What are Legendaries?
Legendary Pokemon are special Pokemon that are both rare and powerful. They are held in great regard by the people of the Pokemon world. Legendaries are viewed as legends, myths, and even gods to many.
What makes them unique?
What makes Legendaires so unique is they are extremely rare in the Pokemon world. There’s usually only one of each Legendary per save file. They can’t be bred, so the only way to get multiple copies of a Legendary is to trade them with another person.
With that said, let’s get into the ranking!
66. Regice (Strong)
(Transfer from Pokemon HOME)
I wonder what move Regice is going to use?
HP: 80
Attack:50
Defense: 100
Special Attack: 100
Special Defense: 200
Speed: 50
Regice is an Ice-type Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained by transferring it from Pokemon HOME.
Regice wants its hidden ability Ice Body. Ice Body heals a bit of Regice’s max HP if snow is on the battlefield. With this ability in mind, Regice wants to tank and that’s it. Its Attack stat is atrocious, with its Special Attack and Defense being useable.
Regice wants a support Pokemon to lay down snow terrain so it can do some real work. Otherwise, Regice will melt away quickly despite its massive Special Defense. I’d stay away from Physical moves with that crap Attack stat, and focus more on its Special Attack. It’s going to want STAB Ice moves to do any sort of damage, so things like Ice Beam or Blizzard work well. Also, try tanky, support moves like Rest (combined with Sleep Talk), Toxic, Aurora Veil, or Safeguard to help the team out.
- Low Attack stat limits its move pool options
- Absurdly high Special Defense solidifies it as an amazing Special tank
- No secondary typing makes it weaker overall
65. Registeel (Strong)
(Transfer from Pokemon HOME)
What kind of devastating power do you think it’ll unleash??
HP: 80
Attack:75
Defense: 150
Special Attack: 75
Special Defense: 150
Speed: 50
Registeel is a Steel-type Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained by transferring it from another game through Pokemon HOME.
Registeel has the ability Clear Body which prevents its stats from being lowered. Its stats are geared for tanking, with high Defense and Special Defense, and low offenses. It wants to be a wall to soak hits and be a nuisance for your foes.
For tanking purposes, Registeel wants moves like Amnesia, Iron Defense, Magnet Rise, and Rest combined with Sleep Talk. For attacking moves, you could try Body Press, Iron Head, Earthquake, or Flash Cannon. Since Registeel is so tanky, it can easily absorb hits and set up for the team by using moves like Rain Dance, Sandstorm, Stealth Rock, Sunny Day, or Safeguard.
- Amazing defensive stats but average to middling offenses
- Good access to supporting moves for itself and teammates
- Superb typing gives it few weaknesses, making it a great tank for your team
64. Regirock (Strong)
(Transfer from Pokemon HOME)
Is it just me, or does it look like Regirock is flying?
HP: 80
Attack:100
Defense: 200
Special Attack: 50
Special Defense: 100
Speed: 50
Regirock is a Rock-type Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained by transferring it from another game through Pokemon HOME.
Regirock has the ability Clear Body which prevents its stats from being lowered. Its stats clearly indicate another tank. Most of the Regis want to be tanky or bulky in some fashion, and Regirock is no exception.
Regirock wants to use moves like Body Press, Rock Slide, Earthquake, Fire Punch, and Drain Punch for offensive power. For defensive tactics, you could use Iron Defense, Stealth Rock, Rest combined with Sleep Talk, Block, and Substitute to protect Regirock from damage. You could also give it moves that support the team like Sunny Day, Safeguard, Toxic, and Sandstorm.
- Amazing bulk with that huge 200 Defense stat
- Poor typing makes it lower on the list because of its many weaknesses
- Can eat hits like a champ with its defenses and help itself as well as the rest of the team with support moves
63. Moltres (Strong)
(DLC: Indigo Disk)
Oh no! Everyone beware of the flaming chicken!
HP: 90
Attack:100
Defense: 90
Special Attack: 125
Special Defense: 85
Speed: 90
Moltres is a Fire/Flying Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained after you complete 10 Solo Blueberry Quests and get a Moltres Treat from Snacksworth. Moltres will be on the peak of the rock formations northwest of the Asado Desert Watchtower near Cascarrafa.
Moltres wants its hidden ability Flame Body, which has a 30% chance to burn the opponent if it attacks with a physical move. Its stats are leaning towards a Special Attack sweeper. It also has decent defenses too so if it needs to take a hit or two it shouldn’t be immediately KO’d.
Moltres wants to use offensive moves like Flamethrower, Air Cutter, Air Slash, Scorching Sands, or Burn Up. It can also use moves like Agility, Tailwind, Roost, or Detect. Moltres wants support from other team members to take advantage of its full power. Things like Sunny Day really help Moltres shine.
- Fire typing helps Moltres deal more damage with many move options
- Offensive stats make it a good sweeper once properly set up
- Would be higher on the list but its stats are average and not as focused as others on the list
62. Zapdos (STRONG)
(DLC: Indigo Disk)
Doesn’t Zapdos look terrifying?
HP: 90
Attack: 90
Defense: 85
Special Attack: 125
Special Defense: 90
Speed: 100
Zapdos is an Electic/Flying-type Legendary Pokemon. It can be found after you complete 10 Solo Blueberry Quests and get a Zapdos Treat from Snacksworth. Zapdos will show up on top of the Poco Path Lighthouse.
Zapdos wants to use its hidden ability Static, which has a 30% chance to paralyze opponents that come into direct contact with Zapdos. Its stats are geared for being a Special Attack sweeper, similar to Moltres, but it has more focused stats.
Zapdos wants to use moves like Thunderbolt, Volt Switch, Thunder, or Rising Voltage to take use of its higher Special Attack and Speed. It wants support from your other Pokemon to set it up so it can start sweeping foes. Things like Rain weather or Electric Terrain will help Zapdos’ moves deal extra damage.
- More focused stats than Moltres puts it higher on the list
- High Special Attack and Speed make it a good offensive threat
- Needs support to fully shine and start dishing out massive damage
61. Articuno (STRONG)
(DLC: Indigo Disk)
There’s something I’ve always loved about Articuno… Maybe because it just looks so beautiful!
HP: 90
Attack: 85
Defense: 100
Special Attack: 95
Special Defense: 125
Speed: 85
Articuno is an Ice/Flying-type Legendary Pokemon. It can be found after you complete 10 Solo Blueberry Quests and get an Articuno Treat from Snacksworth. Articuno will be near a freezing waterfall close to Montenevera in Glaseado Mountain.
Articuno has the ability Snow Cloak which increases its evasion by 1 stage during a Snowstorm. Its stats are geared for being a bulky defensive Pokemon, although if you want, Articuno can be offensive too.
Articuno wants to use moves that complement its bulk and make it tanky, so moves like Roost, Mist, Aurora Veil, Heal Bell, Light Screen, or Reflect would work well. For offenses, Articuno can use moves like Blizzard, Freeze-Dry, Ice Beam, Sheer Cold, or Air Cutter. Articuno can do well either offensively or defensively, so pick which role you want to specialize in and go to town.
- Good bulk makes it harder to kill than Moltres or Zapdos
- Access to good support moves for itself and the team
- Poor typing makes it lower on the list
60. Mesprit (STRONG)
(Transfer from Pokemon HOME)
Doesn’t Mesprit look so adorable floating there all playful-like?
HP: 80
Attack: 105
Defense: 105
Special Attack: 105
Special Defense: 105
Speed: 80
Mesprit is a Psychic-type Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained by transferring it through Pokemon HOME.
Mesprit has the ability Levitate, which makes Mesprit immune to Ground-type moves. Its stats are balanced overall with only HP and Speed being 80 instead of 105. With this spread, Mesprit can be a versatile addition to your team.
Since Mesprit’s stats are so balanced, it can perform many roles your team may need. If you want offensive moves, take a look at Psycho Cut, Zen Headbutt, Ice Beam, Shadow Ball, Thunderbolt, or Psychic. If you want Mesprit to be more bulky, try Light Screen, Reflect, Safeguard, or Calm Mind.
- Balanced stats make it flexible
- Because of its balanced stats, Mesprit isn’t as role-focused as others on the list
- Great typing that allows it access to good moves, both offensively and defensively
59. Uxie (STRONG)
(Transfer from Pokemon HOME)
Uxie is such a sleepy lil guy!
HP: 75
Attack: 75
Defense: 130
Special Attack: 75
Special Defense: 130
Speed: 95
Uxie is also a Psychic-type Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained by transferring it through Pokemon HOME.
Uxie has the ability Levitate, which makes Mesprit immune to Ground-type moves. Like Mesprit, Uxie has even stats, except for its Defense and Special Defense. This means that it wants to be a tanky Pokemon.
Since Uxie wants to be a tank, use moves like Drain Punch, Giga Drain, Draining Kiss, and Rest (combined with either Sleep Talk or Snore) to keep Uxie healthy during battle while also dealing damage to your foes. For supportive moves, you could use Reflect, Light Screen, Amnesia, Calm Mind, or Heal Bell to help Uxie raise stats or support the team.
- Good bulk to solidify it as a tank
- Nice typing allows it access to good supportive moves that can nullify stat debuffs, heal, or relieve status conditions
- Middle-of-the-road stats everywhere else besides its bulk puts it at a lower spot on the list
58. Azelf (STRONG)
(Transfer from Pokemon HOME)
I wonder what’s got Azlef so spooked?
HP: 75
Attack: 125
Defense: 70
Special Attack: 125
Special Defense: 70
Speed: 115
Azelf is, like its other Lake Trio buddies, a Psychic Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained by transferring it through Pokemon HOME.
