Lion is one of the best operators that a player could use in Siege, and he’s great to have as an operator whether the player is a beginner or a veteran. That’s because his special gadget, the EE-ONE-D is very simple to use and its effects are global, meaning that wherever Lion is on the map, once he activates it, it’ll have an effect on the match.
Recently, Lion has received some big changes to his loadouts so it’s time to reassess the best choices for his weaponry and utilities. In this article, we’ll be discussing five best loadout choices that will up the players’ game whenever they’re using this great attacker.
5. SG-CQB with Reflex B, Vertical Grip, and Laser + P9 with Suppressor and Laser + Stun Grenade
Most Siege players, when they’re using Lion, don’t really run with his SG-CQB, but this is the best time to consider using it. Because non-slug shotguns like the SG-CQB have been recently buffed. For clarification, non-slug shotguns are those that shoot multiple pellets per shot, and they’ve been some of the most underrated weapons in the game for a long time, obviously because of their limited range. But because of the recent buff, they’re not more viable as primary weapons because going into aim-down-sight stance with them is now more rewarding.
Shooting the SG-CQB while on aim-down-sights stance will result in a tighter pellet spread and the effective distance of the shotgun will also improve. They’ve also increased the damage of the shotgun when its pellets hit the opponent’s head. The SG-CQB shotgun, despite its limited range, is also great for Lion because his EE-ONE-D scans are great for interrupting enemy movements and getting close to them. Partnering with the stun grenades, Lion really has a lot of means to get close to his enemies, well within the distance where the SG-CQB has the close-range superiority.
Excels in:
- Lion having the close-range superiority because of the SG-CQB shotgun which shoots multiple pellets per shot and can down an opponent with just one shot at its effective range
- The SG-CQB shotgun is quite unique compared to many non-slug shotguns because it can be equipped with a vertical grip and because of that its weapon kick can be very manageable
- The laser on the SG-CQB shotgun will tighten its pellet spread when the user is hip firing. That will increase the effectiveness of the weapon and the user won’t always have to go into an aim-down-sight stance to be effective.
- The suppressed P9 handgun will allow Lion to shoot enemy gadgets, especially cameras, with much less chance of alerting the enemies to his presence.
- The stun grenades, along with Lion’s special gadget, the EE-ONE-D, can really help Lion get close to his enemies, well within the reach of his SG-CQB shotgun.
Build Details:
- Primary Weapon - SG-CQB with Reflex B, Vertical Grip, and Laser
- Secondary Weapon - P9 with Suppressor and Laser
- Secondary Gadget - Stun Grenade

4. V308 with Scope 2.5x A, Compensator, and Vertical Grip + P9 with Suppressor and Laser + Claymore
If the user’s goal is to have the best recoil control on Lion’s V308, this is the loadout setup to go run with. The V308’s stock recoil has always been quite easy to manage, but it does have pretty big recoil diamonds. The bigger the recoil diamonds of a weapon, the more prone it is for horizontal and random recoil from all directions. What the compensator barrel attachment does is to reduce the recoil diamond size of the weapon, so with it on the V308’s barrel, the weapon’s recoil will be more stable, especially on longer sprays.
On top of that, the V308 in this setup also has the vertical grip attachment which provides more vertical recoil control. So not only will the user have great horizontal recoil control, they’ll also manage the vertical kick of the V308 well. For its sight, the scope 2.5x A is really the best sight for Lion players, because it will allow them to see their targets really well and target them with great accuracy due to its arrow tip reticle on the center. Contrary to what’s said in the R6 wiki, I find that it’s also easier to control the recoil of weapons the higher the zoom level is because it’s easier to see where your shots are going.
Excels in:
- Lion’s V308 having reduced propensity for horizontal and random recoil from all directions due to the compensator barrel attachment that will reduce the weapon’s recoil diamond size
- Maintaining a good amount of vertical recoil control on Lion’s V308 assault rifle due to the vertical grip attachment which adds a lot of vertical recoil control benefits to the weapon.
- Having pinpoint accuracy with Lion’s V308 assault rifle due to the scope 2.5x A which will provide high zoom levels that will allow the user to see their enemies well when they’re on aim-down-sights stance
- The suppressed P9 handgun as Lion’s secondary weapon will allow him to disable enemy gadgets like Cameras and other non-bulletproof ones without giving away his location easily
- Lion bringing two claymores on the round will allow him to counter run outs as well as score kills on enemies that will flank him and his teammates
Build Details:
- Primary Weapon - V308 with Scope 2.5x A, Compensator, and Vertical Grip
- Secondary Weapon - P9 with Suppressor and Laser
- Secondary Gadget - Claymore

