So obviously, when upgrading your Town Hall you unlock new buildings, traps, and Heroes and you can upgrade each to a higher and better level. Because of that, the best army compositions may differ at different town hall levels. At TH16 you will be able to train a maximum number of troops. This gives you a huge flexibility to choose a great Army Composition that suits you best.

Having a good army composition is vital in Clash of Clans. Depending on your goal, whether it is to earn trophies, or win in your Clan Wars or Clan War League battles, you need to have a good army. With each level, you will have to face stronger enemies, as the loot from weaker opponents will only get smaller. Because of that, you will need a good army composition that will allow you to overcome stronger or similarly powerful opponents.

Let’s start this ranking with a great Army Composition. Mass Valks Double Clone is a great composition to use if you like to deal serious damage all at once. This attack is perfect for that.

This particular Army Composition starts quite slowly, but the more the attack progresses, the stronger it grows. Once your troops get into the center of the enemy’s base, it is practically game over for your enemy.

The most important thing that guarantees success when using Mass Valks Double Clone is to use spells at the right moments. If you manage to time them correctly, you will certainly destroy your opponent’s base. Also, make sure to have all the Heroes’ Equipment at very high levels.

How To Use This Composition:

  • on one side begin creating a funnel with the use of Baby Dragons and Barbarian King in the middle
  • on the other side of the enemy’s base use Battle Blimp
  • deploy Rage Spell on Clan Castle troops
  • use Barbarian King’s Ability when needed
  • send in Root Riders, Ice Golems, Valkyries, Electro Titan and Apprentice Warden supported by Grand Warden and Royal Champion
  • deploy Freeze Spell on Smash Damage Defenses
  • use Heroes’ Abilities effectively
  • when your troops get into the center of the base use your Rage and x2 Clone Spells
  • use your Minions to clear out the base
  • use for Trophy Push

Certainly this Army Composition is one of the most fun to use at TH16. It is quite a straightforward tactic and it is very effective if your troops are maxed out. When combined with the right use of spells, it becomes a real threat to anyone you face.

Right from the start of the attack, this composition gets you inside the enemy’s base and makes you tear it down from the inside. Moreover, the strong Twin Hog attack is a perfect way to clear out a huge portion of any base. With the use of Rage, Healing and Freeze Spells, this Army Composition becomes unstoppable.

As always with any Army Composition at high Town Hall levels, the timing of using the spells is crucial. If you manage to place your spells well and use them at the right moments, you will surely win. Support your troops with the right use of Heroes’ Abilities to ensure victory even more.

How To Use This Composition:

  • deploy x2 Yetis to create a funnel
  • in the middle of the funnel send in your Ice Golem, Electro Titan and Log Launcher
  • send in Barbarian King and Archer Queen supported by Apprentice Warden and Wizards
  • use Earthquake Spell to weaken the walls
  • try to clear out as many major defenses as possible and when necessary use King’s Ability
  • deploy Freeze Spells when necessary
  • once you get rid of the Eagle Artillery send in your Super Hog Riders and a couple of Hog Riders supported by Grand Warden from the side of the base
  • support your Hog Riders with Healing and Rage Spells
  • use remaining troops to clear out the base
  • use for Clan War

This Queen Charge Army Composition is a great way of getting inside the enemy’s base. Your Archer Queen will be able to clear out a good portion of the base and later on, your other Heroes and troops will do the same. When done correctly, this composition becomes powerful.

The biggest power of this composition is its Queen Charge attack. If your Archer Queen is maxed out, then at TH16 it is practically unstoppable and can get inside the center of the base with the help of Healers. When you make that happen, just follow through with your troops and other Heroes and secure the victory.

Make sure that you direct your Queen Charge well. Your Queen must get inside the enemy’s base and you need to make sure that she deals the most damage possible. Try using spells to help her succeed and the rest of the attack will become much easier.

How To Use This Composition:

  • use Balloon to attract Seeking Air Mines and send in the Battle Blimp and use Rage Spell on your Clan Castle troops
  • deploy Archer Queen, Apprentice Warden and Healers
  • destroy the walls with the use of Super Wall Breakers and destroy mines and collectors with Sneaky Goblins to get your Queen inside the base
  • use Balloons to attract Air Damage instead of the Healers
  • use Rage Spell and Overgrowth Spell to support the Queen Charge and get inside the base and destroy the center
  • on the side of the base use Barbarian King
  • on the other side of the base, once most of center is cleared, use Root Riders, Royal Champion and Grand Warden
  • use Warden Ability when the rest of troops is deployed and start clearing out the base while supporting it with the Royal Champion Ability
  • use remaining spells
  • use for Trophy Push

4. Sarch Root Riders (Clan War)

If not for the Super Archer, the Sarch Root Riders composition wouldn’t succeed

Sarch Root Riders is a very offensive-oriented Army Composition. When using it, you come with a strong attack right off the start. That is why it is one of my favorite compositions, as it doesn’t back down even for a second, you go straight in for the win.