Azelf has the ability Levitate, which makes Azelf immune to Ground-type moves. If you haven’t noticed the pattern, each Lake Trio has a unique allocation of stats. Mesprit is the offensive Pokemon out of the three. You can take the Physical or Special route since both Attack and Special Attack respectively are the same.
Azelf wants to use moves like Zen Headbutt, any of the offensive punching moves, Psychic, Shadow Ball, or Thunderbolt to use its offensive stats well. Azelf prefers partners who can set it up to sweep the other team since its bulk is lower than Uxie or Mesprit. Allies who can pass stats would be very beneficial to Azelf.
- Good offenses to make it a sweeper Pokemon
- Psychic typing gives it many moves to utilize to decimate foes
- Needs support from teammates to truly shine
57. Wo-Chien (STRONG)
(Base Game)
Good thing that super effective move didn’t knock Wo-Chien out! That was close!
HP: 85
Attack:85
Defense: 100
Special Attack: 95
Special Defense: 135
Speed: 70
Wo-Chien is a Dark/Grass type Legendary. Wo-Chien is obtainable after collecting all 8 purple stakes on the Eastern side of the [South Province] of the Paldea Region. After collecting the stakes, you will be prompted that a Shrine leading to Wo-Chien has opened.
Its stats are more defensive than offensive so it’s best used as a Special tank. Its ability Tablets of Ruin lowers the Attack of all Pokemon in the field by 25%. This ability doesn’t stack and also grants immunity to opposing Tablets of Ruin.
Some moves to consider are Rest, Reflect, Sleep Talk, and Giga Drain. This set allows Wo-Chien to eat hits while healing itself and setting up protection from Special attacks for its allies. You could also give it a weather move like Sunny Day or Rain Dance to help set up sweepers that do well in harsh sunlight or rain.
- Great Special Defense for a tank
- Good access to support moves like Reflect, Rain Dance, Sunny Day, etc. to help the team perform better
- Cool ability that automatically lowers enemies’ Attack
56. Ting-Lu (STRONG)
(Base Game)
We’ve awoken the sleeping Ting-Lu from its slumber! It doesn’t look too happy…
HP: 155
Attack: 110
Defense: 125
Special Attack: 55
Special Defense: 80
Speed: 45
Ting-Lu is a Dark/Ground-type Legendary. Ting-Lu is obtainable after collecting all 8 green stakes around the Casseroya Lake. After collecting the stakes, you will be prompted that a Shrine for Ting-Lu has opened.
Ting-Lu’s best stats are its Attack and Defense. It wants to be a berserker type of Pokemon that crushes opponents while also stalling them out with its Defense. Its ability Tablets of Ruin lowers the Attack of all Pokemon in the field by 25%. This ability doesn’t stack and also grants immunity to opposing Tablets of Ruin.
For its moves, we could run Earthquake, Body Press, Sandstorm, and Payback. This set is crushing to the opponent’s Pokemon. Sandstorm whips up a blustery sandstorm that does chip damage to the foe every turn. You could switch this out with Stealth Rock if you want chip damage on the foe when they switch in instead. These moves provide good STAB and explosive damage.
- Great Defense and Attack to wall out your opponents
- Awesome ability that lowers Attack stats of foes
- Great access to powerful moves that deal huge damage with high base power
55. Chi-Yu (STRONG)
(Base Game)
How could such a tiny fish do so much damage?
HP: 55
Attack: 80
Defense: 80
Special Attack: 135
Special Defense: 120
Speed: 100
Chi-Yu is a Dark/Fire Legendary Pokemon. It can be found after collecting all 8 blue stakes scattered across the northeasternmost side of the Paldea Region. After collecting them, you’ll get a message saying a shrine to Chi-Yu has opened.
Chi-Yu has the ability Beads of Ruin which lowers the Special Defense stat of all Pokemon in the field by 25%. This Ability does not stack and also grants immunity to opposing Beads of Ruin. Chi-Yu wants to be an offensive Pokemon who sweeps the team with its high Special Attack.
Chi-Yu wants to use moves like Flamethrower, Dark Pulse, Nasty Plot, or Overheat. Chi-Yu does really well with offensive moves, especially if they grant STAB. Although Chi-Yu’s bulk is decent and can survive a hit, it would prefer not to, so having another team member who can support Chi-Yu with buffs would be great.
- Great typing to burn through foes’ defenses
- Awesome ability that automatically lowers foes’ stats in battle
- Needs support to go all-out
54. Chien-Pao (STRONG)
(Base Game)
Chien-Pao looks so menacing! Maybe it’s those giant swords protruding from its mouth?
HP: 80
Attack: 120
Defense: 80
Special Attack: 90
Special Defense: 65
Speed: 135
Chien-Pao is a Dark/Ice Legendary Pokemon. It can be found after collecting all 8 yellow stakes scattered across the Western area of the South Province. After collecting them, you’ll get a message saying a shrine to Chien-Pao has opened.
Chien-Pao has the ability Sword of Ruin which lowers the Defense stat of all Pokemon in the field by 25%. This Ability does not stack and also grants immunity to opposing Sword of Ruin. Its stats are geared toward being a Physical sweeper. Its highAttack and Speed means it's going to hit crazy hard!
Chien-Pao will use moves like Psychic Fangs, Avalanche, Icicle Crash, Sacred Sword, Night Slash, and Crunch. These moves will be powered up by STAB and deal huge damage to the opposing Pokemon. Like any offensive Pokemon, Chien-Pao likes allies who can buff it up and boost its already high offenses.
- High Attack and Speed allow Chien-Pao to be a potent threat
- Good offensive typing gives Chien-Pao access to many hard-hitting moves
- Splendid ability that lowers foes’ stats in battle for easier matchups
53. Fezandipiti (STRONG)
(DLC: Teal Mask)
I never noticed that with its wings closed, it looks like Fezandipiti is wearing a kimono
HP: 88
Attack: 91
Defense: 82
Special Attack: 70
Special Defense: 125
Speed: 99
Fezandipiti is a Poison/Fairy Legendary Pokemon. It can be found after completing the Teal Mask story. Once you do that, Fezandipiti will reappear at Oni Mountain.
Fezandipiti ceremoniously has the same ability as the other two Teal Mask Legendaries, but it wants to use its hidden ability, Technician, more than Toxic Chain. Technician increases the damage of moves with a Base Power less than 60 by 50%. With this in mind, let’s turn Fezandipiti into a Physical attacker. It doesn’t have the raw stats to be an outright sweeper, but it can be something like a late-game cleaner.
Fezandipiti wants to use Physical moves that have a base power less than 60 to take advantage of Technician. Moves like Poison Tail, Aerial Ace, Dual Wingbeat, and Theif are all good options. Some other moves that are outside the threshold of Technician but are still good are Play Rough, U-Turn, Poison Jab, Brave Bird, and Shadow Claw. Fezandipiti is going to want support from stat-boosting support Pokemon to do a good job.
- Good typing that has few weaknesses
- Technician is an awesome offensive ability
- Will need support from teammates to shine well
52. Okidogi (STRONG)
(DLC: Teal Mask)
Okidogi is definitely the coolest of the Teal Mask Trio
HP: 88
Attack: 128
Defense: 115
Special Attack: 58
Special Defense: 86
Speed: 80
Okidogi is a Poison/Fighting Legendary Pokemon. It can be found after beating the Teal Mask story. Okidogi will reappear where you first encountered it at Paradise Barrens.
Okidogi has the ability Toxic Chain, which has a chance to badly poison the opponent when being hit by a move. Its stats are Physically-based, having more Attack and Defense than Special Attack and Special Defense. This puts it in a bruiser role, where it can take a hit and deal hard-hitting blows in retaliation.
Since Okidogi is a bruiser, it’ll like moves such as Psychic Fangs, Gunk Shot, Poison Jab, Ice Punch, Close Combat, and Crunch. Okidogi wants moves that will hit for big damage, so anything that has a base damage of 75 or higher is great.
- Great Attack and Defense to be a bruiser for your team
- Although it has bruiser stats, it has many weaknesses due to its typing so it’s lower than the other Teal Mask Legendaries
- Awesome ability that poisons foes
51. Munkidori (STRONG)
(DLC: Teal Mask)
Not only is its name goofy, but Munkidori itself is just a big ‘ol goofball
HP: 88
Attack: 75
Defense: 66
Special Attack: 130
Special Defense: 90
Speed: 106
Munkidori is a Poison/Psychic Legendary Pokemon. It can be found after completing the Teal Mask story. Once you do that, Munkidori will reappear in the same location in Wisteria Ponds at Wistful Fields.
Munkidori has the same ability as Okidogi, Toxic Chain. Its stats are geared toward being a Special sweeper. It has decent Special Defense if you want to try and make it a Special tank, but this will need some investment and support.
Munkidori wants to use moves like Psychic, Psyshock, Sludge Bomb, and Shadow Ball. It wants to focus on attacking and nothing else since its defenses aren’t the greatest. It’d be best to leave the stat boosts, team support, and healing to other bulkier Pokemon.
- Great ability that has a chance to poison foes on contact
- Great offensive stats to sweep a team
- Good type pairing allows Munkidori to have a good move pool
50. Urshifu (STRONG)
(DLC: Indigo Disk)
Who do you think would win in a fight? Rapid-Strike Style or Single-Strike Style?
HP: 100
Attack: 130
Defense: 100
Special Attack: 63
Special Defense: 60
Speed: 97
Urshifu is one of those Legendaires with multiple forms. The first form is Single-Strike Urshiu. This Urshifu is a Fighting/Dark Legendary Pokemon. The second form is Rapid-Strike Urshifu. This form is a Fighting/Water Legendary Pokemon. What determines Urshifu’s form depends on what scroll you give its pre-evolution, Kubfu. Kubfu can be found in The Indigo Disk DLC post-game by completing quests with an NPC named Snacksworth.
