[Top 5] Dead By Daylight Best Kate Denson Builds
Kate Denson was introduced to Dead by Daylight in the Chapter 8: Curtain Call DLC, alongside the killer The Clown. Kate’s teachable perks are actually fairly decent and I would consider them to be underrated, and then there’s boil over. Let’s dive into what the best builds are that you can use with Kate’s teachable perks.
5. Super Wiggle
SUPER WIGGLE.EXE - Dead By Daylight
Starting we have to get Boil Over out of the way. It isn’t the worst perk in the game per se, but it is definitely Kate’s weakest perk. However, it does have its situations where it helps and can save you from getting hooked, and when it does, it is really fun.
Boil Over increases the struggle effects from wiggling on the killer, causing them to strafe side to side more. There is also a side effect that stops the killer from seeing auras of hooks within 14 meters of himself.
To capitalize on the extra struggle, we are going to use Unbreakable paired with Flip Flop to allow us to not have to wiggle as much before we can escape.
Unbreakable allows you to recover 35% faster on the ground and allows you to pick yourself up once per game if you are given the chance.
Flip Flop allows you to convert your recovery progress to wiggle progress, at a 50% conversion rate.
That extra wiggle progression and the struggle of the killer swaying side to side more, possibly getting stuck on walls and objects, and the lack of seeing the closest hooks, may just save you in time.
Lastly, we have Head On, which is mostly a throw-away perk, it doesn’t synergize with any of the other perks we are bringing. If you are in a locker for 3 seconds, you can burst out of the locker stunning the killer as long as they are in front of it. This has the potential to save teammates that are being carried or simply stun the killer during a chase.
What Super Wiggle Excels In:
- Counters slugging killers.
- Fun when it works.
- Possibility for saves / stuns.
Perks Used:
Boil Over: While being carried by the Killer:
- Your Struggle Effects from Wiggling, causing the Killer to strafe sideways, are increased by 25/50/75%.
- You obscure the Killer's ability to read the Auras of all Hooks within 10/12/14 meters of your pick-up location.
Flip Flop: While in the Dying State, 50% of your Recovery progression is converted into Wiggling progression, up to a maximum of 40/45/50%, once you are picked up by the Killer.
Head On: While standing in a Locker for 3 seconds, Head On activates.
- When performing a rushed action to leave a Locker, stun the Killer for 3 seconds if they are within range.
- Head On causes the Exhausted Status Effect for 60/50/40 seconds.
- Head On cannot be used when Exhausted or when you have accrued Stillness Crows.
Unbreakable: Once per Trial, you can completely recover from the Dying State.
- Your Recovery speed is permanently increased by 25/30/35%.
4. Leave No Trace
Oh Yeah, Dance With Me Is a Perk
Leave No Trace is all about losing the killer mid chase. Kate’s perk Dance With Me is a great stealthy perk for this, that helps you get away and confuse the killer.
Dance With Me will stop you from leaving scratch marks for 3 seconds after vaulting through a window or leaving a locker.
Lithe will be used to help you make the most out of those 3 seconds, giving you a burst of speed, running at 150% the normal sprint speed.
Quick and Quiet is also going to play an integral part here, which stops noise notifications from showing up when doing a rushed action, like vaulting a window. If you happen to do this while out of line of sight of the killer, they will have no indication that you took the window at all, and can severely confuse them.
Lastly, we have Iron Will, which stops your cries of pain from making sounds while you are injured. This is very important to have because if you try to vault a window and use lithe to run away, there is no point in hiding your scratch marks if the killer can hear your cries sprinting in a different direction. It would ruin any chance at a mind game if your killer is wearing headphones.
What Leave No Trace Excels In:
- Great at escaping from the killer.
- Good mind games.
- Hiding yourself at all times.
Perks Used:
Dance With Me: When performing a rushed action to vault a Window or leave a Locker, you will not leave any Scratch Marks for the next 3 seconds.
- Dance With Me has a cool-down of 60/50/40 seconds.
Iron Will: When injured, Grunts of Pain are reduced by 50/75/100%.
Lithe: After performing a rushed vault, break into a sprint at 150% of your normal running speed for a maximum of 3 seconds.
- Lithe causes the Exhausted Status Effect for 60/50/40 seconds.
- Lithe cannot be used when Exhausted.
Quick and Quiet: Loud Noise notifications for rushing to vault Windows, or to enter or exit Lockers are completely suppressed.
- Quick & Quiet has a cool-down of 30/25/20 seconds.
3. Easy Loops
Windows of Opportunity + Vault Build = Easy Loops | Dead by Daylight
Easy Loops is a very strong build, utilizing Kate’s perk Windows of Opportunity. This build is all about making the most out of chases and having the easiest time in loops.
Windows of Opportunity allows you to see any pallet, window, or breakable wall within 20 meters of you. This makes it very easy to see what the best tiles are to run the killer around if you happen to get into a chase.
And it should be fairly clear when a chase is about to start since you have Spine Chill that will let you know when the killer is looking at you. While Spine Chill is active, you will get faster actions such as repairing, healing, basically everything including, vaulting.
Along with Spine Chill’s extra vaulting speed, if you happen to be injured you will get another boost to your vaulting speed with Resilience. This makes your window vaults much faster and you can get away with closer loops than you and the killer are probably used to.
