[Top 15] Harry Potter Best Wallpapers That Look Amazing

Harry Potter Best Wallpapers
Hold on, those are not all of the Harry Potter books...

Which one of these amazing wallpapers will end up on your desktop?

The Harry Potter franchise by J.K. Rowling has won the hearts of hundreds of millions of people ― including me ― and rightfully so. Raise your hand if you, too, read and reread all the books, watched and re-watched all the movies, and if there’s not a single Harry Potter video on YouTube that you haven’t watched, I’m with you on this! But being a fan can be expressed in so many more ways, from dressing up as one of Rowling’s characters to collecting Harry Potter-themed art. If you’re looking for a new way to express your love for the beloved franchise, I’m your guy! And today, I come to you with the coolest Harry Potter-themed wallpapers that will make your PC desktop scream, “Expecto Patronum!”

15. A Letter from Hogwarts

The only letter I got on my 11th Birthday is a Birthday card.

I have always found the letter from Hogwarts to be surrounded by this inexplicable aura of charm and excitement. Even though my letter never came (crying emoji), I imagine it must be one of the most exciting days in any wizard’s life: an owl diligently delivers the letter in its beak right at the doorstep of your house. Or a roof, maybe? In any case, this one is the very same letter – or one of the many, anyway – Harry received when he was 11 and still living in the cupboard under the stairs. Isn’t it charming?

14. Hogwarts in Trouble

A castle on fire

This stunning view might hypnotize you with its color shades and transitions, but if you look closer, you’ll actually see there’s fire on the premises of the school. It might be the battle for Hogwarts that’s happening in this picture, but whatever it is, its mysterious beauty and tension will make you pause and look at it every time you go to your desktop, that’s for sure.

13. Hedwig’s Find

Hedwig got Harry a little present.

I am a big lover of Harry Potter-themed art, and this little painting here is one of the most beautiful and simple things I’ve ever seen created. I admire its style, with these watercolor-like brushes, and the fact that it doesn’t have much in it: just Hedwig sitting on a roof peak with the talisman of the Deathly Hallows, and we can see the night sky with some clouds in the background. It’s soothing and beautiful in its simplicity, and it’s simply pleasant to look at.

And if you look at it long enough and concentrate, you might even hear Hedwig’s Theme playing quietly in the background...

12. Potions Class

If it's the Polyjuice Potion, it won't be easy to make.

While the thought of a Potions class with Snape does not bring joy and excitement to anyone, even if you’re a Slytherin, this Potions class seems to be a much more pleasant one. Surrounded by candles and books, this Gryffindor student seems to be working on a potion and focusing all the attention on the instructions. Is this supposed to be a Potions class or a meditation session? The very atmosphere in this picture is so magical, I love it!

I just hope this potion is supposed to produce all those fumes…

11. The Ultimate Rivalry

This kind of tension in movies always makes me want to cover my eyes.

Harry Potter and Voldemort are what seems to be a never-ending battle between the forces of good and evil. This wallpaper is a bit more dramatic than the previous ones, with Harry’s face covered in blood and him and Voldemort looking at each other decisively.

Perfect if you want to spice up your desktop a notch.

Not so perfect if you’re easily distracted by Voldemort’s lack of a nose.

10. Hogwarts Express

Next stop: Hogwarts

This wallpaper is a combination of beauty and magic, a two-in-one, so to speak. Just look at the scenery! Imagine the passengers of a train going through such stunning places, being able to enjoy them from their windows. But in this case, we actually know this is not just any train, but the Hogwarts Express carrying hundreds of students to another year of potion-brewing and wand-yielding. As I said, beauty and magic combined!

9. Deathly Hallows

The Elderly Wand, the Resurrection Stone, and the Cloak of Invisibility

Now this painting of the Deathly Hallows symbol is probably one of the most beautiful ones I have ever seen! The shining and sparkles will make your desktop brighter than the sky on New Year’s Eve. If you want to bring some cosmos to your PC, this might be exactly what you’re looking for.

