New World has announced the release of a new Public Test Realm (PTR) for the purpose of granting players a preview of upcoming new content and gathering feedback.
The New World Public Test Realm will go live on 10 November 2021 at 12 PM Pacific Time. For a start, 1 world will go live in the Eastern United States and 1 will go live in Central Europe.
The primary reason behind the PTR is to minimize in-game bugs and issues in the main New World game. New World has stated that “Our goal is to provide you with the best possible experience in Aeternum. That means getting feedback and testing early and often…”
The Public Test Realm will give players an early look at upcoming content and allow them to offer their opinion on new features, as well as report bugs and issues.
New World has stated that all builds in the Public Test Realm are preview builds, not final versions, and players are likely to encounter bugs, crashes, missing text, and a variety of other issues.
To streamline the feedback process players will be able to insta-level new characters to a selected level so that the player abilities, weapons, and gear for that level can easily be tested.
Players will be able to provide feedback through the Public Test Realm sub-forum on New World’s website, or through the in-game feedback tool. Feedback during the current test period will be provided for three primary categories, namely:
- New weapons.
- New missions and mobs.
- New trading-post experience.
Once the test period is completed and the previewed content is added to the main New World game, the PTR worlds will be wiped and shut down until the next test period when they will be re-opened.
The full details of the new Public Test Realm can be found on New World’s official news blog.
