Kaeya is the Cavalry Captain of the Knights of Favonius. The first time you meet him is in the Prologue, Act I: The Outlander Who Caught the Wind.
He’s sarcastic but kind, two characteristics that charmed us the first time we saw him. Kaeya is also eccentric and full of secrets, but we also love that about him. His adoptive brother is Diluc and they have a complicated relationship, let’s call it that.
Even if you think he just can be built with Cryo DMG because he’s a Cryo character, you’re wrong! Kaeya is a really flexible character when we talk about builds, so let us show you some examples that we think are the best for him!
3. Pale Flame
Pale Flame is an Artifact Set available at 4-star and 5-star rarities which can be obtained from Ridge Watch. Its 2-Piece Bonus increased Physical DMG by 25% and its 4-Piece Bonus increased ATK and when it stacks, Physical DMG increased by 100%.
Reasons to use this set:
- Even if Kaeya is a Cryo character, he can be built as a DPS because of his Physical DMG. He has a lot! And you can always get that Cryo DMG in the Goblet’s set
- You can see Kaeya as a f2p Eula since both of them are Cryo characters but deal Physical DMG. Eula is built with this set too even if she deals Cryo DMG, but we suggest you use Kaeya as a Physical DPS and use another character for Cryo.
- This set just focuess on Kaeya’s Physical DMG, so keep in mind that you have to use other characters that use their elementals to deal elemental DMG.
- Since it just focuses on his Physical DMG it really doesn’t mind elemental reactions, but we recommend still using characters that have good combos with Cryo! Kaeya can still use his Skill and Burst.
- Aquila Favonia is the perfect weapon for this build. It’s a 5-star sword that can be obtained from wishes and has Physical DMG as its second stat and increases ATK by 20-40%.
Build details:
- Flower: HP
- Plume: Flat ATK
- Sand: ATK%
- Goblet: Physical DMG Bonus
- Circlet: ATK%/Crit DMG/ Crit Rate
Best team for this set:
- Kaeya, Xinyan, Zhongli, and Xinqiu
Reason why:
Kaeya deals Physical DMG but Xinyan and Xinqiu still support him doing Elemental Reactions with his Skill and Burst. Also, these characters deal DMG too. Zhongli shields them and decreases enemies’ DEF.
2. Shimenawa’s Reminiscence and Bloodstained Chivalry
Shimenawa’s Reminiscence is an Artifact Set available at 4-star and 5-star rarities which can be obtained from Momiji-Dyed Court in Inazuma. The 2-Piece Bonus of Shimenawa’s Reminiscence increases your attack by 18%.
Bloodstained Chivalry is available at 4-star and 5-star rarities and can be obtained from Clear Pool and Mountain Cavern. The 2-Piece Bonus increases Physical DMG by 25%.
Now that we learned a little bit about these sets, let’s talk about the fun part!
Reasons to use this set:
- Even if Kaeya is a Cryo character, he can be built as a DPS because of his Physical DMG. He has a lot! And you can always get that Cryo DMG in the Goblet’s set.
- These two artifacts combined will increase Kaeya’s DMG a lot. Gladiator’s Finale has the same 2-Piece Bonus as Shimenawa’s Reminiscence, but we prefer this one because it can be farmed, while Gladiator’s Finale is only available from Bosses.
- The best part about this set is that you can deal Physical DMG and elemental DMG because it focuses on those two!
- Even if Kaeya can be a really good DPS and deal all the DMG we recommend using more characters to do Elemental Reactions with Cryo!
- The perfect weapon for this build is Aquila Favonia, a 5-star sword that can be obtained from wishes. This weapon has Physical DMG as its second stat and increases ATK by 20-40%.
Build details:
- Flower: HP
- Plume: Flat ATK
- Sand: ATK%
- Goblet: Cryo DMG Bonus
- Circlet: Crit DMG/ Crit Rate
Best team for this set:
- Kaeya, Hu Tao, Xinqiu, and Zhongli
Reason why:
Kaeya deals Physical and Cryo DMG but Hu Tao deals Pyro DMG too and do elemental reactions. Xinqiu supports him doing Elemental Reactions with his Skill and Burst. Also, these characters deal DMG too. Zhongli shields them and decreases enemies’ DEF.
1. Blizzard Strayer and Noblesse Oblige
Blizzard Strayer (or Icebreaker) is an Artifact Set available at 4-star and 5-star rarities which can be obtained from Peak of Vindagnyr. The 2-Piece Bonus of this set increases Cryo DMG by 15%.
Noblesse Oblige is an Artifact Set available at 4-star and 5-star rarities and can be obtained from Clear Pool and Mountain Cavern. Its 2-Piece Bonus increases Elemental Burst DMG by 20%.
Reasons to use this set:
- If you still want to build Kaeya with Cryo DMG we don’t blame you, we think it's the best way too. With these two sets together Kaeya’s Elemental Skill and Burst will deal a lot of Cryo DMG.
- This build is indicated for an elemental support Kaeya. “What does it mean?”. It means that Kaeya will just deal elemental DMG to your team while you deal DMG with another character.
- This set is perfect for those who love Kaeya but don’t know if use him as a support or as a DPS. You can deal DMG with his Skill and Burst with this one!
- We recommend using another DPS with this set because Kaeya won’t do a lot of DMG with his normal attacks since they don’t deal Cryo DMG.
- Iron Sting is the best weapon for him. Its second stat is Elemental Mastery and increases Elemental DMC by 6% every 1s. When you build a character as your elemental support the most important things are Energy Recharge and EM.
Build details:
- Flower: HP
- Plume: Flat ATK
- Sand: ER/ATK%
- Goblet: Cryo DMG Bonus
- Circlet: Crit DMG/ Crit Rate
Best team for this set:
- Kaeya, Chongyun, Xinqiu, and Diona
Reason why:
This team focuses on Permafrost. Kaeya, Chongyun and Diona deal Cryo DMG and Xingqiu deals Hydro DMG so enemies’ freeze! Also, Diona shields and heals her teammates.
