from her old ways and she even quite hilariously wasn’t going to participate in the Tournament but only chose to do so for her daughter!

1. Bulma

Just the best

Link: The most important Z Fighter

If you had to make a list of the most important characters in the entire series now, Bulma would easily take the top spot after Goku and Vegeta. She is not only the smartest person in the entire show, but is also the richest, meaning that she has all the resources on the planet to help with everything.

She was the one responsible for making the Dragon Radar, which was one of the major plot points of Dragonball Z, as well as being the one that everyone relies on for the technological and resource heavy side of things for the team.

Not only this, Bulma is also just an amazing character, delivering many laughs and touching moments throughout her time in the series, always being principally driven by her love for Vegeta and her children and the rest of her friends as well. Dragonball Super has not diminished her importance to the overall story at all, and in fact is the closest thing Whis and Beerus, the 2 strongest beings in the entire Universe, have to a friend! A fantastic character.
