Fortnite has always been on-point with its cosmetics. Especially, the back blings have always stood out. The game was changed when the first animated, pet back bling was released in season 6.

I’ll list down some of the best back blings, loved by the whole community including some of my favorites.

15. Rocket

Item display

Rocket raccoon is a loved character in the “Guardians of the Galaxy” movie series. He was introduced in Fortnite and the community adored the idea of having rockets on their backs.

14. Royale Shield

Royale shield is as OG as it can get. This was one of the first back blings in the game. Even after 4 years, this will still get your attention in the pre-game lobby.

What makes Royale Shield Great:

• It’s an OG back bling.
• Nice color combination.
• You look like a knight with it on.

13. Proto-Adamantium Shield

This back bling doesn’t need any introduction as I’m sure you know it's Captain America’s shield. C’mon, you can’t tell me you wouldn’t love to have this shield on your back.

What makes Proto-Adamantium Shield Great:

• It is Captain America’s Shield.
• Catchy color themes.

12. R2-D2

Item display

R2-D2 was a treat for people who love Star Wars. This little robot had such an important role in the series; saving Anakin and many others at moments. Now it’s in the game to save your butt.

What makes R2-D2 Great:

• Compact size covers less screen.
• Looks amazing with the skins from the Star Wars series.

11. Spectral Spine

This back bling has such a cold, evil vibe to it. The vibrant ribs on your back look sick with darker-shaded skins in the game. It also reminds me of the “Susanoo” wielded by members of the Uchiha clan, in Naruto.

What makes Spectral Spine Great:

• Resembles Susanoo from Naruto.
• Very vibrant outlook.

10. Wolfpack

Item display

Wolfpack is a thin, sharp katana resting in its case. Wielding this Katana on your back makes you look like a badass samurai.  

What makes Wolfpack Great:

• The placement of the katana on your back is very well done.
• Gives a satisfying samurai look.

• Could be obtained from the Season 6 Battle Pass.

9. Galactic Disc

I love the look of the Galactic disc. A peek into the galaxy, wrapped in a compact circle looks so pleasing to the eye.

What makes Galactic Disc Great:

• Beautiful design.
• Very compact.
• Covers less screen.

How to get it:

• It was a part of the Galaxy set and could be obtained by playing Fortnite on Samsung Galaxy 9.

8. Bonesy

Bonesy was the first pet back bling introduced into the game. The possibility of having a moving dog on your back was made a reality by Fortnite. This took the Fortnite community by storm as everyone roared its approval.

What makes Bonesy Great:

• Bonesy was the first pet back bling in Fortnite.
• The dog is very adorable.
• It has different animations.

• Could be obtained from the Season 6 Battle Pass.

7. Black Shield

Item display

Black shield, alongside the Royale shield we read about above, is the OG back bling everyone respects. This bad boy is even more famous than the Royale shield. This back bling was paired up with the red knight skin and a scarier combo could not be seen in the starting days of Fortnite.

 What makes Black Shield Great:

• It’s an OG back bling.
• It has a nice dragon design.

6. Shattered Wing

This back bling has memories of the butterfly event associated with it. It takes you back to the older days when the butterfly event took everyone by surprise with how amazing it was. It has a very vibrant outlook to it too.

What makes Shattered Wing Great:

• It is a memory-based back bling.
• The Shattered wing has a very beautiful design.
• It has a unique, butterfly shape.

5. Nucleus

This is the most visually-pleasing back bling among all in my opinion. Just one glance into this back bling will leave you mesmerized. I remember looking at it the first time and my jaw dropped to the ground.

What makes Nucleus Great:

• It has a unique, spherical shape.
• The Nucleus has a mesmerizing design.
• It has a panoramic view.

How to get it:

• Purchasable from the Item shop for 2000 V-Bucks with the Galaxy scout outfit.

4. Sapling Groot

Sapling Groot is such a cute pet to have on your back. This back bling would be the cutest in the game but it has the upcoming back blings as its competition. Baby Groot on your back will look adorable regardless.

What makes Sapling Groot Great:

• It’s a mini-Groot.
• Doesn’t cover much screen.
• Very lovable animation.

• Could be obtained from Sapling Groot Awakening Challenges

3. Crewmate

Item display

Not to be suspicious or anything but trust me, this back bling is definitely not the imposter among us. Among all the other back blings, this back bling would help you crouch through vents in Fortnite (Not really). Jokes aside though, this back bling looks clean on monochrome skins.

What makes Crewmate Great:

• It’s the most trustable back bling.
• The Crewmate looks sick on monochrome skins.

How to get it:

• Purchasable from the Item shop for 1500 V-Bucks.

2. The Child

The child is the most adorable back bling out of all. Just look at that baby Yoda, he looks so endearing. He floats in a little pod, called the “hovering pram” in the movie. He peeks outside to get some information about what’s going on outside the pod.

What makes The Child Great:

• It floats on your back.
• It will get you the most attention on battle Bus Island.
• This back bling wins the award of being the cutest out of all.

1. Merry Munchkin

Item display

Merry Munchkin is my favorite back bling and for very good reasons too. This back bling is a chained-up jar with wood attached to its back. It is where a very sassy, petty, and toxic gingerbread man sits. Merry munchkin has insane animations for certain actions. He dabs whenever you get an elimination, looks mad all the other time, shouts when you fall from the battle bus, and makes happy noises to motivate you. Overall, this back bling is an all-in-one.

What makes Merry Munchkin Great:

• It has a very sassy attitude that will make you chuckle.
• Merry munchkin dabs when you get an elimination.
• It has various animations.
• It looks intimidating to other players.
• Other players can interact with your back bling to make merry munchkin dab.

How to get it:

• Was obtained as a reward from the 14 Days Of Fortnite Challenges back in December 2018.
