So, recruit… you've made it to Arena 7. Allow me to be the first to welcome you to the Royal Arena.
Here, you have 8 new troops available to you. I’m sure you’re getting a bit frustrated wondering how to construct your deck to tackle these changes. Well, I'm here to put your worries aside with 5 suggestions that you can use to quickly put this arena behind you, taking a step closer to the top of the ladder.
I'll be blunt and say that data doesn't lie. And what we're seeing with the statistics in this arena is that a lot of decks are built around Giant (For good reason, Giant is a pretty valuable tank here).
But this article isn't "5 Giant Decks for Arena 7", so I'll strive for variety. What you can expect from me here will be:
- 3 Giant-Based Decks
- A varied playstyle deck
- A Hog Cycle Deck
So let’s get right down to it:
5. Giant Musk
This deck, which became fully valid in Arena 5, is still extremely useful here, and for good reason. It’s reliable, relatively cheap, well-balanced, and not too complex to play. You’ve got this, champ!
Cards:
- Giant
- Mini P.E.K.K.A
- Musketeer
- Knight
- Fireball
- Minions
- Arrows
- Spear Goblins
Deck Stats:
- Attack: 7/10
- Defence: 9/10
- Versatility: 9/10
Deck Features:
- A relatively low-cost deck that shines in its defensive playstyle. Don’t waste elixir though: Invest by dropping Giant, Knight or Musketeer (Your investment cards) at the back to force your opponent to take action.
- Punish your opponent when they try to drive tanky units to your towers, simply by dropping off your Mini P.E.K.K.A, and watch them get decimated, then drop a tank at the bridge to cement your counter push!
- Great balance between air-targeting units and ground troops too, leaving you vulnerable to nothing!
4. Giant GobHut
It’s truly a defensive deck with a healthy side of toxicity, especially given the unrelenting flow of goblins running to your opponent’s towers. Just make sure not to overcommit since you have no cheap cycle cards!
Cards:
- Giant
- Mini P.E.K.K.A
- Musketeer
- Knight
- Fireball
- Minions
- Goblin Hut
- Arrows
Deck Stats:
- Attack: 7/10
- Defence: 10/10
- Versatility: 9/10
Deck Features:
- Dropping a Goblin hut behind your tower to begin a steady stream of troops running to your tower, forcing your opponent’s hand to play a large spell to take out the Hut, or cards to deal with the ensuing goblins.
- When you’ve got an elixir lead due to your opponent trying to deal with the unending Spear Goblins, you can either push the other lane or, if you’re feeling confident, build a bigger push that supports your Spear Goblins with a tank dropped at the bridge.
- If any tanks do make their way to your lanes, you can easily pick them off with your Mini P.E.K.K.A, your Musketeer, or your Minions.
3. Giant Loon
The first deck in this list using one of your new Arena 7 cards, this deck gives your Balloon a chance to shine, balancing great attack and defence with INSANE versatility, you’ll do well here, no matter what deck your opponents have!
Cards:
- Giant
- Balloon
- Knight
- Musketeer
- Minions
- Archers
- Tombstone
- Arrows
Deck Stats:
- Attack: 8/10
- Defence: 8/10
- Versatility: 10/10
Deck Features:
- Use Tombstone either as an investment - to build frustrating pushes that your opponents are forced to deal with, or defensively - to kite any offensive troops your opponents drop and keep them away from your towers.
- When you have a good push building up, dropping a Balloon behind a tank and supporting it with an air-targeting troop is a surefire way to seal your victory.
- Predicting your opponent’s plays will pay off. Imagine wiping out any defensive swarms your opponent plays with a well-timed Arrows!
2. Prince Wiz BBD Valk
While this deck is much harder to play than the previous 3, playing it well will be extremely rewarding. This deck is a behemoth when it comes to defence, and that makes up for its average attack, it’s also countered quite easily so you have to be strategic.
Cards:
- Prince
- Mini P.E.K.K.A
- Baby Dragon
- Witch
- Valkyrie
- Skeleton Army
- Wizard
- Arrows
Deck Stats:
- Attack: 6/10
- Defence: 10/10
- Versatility: 8/10
Deck Features:
- This is an extremely defensive deck that’s highly reliant on counter-pushing. Make sure to play passively, dropping investment cards in the back to capitalise on your opponent’s mistakes.
- Prediction will win you the game. A ground swarm easily messes up any of your high-damage troops. If your prince is charging, predicting such swarms with your arrows can win you the game.
- Defend and counter, defend and counter, defend and counter. This deck is not cheap, nor does it forgive highly offensive plays, so play passively and focus on defending to open up opportunities for counter-pushing!
1. Hog Cycle 2.8
Last but not least, we’ve got one of my favourite deck styles to play: A Hog cycle deck. If you’re not familiar with a Hog Cycle deck, it’s as simple as the name suggests: You drop your hog to attack your towers, and cycle with the cheaper troops to get back to Hog and drop him all over again!
Cards:
- Hog Rider
- Musketeer
- Knight
- Fireball
- Skeletons
- Electro Spirit
- Zap
- Cannon
Deck Stats:
- Attack: 6/10
- Defence: 10/10
- Versatility: 9/10
Deck Features:
- A very cheap Hog Cycle deck, most of your damage will come from Hog Rider, and maybe a Musketeer as well.
- Try not to overcommit, since your only win condition is Hog Rider, you’ll need to defend well because your opponent WILL defend your Hog and counter-push.
- Leverage your cheap cycle troops and your Cannon to defend, but don’t be shy about dropping a Musketeer or a Knight, then counter-push by dropping a Hog on the bridge!
That's all, folks!
I hope you'll find these decks helpful in your climb through Arena 7, and have a blast playing them!
See you in the next one!