The greatest advantage of Sarch Root Riders is that with the use of the Blimp attack, you can get rid of the enemy’s Town Hall at the beginning of the offensive. If you manage to do that, the rest of the attack will become much easier to perform.

Make sure to keep your CC troops alive while they attack the Town Hall. You have to destroy it to ensure victory. Afterwards, use your Heroes’ abilities at the right moments and those two tips will certainly bring you much closer to winning.

How To Use This Composition:

  • attack the enemy’s base from one side with the use of a few Rocket Balloons and Battle Blimp
  • use Rage Spell, Clone Spells and Invisibility Spell on the CC troops
  • before Invisibility Spell wears off, use another every 4 seconds
  • use Ice Golem, Apprentice Warden and Root Riders and enter the base
  • support your troops with Barbarian King, Archer Queen and Grand Warden
  • when necessary use Warden’s Ability
  • attack the base from the back with the remaining Rocket Balloons and Royal Champion
  • clear out the outside of the base with Super Barbarians and any remaining troops
  • use your Heroes’ Abilities to clear out the last remaining defenses
  • use for Clan War

What I really like about this Army Composition is its simplicity, even though it’s a TH16 composition. Yet still, Yeti Witch is a very simple tactic. You don’t have to use very complicated methods to win with this composition.

The greatest capability of this Army Composition is that you can easily three-star an enemy’s base without much effort. All you have to do is set up the funnel. After you do this, you send all of your troops in and all Heroes, except one which you send later on.

The major thing when using this composition is to remember to set the funnel right for your troops to go inside the base. You have to make sure that the funnel is created properly. Also, be sure to open up the base with the Earthquake Spells.

How To Use This Composition:

  • begin your attack by setting the funnel with x2 Yetis and x2 Witches on both sides
  • open up the enemy’s base with x4 Earthquake Spells
  • use another x4 Earthquake Spells deeper inside the base to further open it up
  • span all your Yetis and Witches along the line to begin the attack
  • send in the Log Launcher and all your Heroes, except Royal Champion, as well to go down the funnel to the center of the base
  • deploy Freeze Spells on Splash Damage Defenses
  • use your Royal Champion at the back of the base to clear out the defenses
  • when necessary activate your Heroes’ Abilities
  • use for Trophy Push

Super Bowler Smash is always an effective Army Composition. It doesn’t matter if you are Town Hall 13 or Town Hall 16. Whatever your level is, the Super Bowler Smash will certainly be of huge help in winning Clan War League battles.

The greatest advantage when using this Army Composition is its strength is spawned across the whole base. Once your Bowlers get inside the enemy’s base, it’s only a matter of time before you deal serious damage to all surrounding buildings. After all, this composition isn’t called “Smash” for no reason.

The biggest key to succeeding when using this tactic is to use your spells correctly. Use them efficiently and make sure that your troops stay under their effect for as long as possible. Do all that and your victory is practically certain.

How To Use This Composition:

  • deploy Baby Dragon and Grand Warden to set the funnel
  • use Archers and Super Wall Breakers to set the funnel
  • on the end of the funnel deploy the Siege Barracks and Barbarian King to finish setting up the funnel
  • send in your Ice Golem, Electro Titan, Balloons and Super Bowlers
  • support your troops by additionally sending in the Archer Queen and Healers
  • use Freeze Spell on Smash Damage Defenses and use Barbarian King Ability
  • once your troops go inside the base use Grand Warden Ability
  • send in the Royal Champion to help your troops
  • deploy Rage Spells on your Super Bowlers throughout the attack to let them smash the enemy’s base completely
  • use for Clan War League

As we finish this article let’s see one of the most dangerous and powerful compositions. Root Rider + Electro Titan Smash is the combination of my favorite troops in the game. When you learn to use this Army Composition, you will surely become a real force to be reckoned with.

Right from the beginning of the attack, you ensure getting a star by destroying the enemy’s Town Hall. This sets you in a great position to target your opponent and further destroy him. Once the TH is down, the rest of the attack will become much easier.

Be sure to destroy the Town Hall at the beginning of the attack. Don’t forget that it is also crucial to let your Super Minions do as much damage as possible. Lastly, make sure all of your troops go inside the base to wreak havoc once the Root Riders are deployed.

How To Use This Composition:

  • use your Lava Hound on the corner of the base to attract the attention of the defenses
  • deploy Battle Blimp to attack the Town Hall
  • before Battle Blimp goes down use Rage Spell, an Invisibility Spell and Clone Spell
  • use Invisibility Spell every 4 seconds and make sure to destroy the enemy’s Town Hall and deal as much damage as possible with your CC troops
  • use Super Barbarians and Barbarian King to clear out the area and deploy Ice Golem to go inside the base and tank
  • deploy Root Riders to target the Major Defense
  • support the Root Riders by deploying the Archer Queen, Grand Warden, Royal Champion and Electro Titans
  • use your Heroes’ Abilities when needed
  • clear out the base with Super Barbarians
  • use for Trophy Push