Both forms of Urshifu have the same ability, Unseen Fist. This ability allows Urshifu to deal damage with moves that make physical contact even if the opponent is protected by moves like Protect, Light Screen, Reflect, Detect, etc.
Regardless of which form you choose, their role is going to be the same: hit fast and hit hard. With that in mind, Urshifu will want some powerful moves like Close Combat, Crunch, Darkest Lariat, any of the elemental punching moves, Drain Punch, Wicked Blow (Single-Strike only), and Surging Strike (Rapid-Style only). Urshifu has poor defenses so something like U-Turn could really help get it out of a bad matchup. That, or support it with buffing Pokemon to raise its stats and heal it if necessary.
- Amazing ability that ignores protection moves
- Unique forms depending on item used for evolution
- Superb offensive typings and moves to strike hard
49. Ogerpon (STRONG)
(DLC: Teal Mask)
You know, it doesn’t look as menacing without its mask
HP: 80
Attack:120
Defense: 84
Special Attack: 60
Special Defense: 96
Speed: 110
Ogerpon is another Legendary with unique forms. This time, Ogerpon’s form changes depending on what type of mask it has equipped. Normally, Ogerpon is a pure Grass-type. When it equips a mask, it can change into either Grass/Water (Wellspring Mask), Grass/Fire (Hearthflame Mask), or Grass/Rock (Cornerstone Mask). Ogerpon can be obtained after completing the storyline for the Teal Mask DLC.
Just as its typing changes with each mask, so does its ability. When in base form, Ogerpon has the ability Defiant, which raises its Attack by 2 stages when its stats are lowered. When in Wellspring form, it has the ability Water Absorb, which absorbs Water-type moves and heals Ogerpon. When in Cornerstone form, Ogerpon has the ability Sturdy, which prevents it from being OHKO’d, and leaves it with 1 HP after surviving an otherwise fatal blow. When in Hearthflame form, Ogerpon gets the Mold Breaker ability, which allows Ogerpon’s moves to ignore the abilities of foes.
No matter which form you decide, Ogerpon’s stats don’t change, so its role will mostly be consistent throughout. It’s going to want to be a Physical sweeper with high Attack and Speed. Although, there are some uses for investing in its Special Defense if you want to make it bulkier.
- Unique form changes with each mask that allows for different types
- Different typings allow for unique move pools between forms
- Each form comes with useful abilities that will aid in battle
48. Raikou (POWERFUL)
(DLC: Indigo Disk)
Why do Electric-types look so damn cool??
HP: 90
Attack: 85
Defense: 75
Special Attack: 115
Special Defense: 100
Speed: 115
Raikou is an Electric Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained after completing 10 Solo Blueberry Quests in The Indigo Disk DLC in Pokemon Scarlet to get Raikou’s Legendary Treat from Snacksworth. In Violet, you need to complete 1 Group Blueberry Quest, which is colored gold, to get its Treat. Gold Quests can be completed with other players while being connected in the Union Circle.
Raikou would rather use its hidden ability Inner Focus, which prevents it from flinching. Just like its elemental typing, Raikou is as quick as lightning! It prefers striking its opponents with its high Special Attack and outspeeding them with its high Speed.
Raikou wants to use moves like Rising Voltage, Thunderbolt, Volt Switch, Aura Sphere, Shadow Ball, Agility, Charge, or Magnet Rise. Since Raikou‘s Special Defense is pretty high, it can be relatively safe to set up without any dedicated support partners. It can eat a hit while using Charge or Magnet Rise then retaliate with huge electric power! If you want to really deal some damage, have a support Pokemon who has Electric Terrain to boost Raikou‘s Electric moves even further.
- Good offensive stats to make it a good sweeper
- Nice single typing that only has one weakness
- Prefers support to set up but can do it alone
47. Entei (POWERFUL)
(DLC: Indigo Disk)
Anyone remember how badass Entei was in that one movie?
HP: 115
Attack: 115
Defense: 85
Special Attack: 90
Special Defense: 75
Speed: 100
Entei is a Fire Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained after you complete 10 Solo Blueberry Quests in Pokemon Scarlet or 1 Group Blueberry Quest in Pokemon Violet and get an Entei Treat from Snacksworth. Entei will appear on the cliff in the eastern part of East Province (Area Three).
Entei wants to use its hidden ability Inner Focus, which prevents it from flinching. Its stats are geared for attacking with its high Attack and Speed.
Entei wants to use moves like Flame Charge, Sacred Fire, Crunch, Bulldoze, Extremespeed, and Overheat. Since Entei’s defenses aren’t as high as Raikou’s, it’s best to use a dedicated support Pokemon. With the support, it will give Entei buffs, healing, and cripple the opponent so Entei can focus on raw power to incinerate its foes.
- Good offensive typing that can focus on either Physical or Special moves
- Low bulk means it might need a support partner if you want to enhance Entei’s performance even more
- Singular Fire typing is good because it has few weaknesses and is offensively powerful
46. Suicune (POWERFUL)
(DLC: Indigo Disk)
Who’s Team Suicune? Me!
HP: 100
Attack: 75
Defense: 115
Special Attack: 90
Special Defense: 115
Speed: 85
Suicune is a Water Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained after you complete 10 Solo Blueberry Quests in Pokemon Scarlet or 1 Group Blueberry Quest in Pokemon Violet and get a Suicune Treat from Snacksworth. Suicune will be at Casseroya Lake.
Suicune, like its other Dog Trio companions, wants its hidden ability Inner Focus. Unlike the others though, Suicune wants to be a tank. It has higher Defense and Special Defense compared to its Attack and Special Attack.
Being a tank, Suicune wants to use moves like Protect, Reflect, Rest combined with Sleep Talk, Toxic, and Calm Mind. As for offensive moves, Suicune can use Hydro Pump, Ice Beam, Scald, and Snarl. And because Suicune is bulkier than the other Dog Trio Legendaries, it can easily set up to help out its teammates with moves like Rain Dance, Toxic, Roar, Mist, Snowscape, Sunny Day, and Tailwind.
- Great bulk makes it a good tank
- Strong typing with few weaknesses makes it an easy pick for a tanky role
- Versatile move pool allows it to be defensive and supportive at the same time
45. Enamorus (POWERFUL)
(Transfer From Pokemon HOME)
Why does this thing looks so alien-like? And what’s with the snake??
Base Form: Therian Form:
HP: 74 HP: 74
Attack:115 Attack: 115
Defense: 70 Defense: 110
Special Attack: 135 Special Attack: 135
Special Defense: 80 Special Defense: 100
Speed: 106 Speed: 46
Enamorus is a Fairy/Flying Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained by transferring it from another game through Pokemon HOME. Enamorus has a Therian Form with slight stat variations from its Base Form. It trades its Speed for more Defense and Special Defense.
Enamorus would prefer its hidden ability Contrary, which makes moves that buff stats now debuff and vice versa. Its Therian Form has the ability Overcoat, which makes Enamorus immune to powder moves, Sandstorm damage, and Spore. Enamorus’ stats imply that it wants to use its high Special Attack and Speed to be an offensive sweeper. Its Therian Form is more geared towards being a bruiser with poor Speed.
Enamorus wants to use Special-based offensive moves such as Draining Kiss, Moonblast, Springtime Storm, Play Rough, Psychic, Sludge Bomb, or Mystical Fire. Enamorus is not a bulky Pokemon so watch out for Pokemon with type advantages over it. It’d be helpful to have a Pokemon set up Misty Terrain to power up Enamorus’ Fairy-type moves.
- Two forms with varying stat allocations that differentiate them
- Unique ability that can turn the tide of battle if Enamorus’ stats are lowered
- Fairy-type has many offensive moves and deals massive damage to Dragon-types
44. Thundurus (POWERFUL)
(Transfer From Pokemon HOME)
Feel the wrath of Thundurus!
Base Form: Therian Form:
HP: 100 HP: 79
Attack:80 Attack: 105
Defense: 80 Defense: 70
Special Attack: 80 Special Attack: 145
Special Defense: 80 Special Defense: 80
Speed: 111 Speed: 101
Thundurus is an Electric/Flying Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained by transferring it from Pokemon HOME. Thundurus also has a Therian Form. This form varies slightly from Base Form Thundurus in that it puts more stats into Special Attack rather than Attack.
Thundurus has the ability Defiant, which raises its Attack by 2 stages for each of its stats that are lowered. This is a crazy ability with huge damage potential. Speaking of stats, Thundurus wants to put its high offense to good use. Since its Attack and Special Attack are so similar, you could make Thundurus either a Physical or Special attacker, and the outcome will be just as devastating. The same goes for its Therian form, the game plan doesn’t change much.
Thundurus wants to use moves like Supercell Slam, Lash Out, Thunder Punch, or Brick Break. Since Thundurus isn’t much of a tank, it’ll want to use U-Turn to switch out of unfavorable matchups. It’ll also appreciate a setup Pokemon to aid in its destruction. Keep in mind though, Defiant doesn’t trigger with self-inflicted stat debuffs, even from an ally.
- Good offensive stat spread for attacking hard and fast
- Therian Form makes it even better at attacking
- Huge potential for sweeping foes with Defiant
43. Tornadus (POWERFUL)
(Transfer From Pokemon HOME)
It would’ve been cool if it was part Poison type ammiright?
