The game follows a night guard named Mike Schmidt who watches Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza at night. However, the animatronics roam at night and try to kill Mike. You must make sure Mike survives every night he works.

The game is from the first-person perspective. To survive, you must use cameras to keep an eye on the animatronics while keeping them out of your room by shutting the doors close. Using the cameras and shutting doors close drain the batteries, so those two things must be done wisely or you will die.
