What are the best Critical builds for Nightblades in ESO?
Critical Damage is one of the best ways to increase your DPS in The Elder Scrolls Online, and while there are counters to this with Critical Resistance equipments, Critical builds are still a very viable and reliable choice when it comes to Nightblades.
This list will cover some of the best builds for Nightblades focused around Critical stats, with many unique approaches to this concept, and many playstyles for you to choose from when building your character.
5. The Raven
The first entry on our list is The Raven, a solo Stamina Nightblade build that uses this class to its full potential, mixing the DPS and sustain capabilities of the Nightblade. The highlight here is how this build uses the Briarheart set in combination with high Critical stats in order to deal powerful Critical Strikes and great self healing at the same time
What The Raven Excels at:
- Can deal with tankier enemies due to its very high Offensive Penetration;
- Very high sustain to your Health and Stamina provided by high Recovery values;
- Constant self healing provided by the Ring of the Pale Order;
- Very fast to clear big groups of enemies using the Thunderous Volley Bow;
- Additional self healing with Critical Strikes while using the Briarheart set.
4. The Beast
The Beast is a PvE Nightblade Werewolf build that does it all: consistent DPS, very high Critical stats, powerful single target damage, strong AoE damage and insane self healing. Furthermore, your light and heavy attacks will stack additional damage through the Harmful Winds. Check this one out if your auto attack weaving is on point.
What The Beast excels at:
- Very high and consistent DPS for endgame PvE content;
- Additional damage from harmful wind stacks built up with your auto attacks;
- Focused on Critical Damage, with very high Critical stats;
- Powerful AoE damage with the splash effects of Werewolf Berserker;
- Very high self healing using the Claws of Life ability.
3. Crimson Veil
Crimson Veil is another Nightblade build that uses Critical Strikes in order to have high survivability, this time using the Iceheart monster set. This is a classic Magblade setup, and, at the same time, it can turn you into a Magicka tank with its insane survivability, and the damage is no joke either, with very high Critical stats and powerful AoE damage.
What Crimson Veil excels at:
- Great for clearing huge groups of enemies due to its powerful AoE damage;
- Lots of Magicka Recovery, meaning you will be able to spam your abilities without worry;
- Very high Spell Damage, further increased by a constant source of Major Sorcery;
- Great survivability using the Iceheart monster set to grant damage shields whenever you deal Critical Damage;
- Additional damage to bosses provided by the Bahsei’s Mania trial set.
2. Blood Frenzy
Blood Frenzy is a Magicka Nightblade setup that takes advantage of the strong synergy between the Siphoning and Vampire skill trees, creating a setup that is very hard to beat. This build basically puts you in a loop: dealing damage heals you, and healing increases your damage. And the way to ensure both damage and healing outputs are very high, that’s where the Critical stats come in.
What Blood Frenzy excels at:
- Very high survivability provided through the Spell Power Cure armor set;
- Very high Critical Chance and Critical Damage;
- Overhealing yourself or an ally grants Major Courage, which greatly increases your Weapon and Spell Damage;
- Very high Maximum Magicka and reduced Magicka cost, allowing you to spam your abilities;
- High Maximum Health, making you tankier than other Magblades.
1. Brawler
Finishing our list with a one bar build, The Brawler is a great option for players who enjoy dealing strong single target damage while keeping those damage shields up. This setup has very high Critical stats that in combination with the Hexo’s Ward armor set can make you nearly impossible to kill.
What Brawler excels at:
- Powerful Critical Strikes due to very high Critical stats;
- Abilities are spammable due to very high Stamina Recovery and reduced resource cost;
- Easy to master and fun to play, being a one bar build using the Oakensoul Ring;
- Very high survivability using the Hexo’s Ward armor set, which gives you a damage shield whenever you deal Critical Damage;
- Powerful self healing, and all over healing is converted into even more damage shields.
