[Top 3] Minecraft Bedrock Best Levels for Iron

Iron is probably the most essential material in Minecraft, you basically can’t do anything without it. From crafting the necessary tools to mine and survive, to crafting fun decorations and other resources like chains and lanterns, iron is essential to every player. Finding iron is one of the first goals any player should have in the early game. Progressing without a decent quantity of iron for all your crafting needs is nearly impossible. Luckily iron can be found far and wide, however, there are some levels that are simply just better to mine on. 

3. Y level -8

If you’re chasing those ore veins for absolutely massive quantities of iron in one place, Y= -8, and below are where you will find what you are looking for. Iron veins spawn starting at Y= -8 and spawn at Y levels below all the way down to Y= -58, enabling you to find huge amounts of iron and blocks of raw iron. Ore veins are perfect for a one-stop shop to find an abundance of iron in one concentrated area. All you have to do is look out for iron surrounded by tuff blocks or spot any raw iron blocks, and you’ve likely stumbled on a vein.

Why Y= -8 (and below) is good for iron:

• Finding one vein can have you flushed with possibly hundreds of iron ores

2. Y Level 255

If you’re looking for iron high up in the mountains of your Minecraft world, the higher you go the more luck you will have to spot an abundance of iron. Iron spawning abundance peaks high up on those rocky mountains at Y=255. If you find yourself searching above ground, Y=255 is your best bet. 

Why Y= 255 is good for iron:

• Above-ground access makes iron easier to search for, especially in the early game

1. Y Level 16

There is no better level for underground iron mining than Y=16. This level is at the center of the iron distribution concentration, making it the place where iron is most abundant. There are two underground iron distributions that intersect, and this level is the middle of them both, meeting to make the highest distribution level. For efficient strip-type mines without needing to go through the trouble of searching for a vein, Y= 16 is the place to go.

• Highly efficient and organized way to find iron in a mine
