As Minecraft continues to update and grow, more and more creative and fantastic biomes are added to populate the blocky, pixelated world with vibrant and colorful environments and ecosystems. Every once in a while, though, it’s nice to go back to the OG Minecraft biome and appreciate the classics. Here are ten great grasslands seeds to take you back to your childhood.

This seed’s spawn is lively and features an excellent view. The grassy hills overlook a river valley and are full of horses, pigs, and noisy chickens, and right next to you is a lovely hilltop village, a great place for some early game loot. Between the beautiful spawn and the little town, this seed starts you off in an excellent spot to start scouting for the location of your forever home.

This grassy coastline is huge and dotted with dozens of little islands of all sorts of sizes for a wide variety of building locations, and there’s a sprawling village nearby for convenient resources and trading.

This plains biome circles a towering snowy peak. In the distance, you can spy a village, along with cliffs full of caves, ripe for exploration. Exposed caverns and ravines make mining fun and easy, and overall, this seed is just gorgeous.

Spawning you just a stone’s throw away from a good-sized village, this seed’s grasslands biome is punctuated with little birch groves for a bit of environmental depth-of-flavor. Not too far away, you can find a taiga biome. Spruce wood is gorgeous when paired with birch and oak, so a home built here is bound to be rustic and stunning.

There are two villages nearby, but this seed makes you really hunt for one of them. On one side, you have flat grasslands, but on the other, you have a fascinatingly generated mountain biome. Tucked under a rocky outcropping is your second village, surrounded by pouring lava waterfalls.

This seed’s plains biome is anything but empty. A huge grassy hill overlooks the valley below, both spaces sporting a small town for an easygoing start to your game, but beware - a pillager outpost looms by in the near distance.

The grasslands at the foot of this snowy mountain fade into forests, and there is a decently sized village located on the treeline not too far away. This region is positively beautiful and presents a lovely environment for storytelling.

The grasslands in this seed are stretched out into a long, thin strip that crosses over a lake and is flanked by forests on either side. You’ll notice that one of those forests is a dark oak forest, characterized by its enormous trees and canopy made of dense leaves and giant mushroom caps. This is relevant because this seed also spawns you near a Woodland Mansion.
