Max Thompson, also known as 'Hillbilly', is one of the first original killers who were introduced in the killer trio on 14 June 2016. Hillbilly can be described as a high-mobility killer. He can manoeuvre around the map with his chainsaw, which has an approximate speed of 9.2m/s, around 230% of his movement speed. Not only can he move around his chainsaw, but he can also one-shot survivors who stand in his way, making it very flexible for the killer and great around empty-spaced maps with minor obstacles.

Nonetheless, let us look at the drizzling speedy killer and its top 5 builds:

5. The Curvy Boozle Billy Build

Dead by Daylight gameplay by D3AD Plays

The Curvy Boozle Billy Build is a build that is incredibly advantageous against loops and the field view of the killer. With Bamboozle, which is considered one of the most potent anti-chasing perks in the game for the killer, can black vaults, therefore, making the survivors unable to perform the action, and therefore, have no option but to run their lives, which in killer's perspective it is an easy hit.

But with Billy, it can be an easy down, as he can one-shot survivors with his chainsaw, which makes this job even easier with the perk shadowborn which does not allow the survivor to lose his field of view. Therefore it is considered a traditional build that is recommended to anyone who would like to have fun playing with billy and its anti-looping strategies.

What The Curvy Boozle Billy Build Excels In:

  • With bamboozle, you will be able to block loops, which can be considered an anti-looping perk that will quickly kill a chase and get a hit on the survivor or a down with a chainsaw.
  • With Shadowborn, you will have a maximum increased view of 15 degrees which is very good for spotting survivors and quickly noticing the auras with the help of the perk barbecue and chilli.

Build details & Perks:

  • Bamboozle: Performing a Vault action is 5/10/15 % faster and calls upon The Entity to block that Vault location for Survivors for 8/12/16 seconds. Only one Vault location may be secured this way at any given time.
  • Pop goes the weasel: After hooking a Survivor, Pop Goes the Weasel activates for the next 35/40/45 seconds: The next Generator you damage instantly loses -20 % of its current Progression. Regular Generator Regression applies afterwards, and Pop Goes the Weasel deactivates.
  • Barbecue and chilli: After hooking a Survivor, all Survivors who are at least 60/50/40 metres away from that Hook have their Aura revealed to you for 4 seconds.
  • Shadowborn: Increases your Field of View by 9/12/15 °.

4. The No Pain Enduring Billy Build

Dead by Daylight gameplay by Ayrun

The no pain enduring billy build is a build that is great for finding survivors and being consistent with them during the chases. With infectious fright, it can reveal the survivors who scream once a survivor is put into the dying state, and there it is amazingly linked with barbecue and chilli, where once you put the survivor on the hook, you will have the ability to see the survivors' aura again and see patterns where they are moving around.

Nonetheless, with enduring and spirit fury, you are invincible with the pallets and, therefore, a recommended build during chasing.

What The No Pain Enduring Billy Build Excels In:

  • With infectious fright, it can reveal the survivors who scream once a survivor is put into the dying state, which saves a lot of time.
  • With the combination of the perks of enduring and spirit fury, you can go through obstacles with ease whilst in a chase with a survivor.

Build details & Perks:

  • Infectious fright: Whenever a Survivor is put into the Dying State by any means, all other Survivors within your Terror Radius will scream and reveal their current location to you for 4/5/6 seconds.
  • Barbecue and Chilli: After hooking a Survivor, all Survivors who are at least 60/50/40 metres away from that Hook have their Aura revealed to you for 4 seconds.
  • Spirit Fury: After breaking 4/3/2 Pallets, the next time you are stunned by a Pallet, The Entity will instantly break it. You still suffer from the Stun penalty.
  • Enduring: You are resilient to pain. Reduces Pallet Stun duration by 40/45/50 %. Enduring has no effect while carrying a Survivor.

3. Play with Billy Build

Dead by Daylight gameplay by PotatoLegion

The Play with Billy Build already has a definition within its build name, to play. Its main perk to supporting this would be Hex: Plaything, which makes the survivors go oblivious once they are hooked for the first time. It is a perk that is easy to get rid of by the survivors; however, it is a perk that has a small time gap, and once a survivor manages to find the hex, they might find Billy behind them and get downed by the quite chainsaw, which ultimately makes it a powerful build because they do not expect what is coming throughout the map unless the hex is cleansed.

What Play with Billy Build Excels In:

  • With Hex: Plaything, you will have the ability to creep on survivors and give them the pressure of their life whilst they are in an oblivious status effect.
  • With the perk corrupt intervention, you will have some time spared at the beginning of the game and look for survivors much more easily on the generators that are not blocked.