3. 417 with Scope 3.0x, Muzzle Brake, Vertical Grip, and Laser + P9 with Suppressor and Laser + Claymore
As mentioned in the intro to this article, Lion’s special gadget, the EE-ONE-D, has a global effect. That means that wherever Lion is on the map, once he activates his EE-ONE-D, it will have an effect on the match. That means he’s very versatile and if he wants to, he can be the team’s long-range support. When it comes to that, the 417 is a great weapon because it’s a designated marksman rifle and can be attached with a scope 3.0x which will provide great levels of zoom and will allow Lion to target enemies with deadly accuracy even from long-range.
The thing is though, the 417 can also excel at close-range with this setup because the laser will greatly tighten its hip fire spread and the muzzle brake will greatly lower its recoil. So at close range, Lion doesn’t even have to go into aim-down-sights stance to hit an enemy with the 417. He can pepper them with shots and not lose much control because of the laser and the muzzle brake. As for the claymore being his generic gadget, it’s a great utility especially when he’s performing long-range support as they can score kills on enemies that will attempt run outs.
Excels in:
- Excelling at medium to long-range due to the 417 being a designated marksman rifle and the scope 3.0x providing a great amount of zoom level for hitting enemies well even at long-range
- Inflicting high damage to enemies as well as having a weapon with great destruction rate in the 417 DMR which Lion can use to destroy unreinforced hatches for his or his team’s entrypoint
- Excelling at close range due to the tight hip fire spread on the 417 marksman rifle that is caused by the laser attachment which is greatly aided by the muzzle brake on its barrel lowering its vertical recoil
- Having a weapon that can silently shoot enemy gadgets in the suppressed P9 handgun which will also have a tight hip fire spread due to its laser attachment
- Countering run outs and enemy flankers with the use of the two claymores in Lion’s arsenal as his secondary gadget
Build Details:
- Primary Weapon - 417 with Scope 3.0x, Muzzle Brake, Vertical Grip, and Laser
- Secondary Weapon - P9 with Suppressor and Laser
- Secondary Gadget - Claymore
2. V308 with Scope 2.5x A, Flash Hider, and Angled Grip + P9 with Suppressor and Laser + Frag Grenade
There are so many things going on for the V308 assault rifle that makes it one of the best primary weapons in the game. Luckily for Lion, it’s only available to him. The V308 inflicts high damage per shot, is compatible with a wide variety of attachments, has a massive magazine capacity for an assault rifle, and its recoil is very easy to manage. That last part is very important for this loadout setup because it means that it can be used well even with just only one recoil control providing attachment, which, in this case, would be the flash hider.
The flash hider adds a lot of vertical recoil control on weapons and also hides their muzzle flash. Meanwhile, the angled grip will allow the user to go into aim-down-sights faster than normal. So the V308 in this setup will have good balance between ADS speed and recoil control. As for the generic gadget, the frag grenades are the latest addition to Lion’s loadouts. It cannot be “cooked” anymore, but it would still be an effective weapon for Lion when it comes to pushing because he can use it to force defenders out of their hiding spots.
Excels in:
- Maintaining a good amount of vertical recoil control on Lion’s V308 assault rifle with the use of the flash hider barrel attachment which will also remove the weapon’s muzzle flash
- Allowing the user to go into aim-down-sights stance faster than normal on Lion’s V308 assault rifle through the use of the angled grip attachment which is great for sudden enemy engagements
- Having pinpoint accuracy when targeting opponents because of the scope 2.5x A on Lion’s V308 which provides the user with high zoom levels and an arrow tip reticle at the center
- Disabling enemy gadgets like CCTV cameras without giving away your position with the use of Lion’s suppressed P9 handgun which also has a laser that tightens its hip fire spread
- Being able to force defenders out of their hiding spots by throwing frag grenades at them. The frag grenades can also be used to destroy pesky bulletproof defender gadgets.
Build Details:
- Primary Weapon - V308 with Scope 2.5x A, Flash Hider, and Angled Grip
- Secondary Weapon - P9 with Suppressor and Laser
- Secondary Gadget - Frag Grenade
Recoil test on the V308 in this setup with the author’s own recoil control applied:
1. V308 with Scope 2.5x A, Suppressor, and Vertical Grip + LFP586 with Laser + Stun Grenade
This is at number one because the suppressor removing the directional threat indicator from the V308’s shots and silencing it is such a great perk for Lion because it makes defenders slower to react to his shots. The suppressor doesn’t add any recoil control to the V308, but since the vertical grip is present in this setup, Lion will still have a good handle on its recoil. Because the enemies won’t receive a directional threat indicator and even a muzzle flash from Lion’s shots, it could be difficult for them to know where they’re coming from, especially at medium to long range.
The V308’s gunshots being much more silent will also make it harder for enemies to pinpoint Lion’s current location. As for the LFP586 handgun as Lion’s secondary weapon, Lion already has the suppressed V308 for silently shooting enemy cameras and other gadgets, so for his secondary weapon, it’ll be better for him to have a handgun that deals a massive amount of damage per shot and has a tight hip fire spread due to its laser. The stun grenades on the other hand are great for pushing because they can blind enemies and inflict tinnitus on them that will mask Lion and his teammates’ advance.
Excels in:
- Shooting enemies and making them slow to react to your shots because they won’t be receiving a directional threat indicator of where your shots are coming from due to the suppressor on the V308
- Silencing the gunshots from the V308 assault rifle will make Lion harder to find for the enemies, especially when he’s shooting from medium to long-range.
- Maintaining a good amount of vertical recoil control on Lion’s V308 assault rifle due to the presence of the vertical grip attachment
- Having the LFP586 handgun as Lion’s secondary weapon, which is great for finishing off enemies due to its high damage and penetration rate. It will also have a tight hip fire spread due to the laser.
- Blinding and deafening enemies with the use of the three stun grenades in Lion’s arsenal which is always great for pushing the objective spot

- Primary Weapon - V308 with Scope 2.5x A, Suppressor, and Vertical Grip
- Secondary Weapon - LFP586 with Laser
- Secondary Gadget - Stun Grenade
