Solis is easily one of the most futurist operators in Siege, and her very high-tech special gadget, the SPEC-IO Electro Sensor, is a great intel gathering utility that can detect the real time positions of enemy electronic gadgets. Because of that, not only is she very effective at gathering intel, she also excels at disabling their utilities.
Though there’s no change in how her SPEC-IO Electro Sensor works, the Year 9 Season 1 update that brought a lot of huge changes to the game have affected operator weapons and attachments, and Solis is not an exception. That’s why in this article, we’re going to tackle how these changes have affected choices of players when it comes to her loadout setups and which ones will bring the best results when playing her.
5. P90 with Red Dot A and Compensator + SMG-11 with Red Dot A, Flash Hider, and Vertical Grip + Bulletproof Camera
The recoil diamonds of the P90’s first three shots are small and narrow so there’s not much horizontal recoil on them, however, starting from the fourth shot, its recoil diamonds become bigger, and that means more horizontal and random recoil from all directions. The good thing is, there’s an attachment that can remedy that, and that’s the very underrated compensator. It’s actually been buffed a few seasons ago, and now its effect is even more powerful, and that is reducing the size of weapons’ recoil diamonds.
That means with the compensator on the P90 submachine gun, its horizontal and random recoil from all directions will be really low, and the user will mostly only have to worry about holding down its vertical recoil which is generally easier to do. As for her generic gadget, the bulletproof camera is an excellent utility for gathering intel as it can provide a wide view of an area. It also has a thermal sight which will allow the user to see enemies behind smoke grenades. The bulletproof camera can also shoot EMP bursts that can temporarily disable enemy electronic gadgets.
Excels in:
- The compensator on Solis’ P90 submachine gun will greatly lower its tendency for horizontal and random recoil from all directions, and that will make it more stable even during long sprays
- The red dot A 1.0x sight on Solis’ P90 submachine gun will provide her with good accuracy when it comes to close to medium range engagements due to its center dot reticle and large reticle area
- Having a secondary weapon that is fully-automatic in the SMG-11 machine pistol which will allow Solis to stay in the fight when her P90 submachine gun needs to be reloaded in the middle of combat
- The SMG-11 machine pistol has a very fast rate of fire but the drawback is that it produces a really strong recoil, and that’s why the flash hider and vertical grip are both present in this setup. With both of them, the SMG-11's recoil will be more manageable.
- Providing the whole defending team with another camera that offers a wide view of the surroundings. The bulletproof camera when used by Solis will also be able to shoot EMP bursts that can disable enemy electronics
Build Details:
- Primary weapon - P90 with Red Dot A and Compensator
- Secondary weapon - SMG-11 with Red Dot A, Flash Hider, and Vertical Grip
- Generic gadget - Bulletproof Camera
Recoil pattern test on the P90 in this setup with the author’s own recoil control applied:
4. P90 with Red Dot A and Flash Hider + SMG-11 with Red Dot A, Flash Hider, Vertical Grip, and Laser + Impact Grenade
Having good recoil control directly translates to having good accuracy, because no matter how good your aim is, if the recoil of your weapon is rough, it’ll definitely negatively affect your aim. And for Solis players looking to have the best recoil control on her P90 submachine gun, this is the loadout setup to run with. That’s because the flash hider on its barrel will greatly lower its overall vertical recoil, making it much easier for the Solis to handle the P90’s weapon kick.
As for the secondary weapon, the SMG-11 machine pistol, its very fast rate of fire is both its strength and its weakness. That’s because that very fast rate of fire also produces a very strong recoil on the weapon. The good thing is, you can equip it with a flash hider and vertical grip, and since both of them specializes in lowering the vertical recoil of weapons, the SMG-11's weapon kick will be more manageable. The laser on the other hand will allow Solis to go into aim-down-sight stance 10% faster than normal with the SMG-11 which is great for sudden enemy engagements.
Excels in:
- The flash hider on Solis’ P90 submachine gun will allow her to have great recoil control on the weapon as it specializes in lowering the overall vertical recoil of weapons
- The red dot A 1.0x sight on Solis’ P90 submachine gun will give her good accuracy at close to medium range due to its large reticle area which usually captures the whole target’s body, as well as its center dot reticle.
- Maintaining a good amount of recoil control on the SMG-11 machine pistol through the use of both the flash hider and vertical grip attachments that specializes in lowering the vertical recoil of weapons
- The laser on the SMG-11 machine pistol will allow Solis to go into aim-down-sight stance 10% quicker than normal which is very handy when it comes to switching from primary to secondary weapon
- The two impact grenades in Solis’ arsenal will allow her to quickly create rotation holes which are very important in defending bomb sites. They’re also great counters for shield operators, especially operator Osa.

- Primary weapon - P90 with Red Dot A and Flash Hider
- Secondary weapon - SMG-11 with Red Dot A, Flash Hider, Vertical Grip, and Laser
- Generic gadget - Impact Grenade
Recoil pattern test on the P90 in this setup with the author’s own recoil control applied:
3. P90 with Red Dot A, Extended Barrel, and Laser + SMG-11 with Red Dot A, Flash Hider, and Vertical Grip + Impact Grenade
The biggest weakness of the P90 submachine gun is that its firepower is pretty weak. It’s among the weapons in Siege with the lowest amount of damage per shot. That’s why many players equip it with an extended barrel. The extended barrel increases the base damage of weapons on top of its previous attribute of reducing their range damage drop-off. With the extended barrel, the damage from the P90 will become 24 from 22. While that may not seem like a lot on paper, remember that the P90 has a very fast rate of fire and huge magazine capacity.
