Your journey begins here.

Basic Understanding of the Rank System
The Rainbow Six Siege ranking system is pretty simple once you understand what the game calculates. In a nutshell, when you win match after match, you tend to rank up. But, understand that the ranking system is a work in progress and could make changes on how it works and what it calculates.

Alright, the system focuses on  the wins and losses of your matches. So that means your KDA (kills, deaths, assists), and your overall score do not matter in the case of ranking up. But, how does it calculate your skills based on winning or losing matches? Let me explain!

A Detailed Example of the Rank System
Let’s say that a team of copper ranked players went against a team of silver ranked players. The system understands the gap in skill between these rank teams and believes that the silver team would win based on the ranking. Now, the copper team loses the match, but they are barely affected by it.

The system foresaw this based on the ranking as copper is the lowest rank against silver, which is third lowest rank. The silver team gets the same treatment. They don’t get much out of the match because they were way better off compared to copper.

Though, what if the copper team won that match? Well, the copper players of that team would benefit greatly from it and probably go up a number or rank up to bronze. The silver team would get the opposite. They would go down based on skill level.

Well, believe it or not, there isn’t much to it. It’s a system that rewards winners fairly. But, how do you get up the ranks fast?

How Do You Rank Up Fast On Rainbow Six Siege
I’m gonna be honest with you. There isn't a magical way to rank up as fast as possible. I know, shocking right?

You probably don’t want to read this, but all you have to do is practice. Practice and understand how the game works. Learn the maps of the rank matches, practice your aim (headshots are best results), and learn how to use each operator in the best way possible.

Rainbow Six Siege is a team-oriented game. You have a better chance of winning if your team works together.

You can invite your friends to play and become an unstoppable force. Though you should also practice by playing terrorist hunt, or you could create a custom game and practice by yourself! How can you practice by yourself?

Well, you can practice your reaction time and map knowledge. As you probably know (or not), the majority of the maps have clocks hanging on the walls all over the map. Basically, you go around the map shooting these clocks.

But, you know, pretend they are players that will fire back.  As you repeatedly do this on each map, you will learn where each of the clocks is located without much thought.

Another way to practice your aiming is by creating a custom match and finding something to aim at, and walking around while still having your aim on it. This “something” must not be too big as you want this to represent a player, specifically the head.

The last exercise I will recommend you do is having a friend walk around the map in several different ways and listen. This game uses sound as a way to get information on where your enemy is at, what he is doing, what his distance is from you, whether he is below or above you, what operator he could be, and so much more!

I fully recommend you get some decent headphones so you can take full advantage of the sound in the game. Or just get some cheap earbuds, as having something is better than nothing. Plus remember, you need a mic in order to communicate with your teammates, which will give your team a huge advantage if your team is coordinating throughout the match.

A good example of effective teamwork is the pro teams. It doesn't matter if you like esports or not. The people on these teams are considered really good, and you can benefit from watching these pros play. Analyzing these matches can teach you well-coordinated strategies that would improve your gameplay and take you far in the rankings.