Base Form: Therian Form:
HP: 79 HP: 79
Attack:115 Attack: 100
Defense: 70 Defense: 80
Special Attack: 125 Special Attack: 110
Special Defense: 80 Special Defense: 90
Speed: 111 Speed: 121
Tornadus is a Flying Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained by transferring it from another game through Pokemon HOME. Tornadus also has a Therian Form that has slight stat variations from its Base Form, but generally, it doesn’t change how Tornadus will function.
Tornadus has the ability Defiant, which raises its Attack by 2 stages for each of its stats that are lowered. Its Therian Form has the ability Regenerator, which restores ⅓ of its max HP when it switches out. Just like Thundurus, both forms of Tornadus want to use their high offensive stats to take huge chunks out of the foe’s HP.
Tornadus wants to use moves like Air Cutter, Air Slash, Heat Wave, Hurricane, Icy Wind, Crunch, Lash Out, or U-Turn. These moves will help Tornadus take on a variety of Pokemon with ease, especially if you put a support Pokemon on your team that can buff Tornadus up.
- Good offensive stats make it a force to be reckoned with
- Single typing makes it stronger because of fewer weaknesses overall
- Can use both Physical or Special moves because of similar Attack and Special Attack stats respectively
42. Landorus (POWERFUL)
(Transfer From Pokemon HOME)
Geez all the Oni Legnedaries look so scary!
Base Form: Therian Form:
HP: 89 HP: 89
Attack:125 Attack: 145
Defense: 90 Defense: 90
Special Attack: 115 Special Attack: 105
Special Defense: 80 Special Defense: 80
Speed: 101 Speed: 91
Landorus is a Ground/Flying Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained by transferring it from another game through Pokemon HOME. And just like its Genie companions, Landorus also has a Therian Form that has slight stat variations from its Base Form.
Landorus wants to use its hidden ability Sheer Force, which boosts moves with secondary effects by 30%, but those secondary effects are nullified. Its Therian Form has the ability Intimidate, which lowers the Attack of foes when it switches in.
Landurus wants to use Physical-based moves like Earthquake, Bulldoze, Rock Slide, Stone Edge, or U-Turn. With its lower bulk, Landurus will want a reliable way to escape, while also having moves with additional effects to take full use of Sheer Force.
- Awesome ability that makes it a force to be reckoned with
- Nice offensive typing that compliments its playstyle
- Good offensive stat spread allows it to hit like a truck
41. Regieleki (POWERFUL)
(Transfer From Pokemon HOME)
Even though its name is ridiculous, that form isn’t!
HP: 80
Attack: 100
Defense: 50
Special Attack: 100
Special Defense: 50
Speed: 200
Regieleki is an Electric-type Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained by transferring it through Pokemon HOME.
Regieleki has the ability Transistor, which raises its offensive stat (Attack/Special Attack, whichever is being used by the move) by 30% while using Electric moves. Its stats are rather strange with Speed being abnormally high compared to its other stats. It definitely wants to strike quickly, with it taking the role as either a Physcial or Special sweeper depending on your preference.
Regieleki can use either Physical or Special moves depending on which role you want it to take. Moves like Supercell Slam, Thunderbolt, Wild Charge, Thunder Cage, Extremespeed, Charge Beam, Ancient Power, and Electroweb are all moves to consider. Don’t try to use stat boosting moves or status moves with Regieleki because that is just wasted turns that could be used for attacking. Regieleki has bad defenses, so having a dedicated support/tank to do those things will help keep Regieleki focused on striking with blinding quickness.
- Blisteringly high Speed
- Average to bad stats everywhere else
- Cool ability that powers up any Electric moves used
40. Regidrago (POWERFUL)
(Transfer From Pokemon HOME)
Okay, this one looks ridiculous… it has a Charizard head as an arm!
HP: 200
Attack: 100
Defense: 50
Special Attack: 100
Special Defense: 50
Speed: 80
Regidrago is a Dragon-type Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained through transferring from Pokemon HOME.
Regidrago has the ability Dragon’s Maw which raises its offensive stat (Attack/Special Attack, whichever is being used by the move) by 30% while using Dragon moves. Its stats are also very strange. What is with these new Regis and having one stat that is crazy high? This time, its HP is massive, with every other stat being just average. I would say to make it a tank because of that chunky HP stat, but its defenses are very poor, so I’d suggest making it an attacker.
Regidrago wants to use offensive moves that will be boosted by Dragon’s Maw. Moves like Dragon Energy, Outrage, Dragon Pulse, and Dragon Claw are all good Dragon moves that will be boosted by Regidrago’s ability. Other options could be Hammer Arm, Body Slam, Crunch, or any of the elemental biting moves. One move I would strongly suggest is Dragon Dance because it raises both Attack and Speed by 1 stage, making Regidrago’s sweeping ability that much more potent.
- Super high HP stat
- Strong ability that boosts its offensive Dragon-type moves
- Average to middling stats besides HP
39. Galarian Moltres (POWERFUL)
(Transfer From Pokemon HOME)
Now that Moltres has a Galarian variant, it turned into burnt flaming chicken!
HP: 90
Attack: 85
Defense: 90
Special Attack: 100
Special Defense: 125
Speed: 90
Galarian Moltres (shortened to G-Moltres) is a Dark/Flying Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained through transferring from Pokemon HOME.
G-Moltres has the ability Berserk, which raises its Special Attack by 1 stage when it reaches 1/2 or less of its max HP. G-Moltres wants to be a Special attacker with its decent Special Attack and average Speed for a Legendary.
G-Moltres wants to use moves like Dark Pulse, Fiery Wrath, Snarl, Brave Bird, or Lash Out. Keep the plan simple: mix and match good, high power STAB moves and devastate your foes. Since its bulk is lackluster, G-Moltres wants support from Pokemon who can either buff it up or debuff the enemy.
- Great offensive typing makes G-Moltres a good attacker
- Great ability that gives it a stat boost after hitting 50% or less HP
- G-Moltres has many common weaknesses that can be alieviatd by having a dedicated tank on the team to switch in on unfavorable matchups
38. Galarian Zapdos (POWERFUL)
(Transfer From Pokemon HOME)
Galarian Zapdos looks pretty cool, I have to admit. An upgrade from its original
HP: 90
Attack: 125
Defense: 90
Special Attack: 85
Special Defense: 90
Speed: 100
G-Zapdos is a Fighting/Flying Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained through transferring from Pokemon HOME.
G-Zapdos has the ability Defiant, which raises its Attack by 2 stages for each of its stats that are lowered. With that in mind, it wants to use its high Attack and Speed to strike first and KO the opposing Pokemon.
G-Zapdos will use Physical moves like Brave Bird, Drill Peck, Dual Wingbeat, Close Combat, Thunderous Kick, and U-Turn. G-Zapdos will love any moves that lower its stats, whether self-inflicted or coming from the enemy Pokemon. It also wants to keep U-Turn in mind to avoid sticky situations that could result in its demise.
- Great ability that boosts its damage output
- Nice offensive typing allows for impactful damage to foes
- Would appreciate set up Pokemon who can pass stats, buffs, and even favorable weather conditions
37. Galarian Articuno (POWERFUL)
(Transfer From Pokemon HOME)
Galarian Articuno is my favorite of the Galar Bird Legendaries! Looks so spooky! OOooOO!
HP: 90
Attack: 85
Defense: 85
Special Attack: 125
Special Defense: 100
Speed: 85
G-Articuno is a Psychic/Flying Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained through transferring from Pokemon HOME.
G-Articuno has the ability Competetive, which raises its Special Attack by 2 stages for each of its stats that are lowered. Because of this, you’ll want to focus on its offenses, but if you want, it is possible to invest in its Special Defense.
G-Articuno wants to use moves that complement its Special Attack. Moves like Air Slash, Psychic, Expanding Force, Freezing Glare, Hurricane, and Shadow Ball are some examples of good Special moves. Since G-Articuno has decent bulk, you could use status moves like Reflect, Recover, and Light Screen to protect itself and its team from damage.
- Nice stats geared towards Special damage, but can use its Special Defense to eat a hit
- Good ability that raises its offenses when its stats are lowered
- Being a Fighting-type means it will have good access to offensive moves that will land with intensity
36. Terrakion (POWERFUL)
(DLC: Indigo Disk)
Oh Terrakion! What big… uh ears(?) you have
HP: 91
Attack: 129
Defense: 90
Special Attack: 72
Special Defense: 90
Speed: 108
Terrakion is a Rock/Fighting Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained after you complete 10 Solo Blueberry Quests in Pokemon Violet or 1 Group Blueberry Quest in Pokemon Scarlet and get a Terrakion Treat from Snacksworth. Terrakion will be on a cliff southeast of Cascarrafa.
Terrakion has the ability Justified, which raises its Attack by 1 stage after being hit by a Dark-type move. Despite being a Rock type, it has high Attack and Speed and lower bulk, so it wants to be a Physical Attacker.
Terrakion wants to use moves like Rock Slide, Stone Edge, Earthquake, Brick Break, Close Combat, Sacred Sword, and Superpower. These moves have high base power and get boosted when Justified activates. It’s also possible to give it some status moves since its bulk isn’t horrible. Moves like Rock Polish, Stealth Rock, Laser Focus, Safeguard, and Swords Dance.
- Good Attack and Speed to make it a good offensive threat
- Great offensive typing allows for access to powerful moves
- Great ability that raises offenses, but slightly debilitating because it requires a specific type to activate it
35. Virizion (POWERFUL)
(DLC: Indigo Disk)
Does anyone actually like Virizion?
HP: 91
Attack: 90
Defense: 72
Special Attack: 90
Special Defense: 129
Speed: 108
Virizion is a Grass/Fighting Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained after you complete 10 Solo Blueberry Quests in Pokemon Violet or 1 Group Blueberry Quest in Pokemon Scarlet and get a Virizion Treat from Snacksworth. Virizion will be on the northern part of Tagtree Thicket.
