In Genshin Impact, you can have lots of playstyles for different characters even if all of them use the same weapon.
Bow characters are one of the most underrated ones alongside catalyst, but today we will just talk about the first ones and why these 5 characters we chose are amazing. Let's start!
10. Aloy
Aloy is the heroine from “Horizon Zero Dawn”, a PS4 and Microsoft Windows game. She was introduced as a collaboration and crossover character between Guerrilla Games and miHoYo.
It was introduced between Versions 2.1-2.1 on PlayStation and Version 2.2 on all platforms. Now, you can obtain her when you reach Adventure Rank 20.
Even if she’s not a Genshin Impact original character and doesn’t have a quest, you can consider her to be part of your party. If you need a Cryo and bow user in your team and you don’t have any except her, she’s perfect!
- Aloy throws a Freeze Bomb in the targeted direction that explodes on impact, dealing Cryo DMG. After it explodes, it’ll split up into many Chillwater Bomblets that explode on contact with opponents or after a short delay, dealing Cryo DMG.
- Her Elemental Burst throws a Power Cell filled with Cryo in the targeted direction, then detonates it with an arrow, dealing AoE Cryo DMG.
- Also, when a Freeze Bomb or Chillwater Bomblet hits an opponent, the opponent's ATK is decreased.
9. Amber
Amber is the only remaining Outrider of the Knights of Favonius. She’s always ready to help people with her joyful and ambitious personality.
She can be obtained for free in the Prologue Act I: The Outlander Who Caught the Wind, during the quest Winds of the Past.
It is sometimes said that she’s useless, but today, we’re going to change your mind! There are indeed better Pyro characters in Genshin Impact but not everyone has them, so we’re going to show you the benefits Amber can bring to your team!
- When Amber casts her Elemental Skill the ever-reliable Baron Bunny takes the stage and continuously taunts the enemy.
- When destroyed or when its timer expires, Baron Bunny explodes, dealing AoE Pyro DMG.
- Her Elemental Burst fires off a shower of arrows, dealing continuous AoE Pyro DMG.
8. Fischl
Fischl von Luftschloss Narfidort is a playable Electro character. She’s an investigator for Mondstadt's Adventurers' Guild, accompanied by her raven Oz. She’s a daring adventurer with seemingly outlandish theories that happen to turn out to be true.
If you need an Electro bow character on your team, she can be perfect for you! She can be a DPS, sub DPS, support… Whatever you want!
- Her Elemental Skill summons Oz, the night raven forged of darkness and lightning descends upon the land, dealing Electro DMG in a small AoE. For the ability's duration, Oz will continuously attack nearby opponents.
- Fischl’s Elemental Burst makes her take on Oz's form, increasing her Movement Speed and strikes nearby opponents with lightning, dealing Electro DMG
- When her Elemental Burst ends and If Oz is already on the field, it’ll reset the duration of his presence.
7. Kujou Sara
Kujou Sara is the adopted daughter of the Kujou Clan of the Tenryou Commission. She’s loyal to her clan and the Shogun and she carries out her orders to the Shogun’s will.
Sara is also a tengu which is a kind of non-human creature of Inazuma. These characters are a kind of gods or paranormal creatures in Japanese folklore whose name is originally from a Chinese demon. Sometimes, they’re represented as demons or war heralds.
Even if you think Sara is a ruthless person because of tengu’s description, she’s just a loyal warrior who even defeated Arataki Itto once and seized his Visions as part of the decree.
- Sara’s Elemental Skill retreats rapidly with the speed of a tengu and when she fires a fully-charged Aimed Shot, will leave a Crowfeather at the target location.
- Her Elemental Burst casts down Tengu Juurai: Titanbreaker and deals AoE Electro DMG.
- Her Skill and Burst don’t stack ATK Bonus and their effects and duration will be determined by the last Tengu Juurai to take effect.
6. Gorou
Gorou is part of the Inazuman resistance against Raiden Shogun’s Vision Hunt Decree. He works alongside Sangonomiya Kokomi to defeat this injustice and we see him with Kazuha too at the end of Inazuma’s World Quest.
He’s an upcoming Geo bow character whose abilities bring support to your party members.
- Gorou’s Elemental Skill deals AoE Geo DMG and sets up a General’s War Banner. If you have 1 character in your party, this banner adds DEF Bonus; if you have 2 it increases resistance to interruption; and if you have 3, it adds Geo DMG Bonus.
- His Elemental Burst deals AoE Geo DMG and creates a field to embolden his comrades. It provides buffs based on the number of Geo characters in your party.
- And the most important thing about Gorou is his fluffy ears. He’s a good boy.
5. Yoimiya
Naganohara Ryuunosuke’s daughter and the current owner of Naganohara Fireworks, Yoimiya is beloved by everyone in Inazuma. With her fireworks and her outgoing personality, she’s here to make all of us fall in love with her.
She’s the only Pyro Bow character besides Amber and her kit can be described as something new but kind of boring, since her skills don't have anything special.
