The new Vanguard Season One multiplayer maps are called ‘Paradise’ and ‘Radar’. According to Daniel Noel in the official news release by Call of Duty, the two maps offer “an assortment of new Pacific-themed territories to fight in…”

In the ‘TWO NEW MULTIPLAYER MAPS HEADLINE SEASON ONE OF CALL OF DUTY®: VANGUARD’ news release, Noel details a variety of tips and strategies to help players get a hang of the new maps as quickly as possible, and to help them dominate on the unfamiliar territory.

According to Noel, on ‘Paradise’, ” Players using short-range weapons like SMGs and shotguns will likely want to stalk the bottom half of the map.” His reason for saying this is that the lower half of the map has lots of tall rock formations for cover, whereas the upper side of the map is more open and thus better suited to long-range weapons and combat.

Noel’s top 3 tips for ‘Paradise’ are to keep away from toxic sludge, utilize deployable cover upgrades, and take advantage of the open ground to wreak havoc on enemy forces with killstreak attacks.

‘Radar’ is a much more CQB-focused map, according to Noel, with a “...maze of vehicles, makeshift buildings, and storage crates where short-range combat reigns.” However, he does mention that the middle road is a good spot for long-range and sniping. Alternatively, snipers can take up positions on the Radar catwalk.

Noel’s tips for ‘Radar’ are a little different. He recommends not lingering too long on the Radar catwalk, as it is exposed and leaves players vulnerable. Furthermore, he recommends using grenades and placing signal jammers in key buildings.

The full details and guide to surviving on the new maps are available on Call of Duty’s official news blog.