Virizion also has the ability Justified. Its stats are geared toward being a speedy tank, with its Special Defense and Speed being its highest stats. Its offenses aren’t bad either, so you could make it an offensive hitter if you wanted.
Virizion is going to be a tank, so moves like Calm Mind, Swords Dance, Work Up, Rest combined with Sleep Talk, Light Screen, or Reflect work. It wants to absorb hits and possibly be a support Pokemon for the team. For offensive moves, you could use Leaf Storm, Magical Leaf, Giga Drain, Leaf Blade, Brick Break, Close Combat, Sacred Sword, or Superpower.
- Good Special Defense makes it an excellent tank
- Good ability that raises its offenses
- Average stats everywhere that isn’t Special Defense or Speed
34. Cobalion (POWERFUL)
(DLC: Indigo Disk)
Man does Cobalion look so cool! The nice cool blue and the antlers just does it for me
HP: 91
Attack: 90
Defense: 120
Special Attack: 90
Special Defense: 72
Speed: 108
Cobalion is a Steel/Fighting Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained after you complete 10 Solo Blueberry Quests in Pokemon Violet or 1 Group Blueberry Quest in Pokemon Scarlet and get a Cobalion Treat from Snacksworth. Cobalion will be on a cliff southwest of the Fury Falls fast travel point in North Province (Area Two).
Cobalion also has the ability Justified. Its stats lean towards Defense and Speed, so like Virizion, it wants to tank. Cobalion will be a Physical-based tank instead of a Special-based one.
Cobalion will want moves that compliment its role as a tank. Some moves to consider would be Iron Defense, Rock Polish, Calm Mind, Rest combined with Sleep Talk, Safeguard, Swords Dance, or Magnet Rise. For offensive options, Cobalion can use Flash Cannon, Steel Beam, Iron Head, Brick Break, Close Combat, Sacred Sword, or Superpower. Just like Virizion, Cobalion can set up without fear of dying instantly from the opponent just breathing on it, so no worries there.
- High Defense and Speed give it an edge as a tank
- Great offensive typing gives it access to high-power moves
- Can use either Physical or Special moves as its offensive stats are the same
33. Glastrier (POWERFUL)
(DLC: Indigo Disk)
This thing reminds me of that ice horse from Frozen 2
HP: 100
Attack: 145
Defense: 130
Special Attack: 65
Special Defense: 110
Speed: 30
Glastrier is an Ice-type Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained after you complete 10 Solo Blueberry Quests in Scarlet, or 1 Group Blueberry Quest in Pokemon Violet and get a Glastrier Treat from Snacksworth. Glastrier will be at the snowy ruins found near the Glaseado Gym in Glaseado Mountain.
Glastrier has the ability Chilling Neigh, which raises its Attack by 1 stage if it KO’s a Pokemon. Its stats also complement this ability because its Attack is very high. It also has good bulk too.
Glastrier wants to focus on killing power. With that in mind, Glastrier could use moves like Avalanche, Icicle Crash, Icicle Spear, Outrage, Crunch, Lash Out, and High Horsepower. Since Glastrier’s bulk is pretty high, you could also give it some status moves that can boost its stats or debilitate the enemy. Things like Iron Defense, Swords Dance, Hail, or Mist are all good options.
- Great ability that compliments its high Attack
- Typing holds it back on the list since it has so many weaknesses
- Good move pool with access to many powerful moves with huge damage potential
32. Spectrier (POWERFUL)
(DLC: Indigo Disk)
Ghost horse? What’s not to like? Other than it kind of looks like something out of My Little Pony
HP: 100
Attack: 65
Defense: 60
Special Attack: 145
Special Defense: 80
Speed: 130
Spectrier is a Ghost Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained after you complete 10 Solo Blueberry Quests in Violet, or 1 Group Blueberry Quest in Pokemon Scarlet and get a Glastrier Treat from Snacksworth. Spectrier will be near the secluded ruins found near the Dalizapa Passage Center.
Spectrier has the ability Grim Neigh, which raises its Special Attack by 1 stage if it KO’s a Pokemon. Its stats are geared towards being a Special sweeper with a high Special Attack and serviceable Speed.
Spectrier wants to use moves that deal high damage like Shadow Ball, Dark Pulse, Foul Play, Phantom Force, or Psycho Cut. If you wanted, you could invest heavily in its defenses to make it more of a wall that stalls out opponent Pokemon, but it will take dedication to get Spectrier to that level.
- Great ability that raises its offenses once it KO’s a Pokemon
- Limited Special moves, so that’s a detriment to its high Special Attack
- Great typing that has few weaknesses
31. Calyrex (POWERFUL)
(Transfer from Pokemon HOME)
How does that tiny bunny balance with that bulbous thing on its head??
Base Form: Ice Rider Form: Shadow Rider Form:
HP: 100 HP: 100 HP: 100
Attack:80 Attack: 165 Attack: 85
Defense: 80 Defense: 150 Defense: 80
Special Attack: 80 Special Attack: 85 Special Attack: 165
Special Defense: 80 Special Defense: 130 Special Defense: 100
Speed: 80 Speed: 50 Speed: 150
Calyrex is a Psychic/Grass Legendary. It has no evolutions, but it does have 2 forms it can take on. Calyrex can change forms when paired with either Glastrier or Spectrier with the Reins of Unity item to change into either Ice Rider Calyrex or Shadow Rider Calyrex respectively.
It has balanced stats when in its base form, but when it fuses with Glastrier or Spectrier, it gains additional stats, as well as type changes. Ice Rider Calyrex changes to Psychic/Ice and Shadow Rider Calyrex changes to Psychic/Ghost.
Calyrex also merges its ability with Glastrier’s or Spectrier’s when fused. Both abilities change to As One, but they do different things depending on what form Calyrex is. For Ice Rider, As One prevents foes from using Berries and raises its Attack by 1 stage if it KO’s its foe. When in Shadow Rider Form, As One prevents foes from using Berries and raises its Special Attack by 1 stage if it KO’s its foe.
Both forms of Calyrex want to wreck defensive wall Pokemon. Their superior offenses make them formidable opponents to pierce through tanks. Moves like Ice Lance for Ice Rider and Astral Barrage for Shadow Rider are awesome moves that pack a huge punch. Both forms have great coverage and access to a large move pool to deal massive damage to the enemy Pokemon.
- Unique pairing of Calyrex and Glastrier/Spectrier creates a new ability that fuses both their original abilities into one powerful ability
- Great move pool coverage allows them to take full advantage of their offensive stats
- Great stat lines that favor offensive maneuvers
30. Walking Wake (POWERFUL)
(Limited Time Tera Raids)
Which Suicune do you like better?
HP: 99
Attack: 93
Defense: 91
Special Attack: 125
Special Defense: 83
Speed: 109
Walking Wake is a Water/Dragon Legendary. Unfortunately, Walking Wake is a limited Pokemon and can’t be found naturally in the game. It was available in Tera Raids earlier in 2023 in Scarlet games. If you want this rare Pokemon now, you’ll have to trade it with people who have Scarlet or wait for a rerun of the Tera Raid event.
Walking Wake has the ability Protosynthesis, which increases its highest stat by 30% when Sunny Day is up or when holding a Booster Energy. If Walking Wake's Speed stat is the highest, it's increased by 50% instead of 30%. The game plan is simple: hit hard and fast and overwhelm the opponent with destructive attacks.
Walking Wake can use moves like Hydro Steam, Draco Meteor, Dragon Breath, Dragon Pulse, Flamethrower, Agility, or Dragon Dance. You can choose to include it in weather-based teams or equip it with an Energy Booster to activate its ability Protosynthesis and enhance its stellar stats even further.
- Hyper-offensive role with good offensive stats
- Cool ability that allows it to work in Sunny Day weather teams
- Good move pool and Dragon typing help it be an offensive powerhosue
29. Iron Leaves (POWERFUL)
(Limited Time Tera Raids)
A nice juxtaposition: Future Pokemon in nature
HP: 90
Attack: 130
Defense: 88
Special Attack: 70
Special Defense: 108
Speed: 104
Iron Leaves is a Grass/Psychic Legendary Pokemon. It was available in Tera Raids earlier in 2023 in Violet games. If you want this rare Pokemon now, you’ll have to trade it with people who have Violet or wait for a rerun of the Tera Raid event.
Iron Leaves has the ability Quark Drive. This ability increases its highest stat by 30% when Electric Terrain is up or when holding a Booster Energy. If Iron Leaves’ Speed stat is the highest, it's increased by 50% instead of 30%. This ability is awesome for a physically offensive Pokemon like Iron Leaves to deal more damage with an increased Attack stat.
For its moves, Iron Leaves could use Leaf Blade, Swords Dance, Psyblade, Close Combat, Calm Mind, Sacred Sword, or Wild Charge. Since its defenses aren’t bad at all, you could give it some setup moves like Iron Defense, Gravity, Agility, or Work Up.
- Great offenses that play into its role as a sweeper well
- Awesome ability that is easy to trigger and gives extra stats to Iron Leaves’ strongest stat
- Access to good Physical Grass moves helps in dealing damage
28. Gouging Fire (POWERFUL)
(DLC: Indigo Disk)
I guess Entei went on a vacation to the tropics
HP: 105
Attack: 115
Defense: 121
Special Attack: 65
Special Defense: 93
Speed: 91
Gouging Fire is a Fire/Dragon Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained once you register 200 Pokemon in the Blueberry Pokedex and help Perrin. It can then be found near a waterfall that is near Research Area 3 in Area Zero (you must have The Indigo Disk DLC). Gouging Fire is a Scarlet-exclusive Legendary, so Violet players will have to trade if they want one.