Also, to have more utility and make more DMG she needs to do Elemental Reactions with Hydro or Cryo support, so she can’t show all her potential on her own.
Even if she’s the last one, she’s still a really good Bow character:
- Her charged attack generates 3 Kindling Arrows at level 2 that will home in on nearby opponents.
- Her Elemental Skill converted her basic attacks to Blazing Arrows, increasing her DMG and dealing Pyro DMG.
- Her Elemental Burst deals AoE Pyro DMG, marks one opponent and if you hit them with any other character it will trigger an explosion, dealing more AoE Pyro DMG.
4. Diona
She’s a bartender at Cat’s Tail and wants to ruin Mondstat’s wine industry. Does it make sense? Not at all, but her kit doesn’t either.
Diona is a really great support even if you can use her as DPS. It always depends on how you build her, but you can get a really good balance between her heal and her shield making her a perfect support.
How can she contribute in a good way to my team? Easy to answer:
- Diona can shield you with her Elemental Skill and deals Cryo DMG to the enemy with Icy Paws. If you hold the skill, the shield will gain a 75% Absorption Bonus.
- Diona’s Elemental Burst deals continuously AoE Cryo DMG and heals the character you’re using at the moment. This AoE Cryo DMG simplifies using Frozen, one of the best Elemental Reactions.
- While using Diona’s shield your stamina consumption decreased by 10%.
- The enemies that enter the Elemental Burst’s Area have a 10% decreased attack, making them more vulnerable and easy to defeat.
3. Tartaglia
Following danger wherever he goes, Tartaglia (or Childe) is always ready for a challenge and to freeze our hearts like a real Snezhnaya’s citizen. He’s also the Eleventh of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers, alongside other Harbingers like Signora or Scaramouche.
Tartaglia is a good Hydro Character in general, but even if he shines for his melee Elemental Skill, he’s still a good Bow character. Here you have some amazing things he can do in his ranged stance:
- His charged attacks deal the Riptide status, a kind of mark that deals AoE Hydro DMG when they’re being attacked by Tartaglia.
- When you defeat an opponent affected by Riptide, it creates a Hydro burst that inflicts Riptide to nearby opponents.
- Tartaglia’s Elemental Burst deals AoE Hydro DMG and applies Riptide. This is helpful to freeze enemies with a Cryo shield or vaporize with a Pyro shield, dealing even more DMG.
- Using his Elemental Burst returns a portion of its Energy Cost.
2. Venti
As everyone knows, this wine-loving bard is the current mortal vessel of Barbatos, the Anemo Archon. Venti is carefree, playful, and joyful like a kid but he is indeed a thousand years old.
Even if his looks made you fall in love with him, you have to know what kind of utility can bring to your party and what this old bard can do:
- His Elemental Skill summons a Wind Domain at the enemies’ location, dealing AoE Anemo DMG and launching them in the air.
- When you hold his Elemental Skill, Venti rides the wind into the air. This makes it easier to get to things that are too high or to do a plunging attack while the enemies are in the air.
- Venti’s Elemental Burst creates a huge Stormeye that sucks in enemies and deals Anemo DMG. This is very helpful for Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro characters because when they come into contact with Venti’s Stormeye, it will deal elemental DMG of that type.
- When there are plenty of enemies, Venti’s Elemental Burst is perfect to suck in all of them and use another Elemental Burst, like Ayaka’s or Zhongli’s Elemental Burst, to defeat them fast. This is really helpful in places like Spiral Abyss or some Events.
1. Ganyu
And we are finally at Top 1! It couldn’t be other than our favorite half-adepti, the one that serves as emissary and secretary of the Liyue Qixin (Seven Stars of Liyue).
Even if her father was human and her mother was an adepti, Ganyu isn’t an adepti or human, she’s something more special than that. Like Xiao once said, “Ganyu is Ganyu”. And he couldn’t be more right.
- Her charged attacks deal Cryo DMG, but at level 2 she fires off a Frostflake Arrow that blooms after hitting an enemy, dealing AoE Cryo DMG.
- Her DMG escalates really well, turning her into one of the best DPS of the game even if she’s a Bow carrier. I mean, she can one-shot Timmy’s birds, that’s pretty impressive.
- Ganyu’s Elemental Skill leaves an Ice Lotus behind dealing AoE Cryo DMG. When she uses it, she dashes backward.
- Her Elemental Burst summons a Sacred Cryo Pearl that will continuously rain down shards of ice dealing AoE Cryo DMG.
- She can be a really good DPS, but her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst turn her into an amazing support too. These abilities deal AoE Cryo DMG simplifying the use of Elemental Reactions with other characters, like Frozen or Melt.
We hope this Top helped you to decide for which Bow character spend your Primogems. This is just a tier list based on stats and their utility in the game, but that’s not everything in Genshin Impact. Remember that the most important thing to pull for a character is that you find it fun to play!
It doesn’t matter if their attack is not the best of the game, if you like their ability’s kit or their design, go! Spend those Primogems!
