World of Tanks has revealed how the T26E4 Super Pershing tank is so effective despite its apparent lack of speed and mobility.

World of Tanks tweeted out on 22 November 2021 that “What the US tier VIII medium tank T26E4 Super Pershing lacks in speed and mobility, it makes up with toughness.” They further stated that its front armor panels are sourced off scrapped Panther tanks, making it ideal for “head-to-head combat.”

The T26E4 Super Pershing tank, also known as the T26 Pershing, was meant to replace the M4 Sherman as a medium-heavy tank in the US Army. Production took longer than planned, meaning very few saw any action in WW2. However, the tank was used extensively in the Korean War.

The T26E4 Super Pershing tank in World of Tanks weighs in at 53 tons and has a 720 horsepower engine, giving it a top speed of 42 km/h. This has a significant impact on mobility, making it hard to reposition rapidly.

However, the tank can do up to 320 hit points of damage with its 90 MM T15E1 main gun and can withstand over 1500 hit points of incoming damage with its 101mm thick hull armor.

According to the tweet by World of Tanks, this thick armor, the scrapped Panther armor being the secret, is what gives the T26E4 Super Pershing an edge in a head-to-head fight, despite its lack of mobility.

The T26E4 Super Pershing is a premium tank and can be purchased for 6400 coins in World of Tanks. Its ideal purpose is a role as an assault tank due to its incredible effectiveness in head-to-head fights.
