Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice Releases 8th August. Will Bring Players Into “Viking Hell”

Chilling and haunting, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is scheduled for release on the 8th August 2017. What can players expect from this new title? Vikings, horror and hack and slash action.

Developed and published by Ninja Theory, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice uses the Unreal engine and seems set on scaring the hell out of gamers.

A dark gameplay video featuring the protagonist Senua, has been released by Ninja Theory, and from that we can take a number of things. For starters, the game looks very similar in both style and gameplay to Dark Souls, a series well known for its tough as nails levels and almost insane difficulty.

If Hellblade is anything like that (and I bet it is) then gamers better strap on their boots and knuckle down into some difficult as hell gameplay. A third person game much like Dark Souls, the difficult gameplay is becoming a popular theme for gamers everywhere.

From the gameplay footage, it’s unsure whether or not the game will have a HUD system, because in the video there simply aren’t any. Because of this, we can assume the game goes for a realistic approach, adding even more to the difficulty of the game.

Fans are hoping that this new IP from Ninja Theory delivers, not because it’s something fresh, but because it’s been done well before. It’ll take a lot of effort to dethrone Dark Souls as the king of hardcore gaming, but Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice may just be able to surprise both gamers and critics alike.
