Breeding flowers is a fun past-time in Animal Crossing: New Horizons as it adds an even more immersive experience.
How to breed flowers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Flower breeding became popular in Animal Crossing: New Horizons very early on in the game because it doesn’t require you to have reached any particular milestones. Breeding flowers also allows you to unlock colors that you’re not able to buy from Nook’s Cranny or Leif. You need a basic knowledge of color combinations, such as “red plus white equals pink.” And depending on how many hybrids you’re looking to create, you’re going to need a wide-open space on your island. Follow the steps below to see exactly how you can breed flowers!
How To Breed Flowers In ACNH:
- Figure out what you want to breed. For this example, we’re going to breed pink roses. In order to do this, you need to have both red roses and white roses in your inventory.
- Head to the area on your island that you’ve designated as a flower bed.
- Alternate the order of your roses, leaving a space in between them. For example, a row should look like this: red rose, empty space, white rose, empty space, red rose. This ensures that the pink roses have spaces to populate.
- Water your flowers daily. Sometimes your villagers will help, but don’t rely on them.
- In a couple of days, you should see pink roses growing in the empty spaces! You’re also able to clone them by replanting them in their own area.
- There are many different color combinations that you can make with the eight original flower types in the game. Happy breeding!
