ACNH: How To Kick Villagers Out

Comes in handy when a particularly ugly villager decides to move in.

Tired of hitting ugly villagers with nets and burying pitfall seeds in the hopes that they'll leave your island? Me too.

Quickest way to kick out villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

When you first begin expanding your island, villager hunting is exciting and you may scramble to get all of the available plots occupied. However, when your tenth villager moves in you’re pretty much stuck with the same faces until a thought bubble appears above one of their heads, and they ask to leave. The problem is that this only happens about once every two weeks, and there’s no way of controlling which villager will ask. Fortunately, “where there’s a will, there’s a way,” but it will require you to time travel. If that’s something you’re opposed to, you’re just going to have to wait it out. But if you're a rebel or just impatient, read below. Side Note: I am not responsible for any guilty feelings you may have as a result of kicking an ugly villager out.

How To Kick Villagers Out In ACNH:

  • To begin, travel fifteen days into the future. Like we’ve already covered, a thought bubble will appear over a villager’s head once every two weeks so fifteen days is enough time to ensure that a villager will want to leave.
  • Visit your villagers and see which one has a thought bubble above their head. If it’s the villager you want to kick out, talk to them and permit them to leave. All done!
  • But, if it’s not the villager you want to kick out the best thing to do is to save your game, and time travel forward one more day.
  • Repeat this process until the thought bubble appears over the head of the villager you want to leave. This is the easiest, quickest, and most fool-proof way to ensure the correct villager moves out.