By the way, I thought at first that the wings in this painting represent Hedwig, but now I actually think that those might be the wings of Death from The Tale of the Three Brothers. What do you think?

8. The Four Houses

Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus.

The Hogwarts emblem, with its four houses and the motto, painted on some wood background, is classy and beautiful, and it’s actually a background that I personally had on my desktop for months. “Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus” translates as “Never tickle sleeping dragons” – damn right, you shouldn’t! Some wisdom with a splash of colors representing your favorite school ― that’s a recipe for wallpaper.

7. Voldemort Strikes Again

The Elder Wand, the most powerful wand in the world

The result of Voldemort’s long search, the final reward – the Elder Wand. This is the scene where Voldemort has just found the wand in Dumbldore’s tomb and strikes the sky with a powerful ray lightning, showing us we’re basically in for some big-time Avada Kedavras. Dramatic and dark, this picture will lighten up your computer routine. See what I did there?

6. Platform 9 And Three Quarters

Right under Muggles' noses...

“Platform 9 and three quarters? You think you’re being funny?” a train station employee told Harry when he asked for directions. That’s alright, Muggles don’t belong there anyway. Here’s another wallpaper that’s full of charm and beautiful magical energy that surrounds Harry Potter. When I look at it, I see the promise of adventure and the exciting anticipation of discovering something I didn’t know existed.

5. The Final Battle

The Boy Who Lived vs. You-Know-Who

Okay, I don’t know that for sure, but I like to think that this is the final duel between Voldemort and Harry, when one defeats the other for good. The level of epic here is just too high! Sparkles and rays of light of all colours are everywhere, circling around these two, who seem to be in the epicenter of the chaos they created themselves. There are even flying rocks! Bravo to the artist for creating such a dramatic piece of art.

4. Who Let The Dragons Out?

Looks like someone tickled a sleeping dragon anyway.

And here we have a live dragon sitting on a roof in the Diagon Alley, casually breathing fire at passers-by. If you remember the poor dragon kept in captivity at Gringotts Bank who was released in the final movie, that’s him. Or her? If a fire-breathing dragon doesn’t scream “Epic”, I honestly don’t know what does.

3. Dobby, A Free Elf

"Dobby has no master! Dobby is a free elf, and Dobby has come to save Harry Potter and his friends!"

This picture is all about Dobby, it doesn’t have any elements that would distract our attention from the elf. Half-hidden in the shadows, he is looking somewhere with his big, kind, innocent eyes, and I suddenly remember all the good and selfless things we have ever read or watched him do for others. To every Dobby fan and appreciator out there, don’t walk past this simple, but deep in meaning wallpaper.

2. “After All These Years?”

"Always."

I’m sure you don’t need an explanation here, but just in case, here you go: Snape has been in love with Lily, Harry’s mum, ever since he met her, and after her death, his Patronus became a doe, just like Lily’s had been. When he revealed his Patronus to Dumbledore, he wondered if Snape still had feelings for Lily after all these years had passed. Snape simply replied, “Always.” I’m not crying. You’re crying.

This beautiful, illuminated doe appears to Harry in the forest and leads him to a very important find on his quest to defeat Voldemort, a tale of love, hope, and finding allies in the most unexpected places. Maybe this beauty could illuminate your desktop now?

1. Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry

Hogwarts, Hogwarts, Hoggy Warty Hogwarts, teach us something, please...

I am absolutely in love with this picture, and I’ll be damned if it doesn’t stay on my desktop wallpaper for the next few months. Even without the fact that this is Hogwarts we’re talking about, I love the castle itself and the colors in this photo, the gray and cloudy sky with the street lamps and the Gothic Gargoyle statues. But who am I kidding? There’s no way you could mistake Hogwarts for just a random castle. It’s shown here in its beauty and majesty as well as in its mystery.

Full disclosure: if you’re as easily distracted as I am, you might actually end up staring at it all day long and have no work done on your PC, so watch out!