Build details & Perks:

  • Hex:Plaything: If there is at least one Dull Totem remaining in the Trial Grounds, Hex: Plaything activates on a random Totem each time a Survivor is hooked for the first time: The hooked Survivor suffers from the Cursed and Oblivious Status Effects until Hex: Plaything is cleansed. For the first 90 seconds, only the Cursed Survivor can cleanse the Hex Totem. The Aura of Hex: Plaything's Hex Totem is revealed to the Cursed Survivor within 24/20/16 metres.
  • Corrupt Intervention: At the start of the Trial, the 3 Generators located farthest from you are blocked by The Entity for 80/100/120 seconds. Corrupt Intervention deactivates prematurely once the first Survivor is put into the Dying State
  • Pop goes the weasel: After hooking a Survivor, Pop Goes the Weasel activates for the next 35/40/45 seconds: The next Generator you damage instantly loses -20 % of its current Progression. Regular Generator Regression applies afterwards, and Pop Goes the Weasel deactivates.
  • Barbecue and Chilli: After hooking a Survivor, all Survivors who are at least 60/50/40 metres away from that Hook have their Aura revealed to you for 4 seconds.

2. The All-Knowing Billy Build

Dead by Daylight gameplay by MSA_Matei

For the All-Knowing Billy Build you have the ability to know all in this game. In other words, you will enable to see the auras of survivors in pretty much every situation in the game, such as when hooking, at the start of the game, when a generator is completed and when a survivor is unhooked, making you aware of all the survivors, it gives you a great advantage, which is even better than keeping track of the progress of generators, as you would already know if the survivors are on it just because of their aura.

However, the reason this build doesn't make it to number one on this list is the fact that there aren't any other abilities which can slowly progress the game such as greater regression methods such as ruin. However, in conclusion, it is a great build for those who want to see everything and catch survivors without having to purposely find them.

What The All-Knowing Billy Build Excels In:

  • With the perk bitter murmur and barbecue and chilli, you will be able to see the auras of survivors more often, making finding survivors much easier in situations where hooked or when a generator is completed.
  • With Lethal Pursuer, you see the auras of survivors at the beginning of the game, which is very powerful as it gives you a headstart, and therefore you will have the chance to sacrifice survivors much faster.

Build details & Perks:

  • Barbecue and Chilli: After hooking a Survivor, all Survivors who are at least 60/50/40 metres away from that Hook have their Aura revealed to you for 4 seconds.
  • Bitter Murmur: Each time a Generator is completed, the Auras of all Survivors within 16 metres of that Generator are revealed to you for 5 seconds. Once the last Generator is completed, the Auras of all Survivors are shown to you for 5/7/10 seconds.
  • Lethal Pursuer: At the start of the Trial, the Auras of all Survivors are revealed to you for 7/8/9 seconds. Extends the duration of a Survivor's Aura being shown to you by +2 seconds. Lethal Pursuer benefits from its effect.
  • Scourge Hook: Floods of Rage: At the start of the Trial, four random Hooks are changed into Scourge Hooks: The Auras of Scourge Hooks are revealed to you in white. Each time a Survivor is unhooked from a Scourge Hook, the following effects apply: The Auras of all other Survivors are revealed for 5/6/7 seconds.

1. The Generator Surveillance Billy Build

Dead by Daylight gameplay by Mitia_k

The Generator Surveillance Billy Build is considered to be in the top 1 in this build, and the reason this build is considered to be one of the best is due to the ability to monitor and overall of keeping control of the game. The three main perks, discordance, barbecue and chilli, and pop goes the weasel allows you to simultaneously check the progress of generators and regress them when needed with pop goes the weasel after hooking a survivor.

Nevertheless, at the same time whilst hooking, you will see the auras with the help of barbecue and chilli and not only keep control of the generators and their status but also the survivors and the pattern of movements every time you hook someone. Making this one of the greatest builds for Chainsaw Billy.

What The Generator Surveillance Billy Build Excels In:

  • The ability to monitor the generators with the perk 'discordance', which tells you when two or more survivors repair a generator, therefore able to use the chainsaw and increased percentage of hitting one of those survivors.
  • With the combination of discordance and pop goes the weasel, you will effectively be able to regress generators whilst seeing the most progressed generator on the map due to the number of survivors on it.

Build details & Perks:

  • Pop goes the weasel: After hooking a Survivor, Pop Goes the Weasel activates for the next 35/40/45 seconds: The next Generator you damage instantly loses -20 % of its current Progression. Regular Generator Regression applies afterwards, and Pop Goes the Weasel deactivates.
  • Barbecue and Chilli: After hooking a Survivor, all Survivors who are at least 60/50/40 metres away from that Hook have their Aura revealed to you for 4 seconds.
  • Corrupt Intervention: At the start of the Trial, the 3 Generators located farthest from you are blocked by The Entity for 80/100/120 seconds. Corrupt Intervention deactivates prematurely once the first Survivor is put into the Dying State
  • Discordance: Any Generator within a range of 64/96/128 metres that two or more Survivors are repairing is marked by a yellow Aura. When the Generator is first highlighted, Discordance triggers a Loud Noise Notification on the Generator. After the Generator is no longer within range or is being repaired by just 1 Survivor, the highlighted Aura will linger for another 4 seconds.