Gouging Fire has the ability Protosynthesis which increases its highest stat by 30% when Sunny Day is up or when holding a Booster Energy. If Gouging Flire's Speed stat is the highest, it's increased by 50% instead of 30%. Its stats lean towards being a brusier that can dish out high damage.
Gouging Fire likes moves that complement its Attack, so moves like Flare Blitz, Heat Crash, Earthquake, Dragon Claw, Dragon Rush, and Dragon Dance are perfect. You could also give it more defensive moves like Morning Sun, Sunny Day, Rest, Sleep Talk, or Roar.
- Great offensive typing that gives it access to a plethora of high-damage moves
- Great ability that boosts its highest stat significantly
- Has high Defense, so it isn’t as frail as other high Attack sweepers
27. Raging Bollt (POWERFUL)
(DLC: Indigo Disk)
I still don’t get why it looks like a giraffe…
HP: 125
Attack: 73
Defense: 91
Special Attack: 137
Special Defense: 89
Speed: 75
Raging Bolt is a Dragon/Electric Legendary Pokemon. You can only encounter and catch it once you register 200 Pokemon in the Blueberry Pokedex and help Perrin. Raging Bolt is found near Research Area 3 in Area Zero (you must have The Indigo Disk DLC). Raging Bolt is a Scarlet-exclusive Legendary, so Violet players will have to trade if they want one.
Raging Bolt has the ability Protosynthesis, which increases its highest stat by 30% when Sunny Day is up or when holding a Booster Energy. If Raging Bolt's Speed stat is the highest, it's increased by 50% instead of 30%. Raging Bolt wants to hit hard with its huge Special Attack, and it has some survivability with its serviceable bulk.
Raging Bolt wants to devastate its enemies with Special moves like Thunderclap, Dragon Pulse, Draco Meteor, Thunderbolt, Ancient Power, Outrage, Thunder, or Volt Switch. Because of Raging Bolt’s ability, Protosynthesis, it fits snugly on weather teams that utilize Sunny Day (it can also fit on other weather teams too). And with its decent bulk, it can take a hit to set up any buffs or terrain if needed.
- High Special Attack means its going to hit like a truck
- Awesome ability that automatically raises its highest stat
- Stellar offensive typing gives it few weaknesses and a powerful move pool
26. Iron Boulder (POWERFUL)
(DLC: Indigo Disk)
I don’t know about you, but I’m diggin’ the Future Paradox Pokeomn more than the Past ones
HP: 90
Attack: 120
Defense: 80
Special Attack: 68
Special Defense: 108
Speed: 124
Iron Boulder is a Rock/Fighting Legendary Pokemon. It can be found below Research Area 2 in Area Zero after registering 200 Pokemon in the Blueberry Pokedex and helping Perrin (you must have The Indigo Disc DLC). Iron Boulder is a Violet-exclusive Legendary, so Scarlet players will have to trade if they want one.
Iron Boulder has the ability Quark Drive which increases its highest stat by 30% when Electric Terrain is up or when holding a Booster Energy. If Iron Boulder’s Speed stat is the highest, it's increased by 50% instead of 30%. You’d think being a giant hunk of metal would make it a slow Pokemon, but it's actually the opposite! Iron Boulder wants to be a fast bruiser With its high Attack, Special Defense, and Speed.
Iron Boulder wants to use its high Attack to crush opponents. Moves like Mighty Cleave, Brick Break, Close Combat, Earthquake, Sacred Sword, and Meteor Beam work well with Iron Boulder. Since it has good Special Defense, you could use other defensive moves like Agility, Iron Defense, Rest combined with Sleep Talk, Sandstorm, and Swords Dance to buff itself up while still eating hits from Special attackers.
- Great stats intended to tank and retaliate with huge power
- Awesome ability that automatically raises its highest stat
- Poor typing gives it many weaknesses
25. Iron Crown (POWERFUL)
(DLC: Indigo Disk)
What’s better than normal Cobalion? Cobalion but METAL
HP: 90
Attack:72
Defense: 100
Special Attack: 122
Special Defense: 108
Speed: 98
Iron Crown is a Steel/Psychic Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained once you register 200 Pokemon in the Blueberry Pokedex and help Perrin. It's located near a cliff near the main entrance of Area Zero (you must have The Indigo Disk DLC). Iron Crown is a Violet-exclusive Legendary, so Scarlet players will have to trade if they want one.
Iron Crown has the ability Quark Drive which increases its highest stat by 30% when Electric Terrain is up or when holding a Booster Energy. If Iron Crown’s Speed stat is the highest, it's increased by 50% instead of 30%. Its stats are also geared towards being a bruiser who can tank a hit and clap back with scary potency.
Iron Crown will punish its foes with its high Special Attack with moves like Flash Cannon, Psychic, Psychic Noise, Psyshock, Steel Beam, and Tachyon Cutter. Because of its high Special Defense, it can take a hit from Special moves while setting itself up with Calm Mind, Gravity, Metal Sound, or Swords Dance.
- Great typing gives it access to a variety of powerful Steel and Psychic-type moves
- Great ability that automatically raises its highest stat
- Has a versatile stat spread that can be invested in to sweep or tank
24. Latias (VERY POWERFUL)
(DLC: Indigo Disk)
I feel like Latias is the younger of the Eon twins
HP: 80
Attack: 80
Defense: 90
Special Attack: 110
Special Defense: 130
Speed: 110
Latias is a Dragon/Psychic Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained after completing 10 Solo Blueberry Quests in The Indigo Disk DLC in Pokemon Violet to get Latias’ Legendary Treat from Snacksworth. In Scarlet, you need to complete 1 Group Blueberry Quest to get its Treat.
Latias has the ability Leviatate which makes it immune to Ground-type attacks and can’t be damaged by Spikes. Latias wants to use its Special Attack and Speed to be a sweeper. It also has a high Special Defense, so you could invest in it to make it more tanky.
Latias wants to use its high Special Attack to swoop in with moves like Psychic, Psyshock, Mist Ball, Ice Beam, Shadow Ball, Thunderbolt, Draco Meteor, or Dragon Pulse. Since Latias has high bulk, it could be reasonable to set itself or its allies up safely. Moves like Agility, Calm Mind, Healing Wish, Light Screen, Reflect, Baton Pass, Recover, Safeguard, Wish, Defog, Tailwind, or Sunny Day are all good support moves.
- Great stats that are versatile for most roles besides Physical sweeper
- Immune to Ground-types, a major weakness to Latias
- Access to both offensive and defensive moves
23. Latios (VERY POWERFUL)
(DLC: Indigo Disk)
Is Latios my favorite of the two Eon twins because my favorite color is blue? Maybe…
HP: 80
Attack:90
Defense: 80
Special Attack: 130
Special Defense: 110
Speed: 110
Latios is a Dragon/Psychic Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained after completing 10 Solo Blueberry Quests in The Indigo Disk DLC in Pokemon Scarlet to get Latias’ Legendary Treat from Snacksworth. In Violet, you need to complete 1 Group Blueberry Quest to get its Treat.
Latios has the ability Leviatate which makes it immune to Ground-type attacks and can’t be damaged by Spikes. Latios’ stats are similar to Latias’ with slight variations here and there, but generally, the roles they play are the same.
For variation’s sake, we’ll make Latios fill a more tanky, defensive role compared to its red counterpart. With that in mind, Latios wants moves like Agility, Calm Mind, Light Screen, Reflect, Baton Pass, Recover, Safeguard, Defog, Tailwind, Sunny Day, or Sandstorm. For offensive options, Latios would appreciate moves like Psychic, Psyshock, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Solar Beam, Mystical Fire, Draco Meteor, Dragon Breath, or Dragon Pulse.
- Good stat spread that can be tailored for any role
- Plentiful moves to choose from to handle most threats
- Ground immunity is handy since it’s one of Latios’ weaknesses
22. Groudon (VERY POWERFUL)
(DLC: Indigo Disk)
Even as a toy, Groudon looks menacing and powerful!
HP: 100
Attack: 150
Defense: 140
Special Attack: 100
Special Defense: 90
Speed: 90
Groudon is a Ground-type Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained after completing 10 Solo Blueberry Quests in The Indigo Disk DLC in Pokemon Scarlet to get its Legendary Treat from Snacksworth. In Violet, you need to complete 1 Group Blueberry Quest to get its Treat. Groudon is located in the cave west of Alfornada, then keep going straight while flying across the gap to reach the platform where Groudon is located.
Groudon has the ability Drought, which changes the weather to Harsh Sunlight for 5 turns. Groudon’s stats are relatively balanced so it can fit many roles. We’ll give it the role of a Physical sweeper this time since its Attack is its highest stat.
Groudon will melt its enemies with its sky-high Attack. It can use moves like Earthquake, High Horsepower, Fire Punch, Brick Break, Hammer Arm, Thunder Punch, Dragon Claw, or Crunch to deal huge damage to its foes. With its ability Drought, I’d suggest at least 1 Fire-type move to take advantage of the boosted power that the Harsh Sunlight gives to Fire-type moves. Also, Solar Beam could be another option since it doesn’t need to be charged. Groudon works well in weather teams and they benefit from the Harsh Sunlight it provides.
- Simple but awesome ability to help Sunny Day teams set up to be a strong team
- Strong statline that can be used in a variety of ways since it is relatively balanced
- Ground isn’t the best type to be because of how common its weaknesses are
21. Kyogre (VERY POWERFUL)
(DLC: Indigo Disk)
Of course the Lord of the Seas is a giant whale! What did you expect?
