Terraria veterans will often tell you that Golem is a joke. Compared to Plantera, this boss only does a few attacks, with most of them cancellable by hitting his hands. Although it might be a pushover to some, there are still some Terraria players out there that have a hard time against this boss. If you're one of those players, here are our top 5 Terraria best weapons against Golem.
5. Tactical Shotgun
The Tactical Shotgun is a beast against large, slow-moving enemies, such as the Golem. This shotgun auto-fires 6 pellets per bullet spent, making it very cost-effective for longer fights. With Chlorophyte and Crystal bullets, this shotgun is turned into a Golem-shredding machine.
What makes the Tactical Shotgun awesome:
- Fires a 6 for 1 shot dealing the weapons base damage with each pellet
- Extremely lethal when all 6 pellets hit the target (Chlorophyte bullets make sure of this)
Weapon stats:
- Damage - 29 (Ranged)
- Knockback - 7 (Strong)
- Use time - 34 (Slow)
- Velocity - 6

4. Pulse Bow
The Pulse Bow is the Traveling Merchant's weapon of choice in hardmode. This bow has the highest base damage stat among all bows in the game but is severely hindered by its rate of fire. Although it fires very slowly compared to other bows, any arrow fired from this bow is changed into a pulse laser which can pierce and bounce all over the place.
What makes the Pulse Bow awesome:
- The bow only takes the arrows' damage into account. Any special effect it has is automatically lost
- Works extremely well with Venom arrows for its high base damage
Weapon Stats:
- Damage - 85 (Ranged)
- Knockback - 3 (Very weak)
- Crit Chance - 11%
- Use Speed - 20 (Very fast)
- Velocity - 23.25 (Not affected by ammo)

3. Resonance Scepter
Among the post-Plantera magic weapons, the Resonance Scepter is quite easy to obtain. This weapon summons resonating waves at the cursor and is capable of continuously dealing damage until the circle dissipates. This makes it a great weapon for slow-moving targets, such as the Golem.
What makes the Resonance Scepter awesome:
- Extremely deadly against slow and stationary enemies
- Can be obtained right after Plantera is killed
Weapon stats:
- Damage - 70 (Magic)
- Knockback - 5 (Average)
- Mana - 18
- Critical chance - 4%
- Use time - 25 (Fast)
- Velocity - 10

2. Terraprisma
The Terraprisma is renowned to be an excellent weapon against fast foes. In this case, it's even deadlier against enemies who can barely move. The summoned swords from the Terraprisma allow each of the minions to 'stun-lock' the Golem's arms, completely disabling them. The only thing left to do is to keep dodging and wait for its inevitable demise. The only reason why it's not first in this list is because of its difficulty to obtain.
What makes the Terraprisma awesome:
- Fast-flying swords + slow statue = PROFIT!
Weapon stats:
- Damage - 90 (Summon)
- Knockback - 4 (Weak)
- Mana - 10
- Use Speed - 36 (Average)
- Velocity - 10

1. Scourge of the Corruptor
This weapon can be obtained by opening Corruption Chests in a post-Plantera dungeon. Although classified as a melee weapon, the javelin shoots out a projectile that splits into Tiny Eaters that seek the nearest enemy. If this wasn't enough, the projectile bounces off of walls, making it awesome for closed-area battles, much like Golem's boss room.
What makes the Scourge of the Corruptorawesome:
- Has the highest DPS in ranged damage at this point in the game
- Ammo switching makes this gun very versatile
Weapon stats:
- Damage - 25 (Ranged)
- Knockback - 1 (Extremely weak)
- Critical chance - 4%
- Use Speed - 7 (Insanely fast)
- Velocity - 10
- 50% chance of not consuming ammo