And if you think that extra speed won't help you because the killer is just too close, you have Dead Hard to give you that little extra boost and make it to that window or pallet.
What Easy Loops Excels In:
- Strong exhaustion perk.
- Very strong looping ability.
- Knowledge of where safe tiles are all of the time.
- Counters stealth killers.
Perks Used:
Dead Hard: When Injured, tap into your adrenaline bank and dash forward quickly to avoid damage.
- Press the Active Ability button while running to dash forward.
- Avoid any damage during the Dash.
- Dead Hard causes the Exhausted Status Effect for 60/50/40 seconds.
- Dead Hard cannot be used when Exhausted.
Resilience: When injured, your Action speeds in Repairing, Healing, Sabotaging, Unhooking, Vaulting, Cleansing, Opening, and Unlocking are increased by 3/6/9%.
Spine Chill: Whenever the Killer is looking in your direction when within 36 meters of you, Spine Chill activates:
- Skill Check Trigger odds are increased by 10%.
- Skill Check Success zones are reduced by 10%.
- Your Action speeds in Repairing, Healing, Sabotaging, Unhooking, Vaulting, Cleansing, Opening, and Unlocking are increased by 2/4/6%.
Windows of Opportunity: The Auras of Breakable Walls, Pallets, and Windows are revealed to you within 20 meters.
- Windows of Opportunity has a cool-down of 30/25/20 seconds after vaulting or dropping a Pallet during a Chase.
2. Mind Game Queen
Shrine Showcase - Stake Out & Dance With Me
Mind Game Queen is very similar to Leave No Trace, however, we replace Iron Will with Fixated.
The reason we do this is that with this variation, we don’t intend to run into an empty field risking the killer seeing us run away. Instead, with this, we want to vault the window, get the extra speed, all while hiding our scratch marks, but continue to run around the loop, or to get behind a wall or tree very close by. From there, once our Dance With Me runs out, we will use Fixated and walk around the structure, hiding from the killer.
Fixated allows you to walk 20% faster while uninjured, so you don’t need the extra speed to sprint and hide and leave scratch marks, allowing yourself to get caught. This is just fast enough to be able to evade the killer that is searching around structures or trees.
Otherwise, the build is the same. You use Quick and Quiet, Lithe, and Dance With Me to vault a window, confuse the killer about where you went, sprint somewhere nearby without leaving any trail, and disappear to the killer and make them question their sanity.
Quick and Quiet allows you to vault without making a noise notification, letting the killer know that you did vault.
Lithe allows you to run away at 150% speed after vaulting.
And Dance With Me allows you to not leave scratch marks for 3 seconds after vaulting a window.
What Mind Game Queen Excels In:
- Great at escaping from the killer.
- Good mind games.
- Hiding yourself at all times.
- Faster walking speeds.
- See where your scratch marks are.
Perks Used:
Dance With Me: When performing a rushed action to vault a Window or leave a Locker, you will not leave any Scratch Marks for the next 3 seconds.
- Dance With Me has a cool-down of 60/50/40 seconds.
Fixated: You walk 10/15/20% faster and can see your own Scratch Marks.
1. I See All
OPEN HANDED + WINDOWS + KINDERED = LOL! - Dead by Daylight PTB!
I See All is a very strong build that gives you a whole lot of information. The two perks that are giving you information are Kate’s perk, Windows of Opportunity, and Kindred. This then gets boosted with Open Handed, which gives you a larger area to gather information from. And then we have Dead Hard that helps out in chases.
Windows of Opportunity allows you to see windows, pallets, and breakable walls around you for 20 meters. This then gets an extra 16 meters with Open Handed for a total of 36 meters of tile knowledge. This should be plenty of information to get you to a safe place to loop the killer around when they find you.
Kindred shows you all the other survivors on the map when somebody is hooked. Along with this you also get to see the Killer’s aura when they are within 16 meters of the hooked person. This gets boosted an extra 16 meters with Open Handed as well, for a total of 32 meters. This lets you know where the killer is going, or if they are hiding out nearby. If you happen to be the one that is hooked, that information is given to the other survivors.
Then we have Dead Hard to help you out in chases. If you are injured and don’t think you can make it to a pallet or window in time, use Dead Hard to close the distance and hopefully allow you to get another loop or 2 before having to either go down or leave the tile and start another loop.
What I See All Excels In:
- Lots of information.
- Know where the good tiles to loop are.
- Strong exhaustion perk.
- Know where other survivors and the killer are.
Kindred: While you are hooked:
- The Auras of all Survivors are revealed to one another.
- Whenever the Killer is within 8/12/16 meters of your Hook, their Aura is revealed to all Survivors.
While another Survivor is hooked:
- The Auras of all other Survivors are revealed to you.
- Whenever the Killer is within 8/12/16 meters of the hooked Survivor, their Aura is revealed to you.
Open Handed: Open-Handed increases all Aura-reading ranges by 8/12/16 meters.
- Open-Handed does not stack with other instances of itself.
Windows of Opportunity: The Auras of Breakable Walls, Pallets, and Windows are revealed to you within 20 meters.
- Windows of Opportunity has a cool-down of 30/25/20 seconds after vaulting or dropping a Pallet during a Chase.