HP: 100
Attack: 100
Defense: 90
Special Attack: 150
Special Defense: 140
Speed: 90
Kyogre is a Water Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained after completing 10 Solo Blueberry Quests in The Indigo Disk DLC in Pokemon Violet to get its Legendary Treat from Snacksworth. In Scarlet, you need to complete 1 Group Blueberry Quest to get its Treat. Kyogre will be in the water near the three stone pillars close to Groundblight Shrine in the North Paldean Sea.
Kyogre has the ability Drizzle, which changes the weather to Rain for five turns. Similar to Groudon, its stats are relatively balanced, but its stand-out stats are its Special Attack and Special Defense. It wants to be a Special attacker who can also soak up (ha, get it?) Special moves when needed with no worries.
Kyogre wants to use moves like Brine, Hydro Pump, Origin Pulse, Scald, Water Spout, Ancient Power, Ice Beam, and Thunderbolt to overpower its foes. Since Kyogre has bulk, it can use a move slot to set itself or the team up with moves like Aqua Ring, Calm Mind, Toxic, or Safeguard.
- High Special Attack lends itself well to the sweeper archetype
- Has good bulk too, so it can absorb hits well
- Just like Groudon, it fits nicely on weather teams that want rain
20. Heatran (VERY POWERFUL)
(Transfer From Pokemon HOME)
Does anyone know what the heck Heatran is? And why is it so ugly?
HP: 91
Attack: 90
Defense: 106
Special Attack: 130
Special Defense: 106
Speed: 77
Heatran is a Fire/Steel Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained by transferring it through Pokemon HOME.
Heatran has the ability Flash Fire, which increases the damage from Fire-type moves by 50% if hit with a Fire-type move. Once activated the user becomes immune to Fire-type attacks. With its stat spread, Heatran wants to be a Special Attack sweeper.
Heatran wants to use its Special Attack to crush its foes. Moves like Flash Cannon, Steel Beam, Solar Beam, Burning Jealousy, Eruption, Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Magma Storm, and Dark Pulse are all good offensive options for Heatran. - Coool ability that boosts its own Fire moves and gives it immunity

Since Slow Start inhibits it's offensive prowess for its first 5 turns, let's take advantage of the stats that aren't lowered instead. This makes Regigigas a formidable Physical tank that only has 1 Fighting-type weakness to deal with. Regigigas wants to use moves like Drain Punch, Substitute, Darkest Lariat, any of the elemental punches, Block, Protect, Rest combined with Sleep Talk, Safeguard, Sunny Day, Toxic, or Wide Guard. These moves are perfect for sustain, survivabilty, healing, and support for itself and the team.

- Versatile statspread allows it to fill many roles
13. Giratina (VERY POWERFUL)

Attack:100 Attack: 120
Defense: 120 Defense: 100
Special Attack: 100 Special Attack: 120

Even though I’m using it as a Special sweeper, it has a versatile statspread that can be taken in any direction with proper investment, so don’t think you have to pigeonhole Giratina as an offensive Pokemon.
That being said, Giratina wants to decimate its foes using moves like Phantom Force, Outrage, Earthquake, Psychic, Earth Power, Thunderbolt, Dragon Pulse, Aura Sphere, Dark Pulse, Icy Wind, and Calm Mind. Giratina has a wide selection of moves to choose from that can cover its weaknesses and deal huge damage to its foes.

In Violet, Zekrom is found in the middle of three stone pillars on top of the mountain south of Artazon in South Province (Area Three).
You can combine Zekrom with Kyurem to change into Black Kyurem with the use of DNA Splicers. You can get the DNA Splicers at the Porto Marinada Auction, which will become available when you have Zekrom and Kyurem in your box or party.
Zekrom has the ability Teravolt, which allows Zekrom’s moves to ignore the abilities of foes. Its stats lean towards a Physical sweeper, but if you want, you could make it a Special sweeper since both its Attack and Special Attack are similar.
Zekrom wants to use moves like Bolt Strike, Fusion Bolt, Thunder Fang, Dragon Claw, Outrage, Crunch, Dragon Dance, and Hone Claws. Zekrom wants to hit hard and fast, so anything that boosts its Special Attack and Speed are welcome. A support Pokemon that can set up Electric Terrain, for example, would be an awesome pairing for Zekrom.
- Great ability that ignores foes’ abilities
- Versatile stats that can go either offensively or defensively
- Wide array of moves to handle many situations
11. Zacian (VERY POWERFUL)

The Rusted Sword is available from the special vendor at Porto Marinada Auctions and only appears when you have Zacian in your party or boxes. Both forms’ stats are similar, with Crowned Sword Form boosting its Attack and Speed slighlty, so the roles between the two are going to be the same.
Zacian has the ability Intrepid Sword, which boosts its Attack stat the first time the Pokémon enters a battle.. With all this in mind, Zacian wants to be an offensive Physical sweeper.
Zacian wants to use its high offenses to overtake the foes. Moves like Behemoth Blade, Irone Head, Psychic Fange, Psycho Cut, any of the elemental fang moves, Sacred Sword, Play Rough, Crunch, Agility, and Swords Dance. Anything to increase its Attack and Speed would be great for Zacian.
- Cool ability that gives it a boost as soon as it enters battle
- Great offensive typing and statline for a sweeper role
- Its form change givevs it boosted stats where it’s needed
10. Zamazenta (VERY POWERFUL)
(Transfer From Pokemon HOME)

Special Attack: 80 Special Attack: 80

Zamazenta wants to tank and absorbs hits. Moves like Wide Guard, Agility, Light Screen, Reflect, Rest combined with Sleep Talk, Laser Focus, Safeguard, and Work Up help boost Zamazenta’s and its team’s stats and gives protection. For offensive moves you could use Revenge, any of the elemental fang moves, Crunch, or Psychic Fangs. Zamazenta wants to protect itself and its allies with its huge defensive stats, so it doensn’t need to prioritize attacking much.
- Great bulk that solidifies it as a tank
- Its form change boosts its already high bulk evem higher, making it that much more unkillable
- Helpful ability that raises its Defense upon entering battle
9. Eternatus (VERY POWERFUL)
(Transfer From Pokemon HOME)
This thing reminds me of something out of Alien! So creepy!
HP: 140
Attack: 85
Defense: 95
Special Attack: 145
Special Defense: 95
Speed: 130
Eternatus is a Posion/Dragon Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained by transferring it from Pokemon HOME.
Eternatus has the ability Pressure, which makes the opponent’s moves lose 2 PP instead of 1. Its stats make it a formidable Special sweeper with its high Speical Attack and Speed.
Eternatus wants to use Special moves like Sludge Bomb, Shadow Ball, Flamethrower, Mystical Fire, Draco Meteor, Dragon Pulse, Meteor Beam, Dragon Dance, and Toxic. It’s bulk isn’t very high so it’ll want a tank to switch into when it comes across a Pokemon that threatens it. That, or a support Pokemon to pass buffs to ensure Eternatus sweeps cleanly.
- Great offensive power that leans well into the sweeper role
- Great offensive typing with little weaknesses and powerful moves
- It’ll need some help taking on foes its weak to since it doesn’t have many options to handle them
8. Rayquaza (VERY POWERFUL)
(DLC: Indigo Disk)
Rayquaza is the definition of a badass Legendary!
HP: 105
Attack: 150

Rayquaza will use moves like Draco Meteor, Dragon Pulse, Earthquake, Flamethrower, Hydro Pump, Ice Beam, Overheat, Thunderbolt, Brick Break, Crunch, Dragon Ascent, Outrage, and U-Turn to smash through its foes. It can also use some stat boosts to raise its own stats to better handle any foe thrown its way. Things like Bulk Up, V-Create, Scale Shot, Dragon Dance, Hone Claws, Swords Dance, and Tailwind are all reliable options for Rayquaza to boost its stats.
Rayquaza is a powerful Pokemon with very versatile and plentiful move options to face any Pokemon it comes across and smack them into next month.
- Offensive typing gives it reliable STAB options and versatile moves to work with
- Handy ability nulifies weather
- Can be either Physical or Special attacker depending on preference and what the team needs
7. Lunala (VERY POWERFUL)
(DLC: Indigo Disk)
Lunala looks both creepy and cool! It’s totally something Batman would have on his team!
HP: 137
Attack: 113
Defense: 89
Special Attack: 137
Special Defense: 107
Speed: 97
Lunala is a Psychic/Ghost Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained after completing 10 Solo Blueberry Quests in The Indigo Disk DLC in Pokemon Violet to get its Legendary Treat from Snacksworth. In Scarlet, you need to complete 1 Group Blueberry Quest to get its Treat.
Lunala has the ability Shadow Shield, which reduces the damage taken by 50% while its HP is full. This ability is unaffected by moves or abilities that ignore this ability's effect. Its stats put it into an offensive attacker role, focusing on its Special Attack.
Lunala will punish its foes by using Special moves like Metoer Beam, Moongeist Beam, Heat Wave, Moonblast, Psychic, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Night Daze, Shadow Ball, and Night Shade. Since it has respectable Special Defense, it can take a hit from Special moves to set up. - Great typing with only 2 major weaknesses
- Awesome ability that flat-out reduces incoming damage by half

6. Solgaleo (VERY POWERFUL)
(DLC: Indigo Disk)
This guy is actually really freakin’ big! The games don’t do it justice
HP: 137
Attack: 137
Defense: 107
Special Attack: 113
Special Defense: 89
Speed: 97
Solgaleo is a Psychic/Steel Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained after completing 10 Solo Blueberry Quests in The Indigo Disk DLC in Pokemon Scarlet to get its Legendary Treat from Snacksworth. In Violet, you need to complete 1 Group Blueberry Quest to get its Treat.
