[Top 15] FF14 Best Katanas That Look Freakin' Awesome!
Huzzah to one of the best DPS!

The true end game of Final Fantasy XIV is glamour, and you might want to show it off, especially when there is an effort to get the weapon!

There are four ways to gain weapons with a nice touch of visual effects; the first and easiest way is buying/crafting, the second one is doing relic quests, the third one is by deep dungeon, and the last one is by doing the Ultimate difficulty raids. Now, let us jump to SAM's best weapon, VFX!

15. Tremor Katana

Somehow forged by Alchemists.

If you like an earthy style of weapon, then this is for you. Like its name, Tremor, this weapon comes from Titan and is similar to Titan's body crag. With an earthy yellow aura, I think this weapon looks cool!

How to get it:

  • To craft, you will have to finish the trial to get the material necessary, The Navel (Extreme), to get the Crag Heart item.
  • Or buy from the Market Board.

14. Blood of the Vortex

The blade that cuts through the wind.

This weapon resembles Garuda, with its windy Visual Effect looks tranquil but deadly! The primary color is soft green, but still, it looks great!

How to get it:

  • To craft, you will have to finish the trial to get the material necessary, The Howling Eye (Extreme), to get the Vortex Feather item.
  • Or buy from the Market Board.

13. Seeing Horde Katana

Never look this dark.

This weapon looks very dark, as if Nidhogg's hatred is imbued inside it. With a full black and dark purple aura, you could hardly miss it!

How to get it:

  • To craft, you will have to finish the trial to get the material necessary, The Minstrel's Ballad: Nidhogg's Rage, to get the Nidhogg's Scale item.
  • Or buy from the Market Board.

12. Katana of the Round

It's sharp and not round, trust me.

Katana of the Round has an icy blue theme. If this suits your overall glamour, I see no reason why not?

How to get it:

  • To craft, you will have to get the material necessary,
  • Or buy from the Market Board.

11. Byakko's Enspirited Katana

What can go wrong?

This weapon suits many glamours in Eorzea; with white as the dominant color, it's not hard to mix and match the color for this weapon. The effect makes this weapon hard not to notice.

How to get it:

  • To craft, you will have to finish the trial to get the material necessary, The Jade Stoa (Extreme), to get the Byakko's Mane item.
  • Or buy from the Market Board.

10. Tsukuyomi's Moonlit Chokuto

It feels just right!

Tsukuyomi weapon is the one weapon I used. The sheathe for this weapon is simple yet elegant, and I love the weapon design, simple and not too much. Thou the primary colors are purple and black, but unlike Nidhogg's, this gives different vibes.

How to get it:

  • To craft, you will have to finish the trial to get the material necessary, The Minstrel's Ballad: Tsukuyomi's Pain, to get the Celestial Kimono Remnant item.
  • Or buy from the Market Board.

9. Suzaku's Flame-kissed Chokuto

Passionate bird, flaming sword. Simple, right?

If you favor the Ifrit weapon, you might also like this weapon. With its firey looks, this weapon is like the upgraded version of the Ifrit.

How to get it:

  • To craft, you will have to finish the trial to get the material necessary, Hells' Kier (Extreme), to get the Scarlet Tailfeather item.
  • Or buy from the Market Board.

8. The Fae’s Crown Katana

One word, beautiful.

This weapon is from one of the latest updates; the price is at an all-time high because all job looks good with this weapon; its fairy wings effect, when drawn, gives it that elegant look.

How to get it:

  • To craft, you will have to finish the trial to get the material necessary, The Dancing Plague (Extreme), to get the Dancing Wing item.
  • Or buy from the Market Board.

7. Kinna Katana

Worth the grind!

If you like the combination of red and black, then this is the right weapon for you! Kinna Katana is a weapon from the deep dungeon Palace of the Dead, and you will need enough Aetherpool to get this weapon!

How to get it:

  • Do the Palace of the Dead deep dungeon,
  • Trade 1 Padjali Katana and 6 Aetherpool Grip to E-Una-Kotor in South Shroud.

6. Torigashira Physeos

Did it caught your attention?

Torigashira Physeos is a relic weapon of Stromblood! To get to this point, you will have to finish all three previous Eureka Island and its quest line. This is a grinding relic, but nonetheless, a fun one.

How to get it:

  • Clear the quest 'The Baldesion Arsenal',
  • Trade 1 Torigashira Eureka and 100 Eureka Fragment to Gerolt in Eureka Hydatos.

5. Blade's Fealty

Samurai are known for their fealty to the damage indeed!

Another relic weapon, this time from Shadowbringer. You will have to complete all previous quests to get the last form of this Katana. I will not go further with the story since I don't want to spoil any of it!

How to get it:

  • Complete the quest 'Irresistible' to get one of the relic weapons of your choosing.

4. Ultimate Dreadwyrm Katana

Who doesn't want a Golden Katana.

You can get this excellent weapon by clearing the Ultimate Raid: The Unending Coil of Bahamut (Ultimate). Yep, this will require you to join a static or consistent raid group to clear an Ultimate. Choose your mate well and get the token!

How to get it:

  • You have to clear The Unending Coil of Bahamut (Ultimate) to get a token,
  • Trade the token in Rhalgr's Reach with the NPC Eschina.

3. Amakura Ultima

An axe look like katana?

Amakura Ultima, just like its name, is from the UWU's (Ultima Weapon Ultimate) raid. The weapon has a big katana sheath, and the weapon design itself is a bit odd to me. But if you like the color icy blue, then this is the weapon for you.

How to get it:

  • You have to clear Ultima Weapon (Ultimate) to get a token,
  • Trade the token in Rhalgr's Reach with the NPC Eschina.

2. Ultimate Honebami

Get your TEA weapons NOW!

Honebami primary color is gold-silver, with a nice touch of purple VFX. You can get this weapon by clearing TEA, The Epic of Alexander (Ultimate). You will just need to clear once to get one weapon. Ensure you have at least one slot in your inventory when you aim to clear!

How to get it:

  • You have to clear The Epic of Alexander (Ultimate),
  • Trade the token in Idyllshire with the NPC Bertana.

1. Ultimate Katana of the Heavens

A reward that suits the hero.

This is from the latest Ultimate Raid, DSR: Dragonsongs Reprise (Ultimate); the visual of this weapon is unique, and it is as worth it as clearing the current most complex Ultimate raid in Final Fantasy XIV. With the weapon being sheathed, people would still know that you are one of the top players that already cleared DSR!

How to get it:

  • You have to clear Dragonsongs Reprise (Ultimate) to get a token,
  • Trade the token in Radz-at-Han, with the NPC Nesvaaz.

These are the Katana that successfully stole my heart and made me want to get them all; which one is your personal favorite? Or is it not listed here (like Maliferous Moggle Mogtana, mayhap)? It is okay, and there are still several options left for Samurai's weapon!
