I go over the wyverns and what each is best suited for, including the Ice and Zombie wyverns!
5. Zombie
When night falls and the Dodo Wyvern calls, this undead monstrosity comes to its’ aid… and it’s tameable so why not tame one?! Unfortunately, they aren’t rideable without mods. Otherwise, they come in every flavor of wyvern except for Ice.
Wyvern Stats

- Food: 2,000
- Weight: 400
- Melee Damage: 80
- Torpidity: 725
- Looking unique
- Acting as a turret
4. Poison
Personally, I love the look of this wyvern and I love the range of its breath weapon, which you can just spam from a distance as a kind of flying artillery, though its’ damage falls off a bit compared to the others.

What The Poison Wyvern Excels In
- Turret mode makes this an excellent addition to base security
- With how easy it is to spam your attacks from the low stamina cost and the range of the attack itself, you can easily hang back and be aerial artillery for taking down titans, boss monsters, or when raiding enemy bases.
3. Ice
From the frozen wastes to the ice-capped mountains, this great beast reigns supreme as a master of the skies. It can also keep your beer cold.
Wyvern Stats- Health: 1,725
- Stamina: 275
- Oxygen: 150
- Food: 2,000
- Weight: 400
- Melee Damage: 80
- Torpidity: 725
- Its’ breath weapon hits an area and slows anything it hits, which is great for hit and run attacks on dinos like Titans and Gigas
- Has the same range as the Fire breath of the Fire Wyvern, so using the two together to slow and burn targets could make a truly devastating combo
2. Lightning
Death From above is a pretty accurate way to describe any wyvern, but this one is also exceptionally dangerous to run away from thanks to how its’ breath attack works. NEVER fly in a straight line around one of these.
Wyvern Stats- Health: 1,725
- Stamina: 275
- Oxygen: 150
- Food: 2,000
- Weight: 400
- Melee Damage: 80
- Torpidity: 725
- Breath weapon range: 17 foundations
- Damage from a full breath weapon: 705
- Breath weapon stamina cost: 125
- Its’ breath weapon seems to scale off melee damage, meaning that pumping that stat up should make this thing a flying tesla cannon that can easily out-damage the other wyverns BUT it is exceptionally hard to get something to take the full blast of its’ 4-second long breath weapon.
- That being said, if you bring this in for boss battles, you’ll find that it can easily out-damage any other tame you bring with you. Just keep its’ stamina up so you can stay in the air and get away from the boss or any help it spawns in.
1. Fire
It came as no real surprise to me which one would dominate this list. The fire breath is almost iconic to dragons and wyverns alike and it’s the first element people think of when they think of damage. There were some rumors that it was immune to flame arrows, but that’s not the case. Trust me… mine still has scars from a few of them.
Wyvern Stats- Health: 1,725
- Stamina: 275
- Oxygen: 150
- Food: 2,000
- Weight: 400
- Melee Damage: 80
- Torpidity: 725
- Breath weapon initial damage: 303
- Breath weapon range: 9 foundations
- Breath weapon stamina cost: 125
- You’d think that with the shortest range this would become a hindrance, but it really isn’t, it’s more than enough to fly in, torch a wide area, and fly out.
- The damage over time is actually based on the max HP of the one being burned, so the more HP the target has, the more damage it’ll take.
- Keeping in mind that its’ breath weapon hits an area, you can easily fly in close, torch several targets, and fly out during the ensuing chaos, making this a wyvern a great choice for anyone that is going to take on multiple targets at once.