Solgaleo has the ability Full Metal Body, which prevents other Pokemon moves or abilities from lowering its stats. This ability is awesome because no matter what, Solgaleo will always have its stat boosts without fear of having them nullified. Speaking of stats, Solgaleo’s are geared towards being a bruiser, with specialty in either Attack or Special Attack. The choice is yours because both stats are similar.
For brevity, we’ll make Solgaleo a Physical attacker. For that, we can use moves like Close Combat, Flare Blitz, Outrage, Superpower, Earthquake, Iron Tail, Sunsteel Strike, Psychic Fangs, Iron Head, Zen Headbutt, and Metal Burst. And since Solgaleo has good bulk, you could opt for moves that support itself or its team without worry of dying before gettting anything going. Moves such as Agility, Calm Mind, Cosmic Power, Iron Defense, Light Screen, Reflect, Metal Sound, Morning Sun, Safeguard, Sunny Day, Teleport, or Toxic are all great status moves Solgaleo and its team would appreciate.

Anyone else remember when Ho-Oh appeared in the anime? Everyone was so stoked!
HP: 106
Attack: 130
Defense: 90
Special Attack: 110
Special Defense: 154
Speed: 90
Ho-Oh is a Fire/Flying Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained after completing 10 Solo Blueberry Quests in The Indigo Disk DLC in Pokemon Scarlet to get its Legendary Treat from Snacksworth. In Violet, you need to complete 1 Group Blueberry Quest to get its Treat.
Ho-Oh wants to use its hidden ability Regenerator, which heals up to 1/3 of its max HP when switched out of battle. This ability comes in handy when Ho-Oh finds itself in a pinch. It can go many different ways in terms of roles. It can be a either a Physical or Special sweeper, it can be a bruiser, or it can be a Special tank.
For this list, we’ll make Ho-Oh a Special tank, even if many would place it as a sweeper. Let’s have fun with it! For starters, it’ll want moves like Burn Up, Giga Drain, Incinerate, Mystical Fire, Dual Wingbeat, Flame Charge, Calm Mind, Defog, Life Dew, Light Screen, Reflect, Recover, Sunny Day, Tailwind, and Whirlwind. These combinations of offensive and status moves make Ho-Oh more defensive and all have effects that either inhibit the foe or help Ho-Oh and its team.
- Great ability that heals it, making it more bulky over time
- Great offensive typing that has access to manymoves for both offense and defense
- Can pivot into either offense or defense depeding on what the team needs
4. Lugia (VERY POWERFUL)
(DLC: Indigo Disk)
Why is Lugia NOT a Water-type?? It lives in the WATER!
HP: 106
Attack: 90
Defense: 130
Special Attack: 90
Special Defense: 154
Speed: 110
Lugia is a Psychic/Flying Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained after completing 10 Solo Blueberry Quests in The Indigo Disk DLC in Pokemon Violet to get its Legendary Treat from Snacksworth. In Scarlet, you need to complete 1 Group Blueberry Quest to get its Treat.
Lugia wants its hidden ability Multiscale, which reduces the amount of damage it takes by 50% if its HP is full. Going off its stats, Lugia wants to tank, plain and simple.
Since Lugia wants to be a tank, it’ll want moves like Calm Mind, Light Screen, Reflect, Toxic, Recover, Safeguard, Whirlwind, Mist, Defog, Roost, Feather Dance, and Tailwind. These moves help Lugia and its team better handle the opposing team with stat buffs, healing, and protection. It can’t just have support moves though, so some offensive moves Lugia could use are Ice Beam, Liquidation, Aeroblast, Extrasensory, Giga Drain, Hydro Pump, Psychic, Dual Wingbeat, and Zen Headbutt. Lugia will want at least one attacking move, with most of its moves being support based for itself and its team.
- Great mixed bulk that lends itself well to the tank role
- Multiscale also leans into the tank role very nicely
- Typing isn’t favorable because of its many weaknesses, but it’s so bulky it hardly matters
3. Terapagos (VERY POWERFUL)
(DLC: Indigo Disk)
I don’t know about you, but I think the element symbols on its shell looks kind of… tacky?
Base Form: Terastal Form: Stellar Form:
HP: 90 HP: 95 HP: 160
Attack:65 Attack: 95 Attack:105
Defense: 85 Defense: 110 Defense:110
Special Attack: 65 Special Attack: 105 Special Attack:130
Special Defense: 85 Special Defense: 110 Special Defense:110
Speed: 60 Speed: 85 Speed:85
Terapagos is a Normal-type Legendary Pokemon. It can obtained at the end of The Indigo Disk DLC's story after defeating it in battle. Terapagos’ base form’s stats look underwhelming because they are, but don’t worry, when Terapagos is sent into battle, it’ll automatically turn into its Terastal form, boosting its stats.
Terapagos’ base form has the ability Tera Shift, which when sent into battle, turns it into its Terastal form. Its Terastal Form then gains the ability Tera Shell, which, when its HP is full, makes all damage-dealing moves that hit Terapagos be not very effective. If you Terastallize Terapagos, its ability changes again to be Teraform Zero, which makes it when Terapagos changes into its Stellar Form (by Terastallizing), it eliminates all effects of weather and terrain.
Terapagos wants to Terastallize to take full advantage of all its power. With that, its stats lean towards a bulky attacker role. Its Special Attack, Defense, and Special Defense are its most notable stats.
Since Terapagos wants to play a bulky attacking role, it’ll want moves like Tera Starstorm, Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Tri Attack, Ancient Power, and Meteor Beam. Terapagos can afford to take a hit since it has high bulk, so it could also use a move slot to support itself or its team with moves like Calm Mind, Gravity, Rain Dance, Protect, Rest combined with Sleep Talk, Stealth Rock, Sunny Day, or Toxic. Terapagos is a strong Pokemon with a plethora of moves that can be used both offensively and defensively depending on what you need in the moment.
- Great bulk and Special Attack to pivot between offense and defense easily
- Uber-strong ability when Terastallized that negates weather and terrain
- Only downside is Terapagos has to be Terastallized to take full advantage of all its strength
2. Koraidon (VERY POWERFUL)
(Base Game)
I wonder who will win?
HP: 100
Attack: 135
Defense: 115
Special Attack: 85
Special Defense: 100
Speed: 135
Koraidon is a Fighting/Dragon Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained as a mount once you're near the Poco Path Lighthouse in the beginning of the game while going through the beginning tutorial. To get Koraidon as a Pokemon in your party, you will have to beat the game. You can then use it in its Battle Form, which isn’t really a true form change; it’s only there to signify that you’ve put it in your party and it’s no longer a mount.
Note: If you press the Start, or Plus (+) button to ride Koraidon, it will be removed from your party.
Koraidon has the ability Orichalcum Pulse which changes the weather to Harsh Sunlight for five turns, and boosts its Attack stat by 30% while said weather is active. Koraidon’s stats indicate that it wants to be a Physical sweeper with its high Attack and Speed.
Koraidon will destroy its opponents with its high offensive power. Use moves like Brick Break, Close Combat, Collision Course, Drain Punch, Breaking Swipe, Dragon Claw, Outrage, Crunch, Scale Shot, and U-Turn to hit hard and fast. U-Turn is especially useful because its Koraidon’s only move that lets it retreat from unfavorable matchups, so take it into consideration.
Because Koraidon will be a part of your team from the get-go, it’s best to learn what works and what doesn’t. It isn’t meant to take hit after hit after hit, but rather, it’s intended to be a sort of glass cannon that blows through foes. With that in mind, a support Pokemon who can dabilitate your foes will go a long way in Koraidon’s success.
- Great offensive pressure with its ability and move pool
- Fits comfortably on weather teams that utilize sunlight to boost their power
- Is a strong addition to your team right at the start of your journey, so it’s an easy win most times
1. Miraidon (VERY POWERFUL)
(Base Game)
Miraidon is the only reason I bought Violet. I mean, it’s totally a TRON bike!
HP: 100
Attack: 85
Defense: 100
Special Attack: 135
Special Defense: 115
Speed: 135
Miraidon is an Electric/Dragon Legendary Pokemon. It can be obtained as a mount once you're near the Poco Path Lighthouse in the beginning of the game while going through the beginning tutorial. To get Miraidon as a Pokemon in your party, you will have to beat the game. You can then use it in its Battle Form, which isn’t really a true form change; it’s only there to signify that you’ve put it in your party and it’s no longer a mount.
Note: If you press the Start, or Plus (+) button to ride Miraidon , it will be removed from your party.
Miraidon has the ability Hadron Engine, which changes the terrain to Electric Terrain for five turns, and boosts its Special Attack stat by 30% while said terrain is active. Miraidon’s stats are geared towards being a Special sweeper, with its high Special Attack and Speed.
Miraidon wants to abuse its high offensive stats to overwhelm the enemy. Moves like Draco Meteor, Electro Drift, Thunderbolt, Dragon Pulse, Discharge, Volt Switch, Parabolic Charge, Charge Beam, and Mirror Coat are all good options for Miraidon to wield. Just liek Koraidon, it doesn’t have the bulk to sustain huge amounts of damage, so Volt Switch is very helpful in getting Miraidon out of sticky situations that would otherwise KO it. Furthermore, similar to Koraidon, Miraidon wants support from its team to utilize its best stats.
- Awesome ability that buffs itself to be even more powerful
- Good synergy with Pokemon who want Electric Terrain to boost their power
- You get Miraidon right out of the gate, so it makes wining that much easier
And there you have it! All the Legendary Pokemon ranked from good to super powerful. What kind of Legndaries are you going to get and use on your teams? Are there any Pokemon on this list that you agree or disagree about their placement? Are you ready to catch them all? You better be, because there’s a lot!
