Fun fact: The reason that every Zelda is always named Zelda in the games can  be found in the instruction booklet for Zelda II. The Adventure of Link. It establishes that Zelda’s name reoccurs because the prince of the kingdom orders that every female child born into the royal household shall be given the name Zelda.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity features a distinctive art style. Complimenting the visual aesthetics of “Breath of the Wild”. With the characters and environments maintaining the cel-shaded look of the source material.

You are shipwrecked on the mysterious Koholint island. The island is home to various dungeons, characters, and secrets. The only way to leave the island is to awaken the Wind Fish. Who is a deity sleeping inside an egg on top of the island’s tallest mountain. 

Solve puzzles, battle enemies, and acquire items that help you progress. Overcome the dungeons and collect the necessary instruments you will need. Uncovering the mysteries and working towards waking up the Wind Fish.  

It was influenced by the game “Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru,” known as “The Frog For Whom the Bell Tolls.” In English. This is another Nintendo title that was released, however, it was only released in Japan.

Before Hyrule is lost to Calamity Ganon. You must take back the Divine Beasts from Ganon's allies, using them to weaken him as you use the Master Sword to defeat him. Putting rest to the beast and saving the land. 

It was the first game in the Legend of Zelda series to feature a fully open-world design. Allowing players to explore Hyrule with almost no restrictions. It also introduces dynamic weather and a day-night cycle that affects gameplay.

5. The Legend Of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes (Nintendo 3DS)

Set in the kingdom of Hytopia. The fashion-obsessed Princess Styla falls victim to a curse, turning her into an ugly monster. The kingdom seeks a hero who can break the curse, and three Links from different regions appear to answer their pleas for help. 

The three heroes embark on a journey to gather the materials they need to craft special outfits. Which grants them unique abilities, setting out to solve puzzles and enemies in the Drablands. With the shared goal to save Princess Styla. 

In the game, there is an outfit which is called the “Cheetah Costume”. It enhances the speed of the player’s character. When wearing the costume, Link is able to run faster than usual. When playing multiplayer if all three Links wear the costume and perform the totem stack. They can create a super speedy totem pole that zooms across the screen.

6. Hyrule Warriors (Nintendo Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Switch)

Players control various characters throughout the game called warriors. Beginning with Link before unlocking characters like Princess Zelda, Impa, Lana,  etc. They unlock these characters through story as well as Adventure Mode progression. 

The goal depends on the mode chosen. In Legend mode, the game’s main story mode, it is divided into eighteen chapters called “scenarios.” Adventure Mode is an alternative, taking the form of a grid in the shape of the overworld from the original Legend of Zelda. 

One of the aspects of the game is the collaboration of characters from various Legend of Zelda games. Bringing together heroes and villains alike from different ti melines. It allows players to control and experience the combat styles of different iconic characters all within a single game. 

The various characters from Hyrule Warriors team up behind Link ready to battle hordes of enemies.

7. The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (Nintendo 3DS)

Link sets out to restore peace in the kingdom of Hyrule. Tracking down the evil sorcerer Yuga who has captured Princess Zelda. Escaping through a rift into the parallel world of Lorule. Yuga desires to kidnap the Seven Sages and use their power to resurrect the demon king Ganon. 

Link must rescue Princess Zelda and stop Yuga’s ambitions. As his actions threaten the stability of both Hyrule and Lorule. Confronting Yuga who has the power to turn people into paintings. 

It is set in the same world as “The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past”. Except this time players get to explore an updated version of the familiar Hyrule but with new additions and changes. It’s a nostalgia trip for fans of the earlier game.

8. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Nintendo Wii, Nintendo Switch)

Set on the floating island of Skyloft, which is a realm above the clouds, Link is on a quest to rescue Zelda. He has discovered that she has been taken to the surface by a strange tornado. 

Link must unravel the mysteries that surround the surface world. Discovering a land of dangerous creatures and ancient ruins. While also making a powerful enough weapon to defeat Demise. Collecting sacred flame to enhance the Goddess Sword which eventually becomes the Master Sword. 

The development team incorporated an Easter Egg into the game. Relating to a well-known Nintendo character, in Link’s hometown ‘Skyloft’ a character named Beedle runs an airshop. Beedle is a recurring character in the series known for his distinctive “Thaaaank you!” catchphrase. This is inspired by Tingle, another character from the series who is recognizable for his green outfit, red balloon, and unique mannerisms.

Link is a trainee engineer in the land of New Hyrule. Where Princess Zelda serves as a guide for Link possessing a Phantom. Which is a powerful guardian, to aid Link. Focusing on preventing the evil chancellor Cole from using an ancient demon king named Malladus to gain ultimate power. 

To thwart the plans of Cole, Link must restore the Spirit Tracks. Serving as a vital means to connect the different regions in the game world. They allow Link to travel freely between locations as he explores various dungeons along his way. 

In the game, players can use the Nintendo DS’s microphone to play the musical instrument known as the Spirit Flute by blowing into it. This interaction adds a unique element to the game. Allowing the player to physically engage in certain parts.

10. The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (Nintendo DS)

Link and Tetra explore a series of islands in search of a new land. Beginning with the two discovering a ghost ship in the waters near their home on Tetra’s ship. Tetra ends up getting captured by this ship, with Link attempting to rescue her but ultimately getting drawn onto the ship as well. 

Finding himself in an uncharted world, he sets out on an investigation of the ship and its eerie halls. Collecting fragments of the Phantom Hourglass to extend their exploration time within it. Each island that he explores has its  unique challenges. Gathering items to progress in his quest.  

If the player draws a specific symbol or notes on the ship’s map with the stylus for the DS, they can trigger different responses from the character Linebeck. Drawing a rupee can make Linebeck exclaim about the potential for treasure, or drawing a heart can prompt him to speak about courage.
