Do you want to use an assault rifle but aren’t sure which one to bring with you? Well, that all depends on what you like and on which map you’re playing. If you’re playing on a map that has a lot of close quarters, you should go with an SMG or an assault rifle that’s good in CQB.
But don’t worry; today I’ll be showing you and ranking all of the assault rifles for you. From the worst ones to the best ones. Each assault rifle is good in its category, but some are better than others. So with that, let’s get into this article!
10. SR-16
Even though it’s a lightweight assault rifle, it is pretty damn long. Which can get tricky to use in close combat. You might even want to switch to your pistol when entering a room or house so you can maneuver more easily. The gun does have a strong stopping power, but the recoil is a bit high, even with some attachments.
What SR-16 Excels In:
- Impressive muzzle velocity.
- It is excellent in long-distance combat, but in close quarters, it can be a bit hard to use.
- Strong stopping power.
How To Get SR-16:
- You can obtain it when you go into the locker room.
9. SA58
If you want to drop someone with two shots to the chest when using AP rounds, then this is the assault rifle to go for. You can attach various modifications to the gun, and it’s amazing in long-distance combat. One great thing about the assault rifle is that it’s excellent when used in semi-automatic mode, while in fully automatic it can be hard to control.
What SA-58 Excels In:
- Dropping suspects in 1 to 2 shots when using AP rounds.
- Great at long-distance combat.
- Great to use in semi-automatic mode.
How To Get SA-58:
- You can obtain this assault rifle in the locker room
8. MK16
If you want something that looks like an SMG and has a high rate of fire, go for the MK 16. It’s the little brother of the MK 17, with less stopping power. It uses the standard 5.56x45 rounds; it has a higher recoil due to the high rate of fire but a smaller stopping power due to its size. It’s also known as the SCAR L.
What MK16 Excels At:
- It has a high rate of fire.
- It uses 5.56x45 rounds, which can penetrate through some walls.
- It has a smaller kick to it.
How To Get MK16:
- You can obtain this assault rifle when you go into the locker room.
7. SLR47
If you want to use an AK in this game, then you’ll have to settle for the SLR47. It’s probably the closest we will ever get to an AK in this game unless we use mods. It’s quite a short assault rifle, and it’s great in close combat.
The only issue with this weapon is that it has a huge kick to it, and the recoil is bad. Because the gun uses a 7.62x39mm round, your arms will be flying off your body if you decide to shoot it fully automatic, so beware. It’s not recommended for new players at all.
What SLR47 Excels In:
- Great stopping power; can drop someone in 2-3 shots.
- Smaller in size, which is great for close quarters.
- Uses a larger round, which is 7.62x39mm.
- It’s the closest we will have to an AK in this game.
How To Get SLR47:
- You can obtain this assault rifle when you enter the locker room and choose it under the assault rifle category.
6. MK18
If we want to talk about carbines, we should talk about the MK18. There was an M4A1 in the game, but they removed it and replaced it with this one. It’s essentially the same gun in stats, but it has a different name and looks a bit different. It’s flashy, it has a great design, and you need to put in some recoil grips to control the recoil.
What MK18 Excels In:
- It’s a flashy gun with a sleek design.
- It’s the closest we will have to an actual M4.
- The recoil can be lowered with attachments.
How To Get MK18:
- You can obtain it from the locker room under the assault rifle category.
5. GA416
If you’re not sure what weapon to go for or what map you’ll be playing on, just go for the GA416 or the HK416. I’m not sure why they didn’t give it its original name, but it’s probably due to some licensing issues. When it comes to the GA416, it’s a safe and reliable choice. It might have a bit of kick to it when shooting it, but you can negate that with some attachments.
What GA416 Excels In:
- A reliable and safe choice for an assault rifle.
- Doesn’t have a lot of recoil.
- You can remove the kick of the weapon with attachments to make it easier to use.
How To Get GA416:
- You can obtain it when you go into the locker room and look under the assault rifles category.
4. MK1 Carbine
Sadly, if you want to use this weapon, you’ll have to buy the Supporter Edition, which is 71 euros right now. It is quite expensive and only worth it if you want to further support the developers.
One cool thing about this assault rifle is that it’s the staple of the FBI HRT, so if you want to roleplay as them, it’s neat. It also doesn't have a lot of recoil, and the kick of the weapon ain’t that bad.
What MK1 Carbine Excels In:
- Long-distance engagements.
- Doesn’t have a lot of kick to it.
- The recoil is controllable without attachments.
How To Get MK1 Carbine:
- You can obtain it when you purchase the Supporter Edition from Steam which is 71 euros.
3. ARWC
If you’re not sure which gun is best suited for close quarters, just go with the ARWC because you can’t go wrong with this one. The gun features a smaller barrel because it was made with close-quarters combat in mind.
It has a sleek design, not a lot of recoil, and it uses 5.56x45mm rounds, which have some decent penetration. Although it won’t drop someone in one shot, it’s still decent enough for an assault rifle.
What ARWC Excels In:
- The gun has a shorter barrel for CQB situations.
- It has a sleek design.
- The gun has decent penetration.
How To Get ARWC:
- You can obtain this weapon in the locker room under the assault rifle category.
2. G36C
If you want something for close quarters, there is no better alternative than the G36C. This gun is made for this. It has been modeled after its original weapon, the G36, but it doesn’t support the iconic top rail, which is sad. That’s the coolest part of the weapon.
The reason it doesn’t have the iconic top rail is for easier use and so that it doesn’t obstruct the player's vision. It has a low recoil, is stable to use, and uses the standard 5.56x45mm rounds. It’s a great weapon overall for beginners.
What G36C Excels In:
- Low recoil.
- Great stability.
- Great for players who just started the game.
- Great for close-quarters combat situations.
How To Get G36C:
- You can obtain this assault rifle when you go into the locker room and go under the assault rifle category.
1. ARN-18
Probably one of the best weapons in the whole game is right here. It’s great at long ranges, and because it’s the size of an SMG, it can be great at close quarters. A lot of people will go for this weapon as the recoil is controllable and it can blast a hole through a wall due to it using a .300 blackout round.
The capacity of the magazine is 30 rounds, which is the standard for an assault rifle. This weapon is also great for stealth missions and goes unnoticed when using a suppressor. You don’t have to use it fully automatic at all, as one or two rounds are enough to drop someone with armor.
What ARN-18 Excels In:
- When you need to be quiet and go on stealth missions.
- Great for long ranges-and close-quarters combat situations.
- Supports .300 Blackout rounds, which can drop an enemy down in one round.
How To Get ARN-18:
- You can obtain this assault rifle when you go into the locker room and equip it under the assault file category.