That means that the increase in firepower from the extended barrel will have a cumulative effect aided by the weapon’s huge magazine capacity and rapid rate of fire. What’s great about the P90 is that its stock recoil is manageable even though its rate of fire is very fast which also makes it a good weapon for medium to long range shooting. And at those distances, this weapon will still hurt because of the extended barrel reducing its range damage drop-off. This loadout setup is an all-out offense one and is great for players with an aggressive playstyle.
Excels in:
- The extended barrel will increase the P90’s damage per shot from 22 to 24 and even though that may not seem like a lot, it will definitely hurt opponents more since the P90 has a very fast rate of fire and huge magazine capacity
- The extended barrel on Solis’ P90 submachine gun will also greatly reduce its range damage drop-off, making its shots hurt even at medium to long range
- The laser on the P90 submachine gun will allow Solis to go into aim-down-sight stance 10% faster than normal which is great for sudden enemy encounters, and that’s great for players with an aggressive playstyle
- The SMG-11 machine pistol will be a great secondary weapon for Solis because it’ll provide him with another rapid firing fully-automatic weapon when her P90 submachine gun needs to be reloaded in the middle of combat
- The impact grenade as Solis’ secondary gadget will allow her to rework the map to her team’s advantage. It can be used to create rotation holes as well as destroy soft hatches which are great for outmaneuvering enemies.
Build Details:
- Primary weapon - P90 with Red Dot A, Extended Barrel, and Laser
- Secondary weapon - SMG-11 with Red Dot A, Flash Hider, and Vertical Grip
- Generic gadget - Impact Grenade
Recoil pattern test on the P90 in this setup with the author’s own recoil control applied:
2. P90 with Red Dot A and Suppressor + SMG-11 with Red Dot A, Flash Hider, Vertical Grip, and Laser + Impact Grenade
Solis specializes in intel gathering. As mentioned before, she can know the live position of enemy electronic gadgets through her special gadget. The thing is, some of those gadgets stay in the person of their owners, so there are times that Solis can also detect the real-time position of enemies. That means that there are times that she can wall bang them or hit them from angles that they’re not expecting. And when it comes to that, shooting with a weapon equipped with a suppressor is the best.
That’s because the suppressor will hide the weapon’s directional threat indicator, even its muzzle flash. It’ll also greatly muffle the weapon’s gunshot sounds, so when shot at medium to long range, it can be hard for enemies to know where the shots are coming from. So when Solis is wall banging opponents with the P90 in this loadout setup, chances are, they won’t know exactly where the shots are coming from, and that would prevent them from effectively counter firing and getting lucky by scoring a headshot on Solis.
Excels in:
- The suppressor removing the directional threat indicator from the P90 submachine gun’s shots as well as the weapon’s muzzle flash will make it harder for enemies to know where Solis is shooting from
- It’ll also be harder for enemies to determine Solis’ location through the sound of her gunshots since the suppressor on the P90 submachine gun will greatly muffle its gunshot sounds
- Having a good aim on Solis’ P90 submachine gun due to the red dot A’s huge reticle area as well as its center dot reticle which doesn’t obstruct the player’s view of their opponent’s body parts
- The flash hider and the vertical grip will work hand in hand in reducing the vertical recoil of the SMG-11 machine pistol, while the laser will provide Solis with a 10% aim-down-sight speed boost
- The impact grenade will allow Solis to easily create rotation holes which is great for defending the bomb site as well as performing run outs which Solis specializes in
Build Details:
- Primary weapon - P90 with Red Dot A and Suppressor
- Secondary weapon - SMG-11 with Red Dot A, Flash Hider, Vertical Grip, and Laser
- Generic gadget - Impact Grenade
Recoil pattern test on the P90 in this setup with the author’s own recoil control applied:
1. ITA12L with Reflex B + SMG-11 with Red Dot A, Flash Hider, and Vertical Grip + Bulletproof Camera
This is the best loadout setup for Solis because it’s the most balanced. With this, Solis will have superiority during close range encounters, and she would still have the capability of fragging enemies at medium to long-range. That’s because for her primary weapon, she’ll be running with the ITA12L non-slug shotgun which will obviously be very deadly at close range. It’s capable of downing an opponent with one shot at its optimal range, especially when all of its pellets hit the opponent’s body.
Since the iron sight of the ITA12L eats up a lot of screen space, the reflex B is what I recommend for this setup. It’ll provide Solis with a clear view when aiming-down-sight with her ITA12L shotgun as well as a 5% aim-down-sight speed boost. She’ll also be able to use the ITA12L shotgun for reworking the map to her advantage so instead of impact grenades, she’ll be running with the bulletproof camera as her secondary gadget. With it, the defending team will have extra eyes on an angle which is not easy to disable, and it can even shoot EMP bursts that can temporarily disable enemy electronic gadgets.
Excels in:
- Having the close-range superiority due to the ITA12L non-slug shotgun as Solis’ primary weapon which deals heavy damage per pellet and can down an opponent with just one shot at its optimal range
- The reflex B 1.0x sight providing Solis with a clear view when she’s aiming-down-sight on her ITA12L shotgun because of its small frame which doesn’t take up a lot of screen space
- All the 1.0x sights except the iron sight now provides +5% aim-down-sight speed boost on the weapon they’re attached to, so with the reflex B, Solis will be able to go into ADS stance a bit quicker than normal
- Having a fully automatic weapon in the SMG-11 machine pistol that can hit enemies at distances well beyond the effective range of the ITA12L shotgun
- Providing the whole defending team another set of eyes with the bulletproof camera as Solis’ secondary gadget. It has thermal sight and can also shoot EMP bursts for disabling enemy electronic gadgets
Build Details:
- Primary weapon - ITA12L with Reflex B
- Secondary weapon - SMG-11 with Red Dot A, Flash Hider, and Vertical Grip
- Generic gadget - Bulletproof Camera
